TL;DR: They canceled the day-of because I asked basic pricing/scope questions. I scheduled Pacific Coast Plumbing to install a new toilet. The day before, I asked the scheduler a simple question about how big a job it would be to reset wax rings on other toilets in the unit. I was told that would need to be a separate job, but that the plumber replacing my toilet could take a look and talk to me about it, and I could schedule another appointment later if I wanted. The morning of the appointment, I received a message saying the plan had changed to sending two plumbers and charging double, without any clear estimate. When I asked for a rough range and suggested a smaller approach (install the new toilet as planned and reset one additional toilet to gauge time/cost), the person I spoke with became agitated and canceled the entire job -- including the original agreed-upon installation. I understand plumbing has variables, but canceling last-minute because a customer asks reasonable scope/pricing questions is unprofessional. I had a heavy new toilet sitting out ready for install and had to scramble to find another plumber. Extremely unprofessional communication, poor customer service, and unreliable scheduling. They arrived right on time (even a few minutes early), were professional and efficient, and left everything spotless. You'd never even know we had work done in the house. I noticed that one reviewer mentioned this business did not fix his plumbing problem but he felt badly about leaving a negative review. My advice to him: please don't. Yes, they were polite on the phone scheduling an appointment and did send someone right away, but the positives end right there.  The guy they sent snaked a clogged drain as requested but, after he left, I noticed the pipe under the sink was leaking. (The leak began immediately after the visit--I noticed as soon as I begin putting the items I had cleared in anticipation of the visit back in the cabinet with the pipe).  When I called PCP to ask if someone could come back and take a look at it, the woman I spoke to (Amber? Anabelle?) told me they would have to charge $140 for a new visit. I declined (because I believe it is a poor business practice not to stand by your work) and called another plumber. The second plumber took one look at the leaky pipe and told me that the screws to the pipe were loose and not tightened properly. He promptly fixed the problem. End of story, right? But no. About two weeks later, I received an invoice charging me $420 and stating that three drains, not ONE (which was the actual work performed) were snaked by their plumber. After too many phone calls (none with the owner, who apparently doesn't accept calls from customers), I am still trying to resolve this. What a colossal waste of time for one clogged drain. In short, this place sucks. There are many other, far more competent plumbers out there. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and don't call this one. (PS. I'm editing this to clarify that the loose screws on the leaky pipe I mention above was 100% attributable to the PCP plumber-- there was no leak before his visit or after the second plumber fixed his sloppy work) read more

These guys had very good customer service, friendly plumbers, and prompt scheduling. But Pacific Coast Plumbing didn't fix my minor plumbing problem so I can't really give them even two stars. A part of me feels bad but then I think about how frustrated I was. I had a small leak underneath one of my bathroom sinks. The sink is one year old and I had taken the pipes apart to clean them. I read how to do it on the Internet. LIFE HACK. I'd done it before. Won't ever do it again. No matter what I did, when I put it back together there was a slight leak out of one of the joints. After hours of trying, I gave up and decided to just call a plumber to fix it. These guys came out the day after I called them. The guy who came was very nice and in 30 minutes he said he was done. Sweet! But then later that night I looked under the sink and it was still leaking. Frustrated, I called them up the next day and they sent the same guy over. He worked at it for another 45 minutes and then told me that it was all fixed. Same thing. Later that day, it started leaking again. On the third visit, I got a new guy. They were going to replace the whole J pipe. They didn't, though. The guy told me that the sink was put together incorrectly and that while he would try to fix it, he was recommending that we fully change the configuration of the rough that goes out to my main line. Oh, and that the warranty on their service was now void because they had come out three times for one appointment (which ultimately is a fair stance to take). I wasn't going to change the rough because a) that would be expensive and disruptive and b) the sink right next to this one was configured the same way and it was just fine. The guy did his thing, hung around a little while, and declared it fixed. A few hours later... still leaking. I gave up on Pacific Coast Plumbing and called another plumber. They came the same day that I called them - about two hours later - and fixed it in about 20 minutes. It's been a few weeks and it hasn't leaked a drop since. Again, nice guys with good customer service, but I wasted $100+ and about five hours of my time waiting and all I got was a headache and another $100+ bill from another guy that actually knew how to fix it. read more

