Brought my RS3 back to Pacific German for more work done to the car. This time it's for a custom P3 V3 Gauge installation. Because my OBD2 port is occupied by a JB4 (installed through them too), they had to custom hardwire the entire gauge and tap the fuel line for my ethanol sensor. Since the standard P3 tap doesn't fit the 2.5T, Tyler engineered a flawless solution by removing the throttle body/charge pipe to install a custom spacer fitting. The plumbing through the firewall and dashboard is very clean, and the car looks entirely OEM. I'm fortunate enough to live near Pacific German, cause they are hands down one of the best places to go for your Audi/VW. read more

Yes, I am writing an update to my review I wrote in 2017... 9 years ago. The car is still in fantastic shape. She handles the corners just like when I picked her up. It had some work done for the engine cam covers and of course regular maintenance, but the suspension bushings that Shawn recommended to fix ASAP 9 years ago are still holding up great. How does this logically make sense? Here is the quote from Shawn at the time (2017): "I'm glad you have been able to get a year of use with these bushings. Continue to have them inspected as you have been and maybe you'll get another year out of them! Or maybe you'll just have to replace your tires or control arms just a little sooner than you should have..." That is some fear-inducing threat. Seriously guys. Take my word for it. This place is a scam! I've read some reviews beforehand stating that they exaggerate the problem with their customers' vehicles and recommended extensive repair work. Same thing happened to me but I told the owner I'd like a second opinion. He immediately flipped and told me he was insulted by my comments. Anyway, I went to another Indy and had my transfer case fluid serviced twice and after now over a year my Macan transmission drives smooth buttery with no issues. It's so funny that he said my transmission will blow up any time if I don't replace the transfer case which cost over $3k plus labor. So stay away especially for any Porsche owners. read more

Pacific German has been taking care of my two cars for about a year now. They've been able to do all of the regular maintenance, some upgrades like a trailer hitch, as well as track down and fix some tricky issues. They were able to confirm the existence of one issue in particular that the dealer said 'didn't exist', and referred me to a more competent dealer to get it fixed under warranty. Their prices are super fair when compared to the dealer, and they'll take their time with the car to make sure things are diagnosed and repaired properly. They communicate clearly and concisely, and have never tried the 'upsell' of unnecessary services like a dealer would. Their lounge is clean and comfortable, and my kids like looking at some of the cool cars hanging around when we come to pick up or drop ours off. read more

Only place I take my cars to and I'm in the car business and super picky. From oil changes and service for my Huracan to now my wife's Bentley being in shop for a small coolant leak. While it's there getting service . I am also