They come right away, they work quickly and neatly and they're genuinely nice to do business with. It's as good as it gets and that's a good thing. Somehow, they've managed to get here always within a couple of hours for whatever plumbing crisis arises. It's just all good. read more

Called to see if they could fix water pressure after we called 3 other companies for over priced estimates. They sent a rep out fast and fixed the water pressure as well as our clogging drain. Pacific Coast Plumbing is the best. I had a great experience with whole job. Scheduling was super easy and plumber Edwin was on time and very professional. He installed a kitchen faucet for me - that I had bought at Home Depot. After he installed it, he tested it and it leaked. He took it apart and found a faulty washer in it. He suggested that I return it to Home Depot for a new faucet and offered to take his lunch break while it did it. He was so accommodating! I raced back with a new faucet and he put it in. Worked perfectly. His service was above and beyond what I had expected!! And the price was reasonable! read more

Have had on-going plumbing issues with this place. Had a bad first visit, but decided to give them a second chance as the manager/owner called and seemed so cool. Now have a bill for $250 to tighten a faucet. Not kidding. :( They charge $65 dollars just to look and you get NO CREDIT for the charge if work is done. Avoid, avoid, AVOID. read more

Excellent Service! Based on Yelp reviews I called Pacific in the morning and, within a few hours of my inquiry, the problem was resolved! Initially the supervisor on duty suggested I text a digital picture of the key hardware involved. Immediately after receiving the picture the supervisor provided a diagnosis, allaying any concern for me that this was a costly or complicated job. Overall, great service. Good business manners: friendly, knowledgable, honest, and professional. Stayed past their work hours to make sure my problem was resolved and did not overcharge me. Efficient and did not do a careless job, they cleaned everything up completely that they had worked on. They explained the work that had been performed and let me inspect and test it and answered all of my questions. Called for an estimate. They can send out a plumber tomorrow, but the part will cost about $100, and the total estimate was $500 for what should be a 1-2 hour job. $200-400 per hour labor seems excessive, especially since it doesn't include any additional minor pipe changes. I had the same job done in another area for about half the price, but that included a major reworking of the pipes. I know Santa Monica is expensive, but this is far too much. I needed to repair an underground leak in the main water pipe in my front yard. Nick came out, charged me $69 and assured me that he knew what needs to be done to fix it, and that $69 will be credited towards the repairs. He said he'd send 2 guys @ $150/hour for both, next morning with all the needed stuff to fix the leak. I figured, it's pricey, but I just need this fixed ASAP, so I agreed. Next morning Matt shows up (alone), works for 2 hours digging a mud hole in my front yard, and says that he now knows how to fix the leak, but he doesn't have the right materials, or the helper to help him dig. And that it will be $280 for today's work. I ask why $280, and he explains that he is $105/hour, plus a service charge of $69 (that no one has mentioned before). I call his supervisor, Nick, who says that the job will probably cost over $1700 (!!!) to complete, after I pay the $280 for today, because they will send 2 guys...(you see where this is going?) ...one of whom will watch, while the other will dig, at $150/hour... while I pay... and pay... and hopefully they will have what they need as far as materials, which will be an unspecified amount extra... I also saw where this was going, which is why another plumber is on his way to fix the leak, and I will never, ever call Pacific Coast Plumbing again! read more

This is a bit of a different review, but I think it speaks volumes about the company and their integrity. Pacific Coast was great to me. Their customer service folks took excellent care of me and really listened to my needs. I had a very technical project related to a specific brand of water heater. Instead of sending out someone who was inexperienced, Pacific Coast referred me to another plumber in my area that was technically versed in my unit and who did an excellent job. I was blown away. Most plumbing companies would send someone out anyway and tinker and it would cost twice a much and still wouldn't get done right. Pacific Coast should be your first call. read more

This was one of the few plumbers we talked to that met our HOA's strict requirements. I sent them a few pictures of the plumbing problem, and they were able to tell exactly what was wrong and give me a very reasonable price quote over the phone and order the parts needed right away which is why we chose them in the end. The technician, Mario, was prompt, courteous, honest, and very knowledgeable. Just wanted to say how happy we were with Pacific Coast Plumbing. My mom's house which was built in the 1940's is having some serious plumbing issues.
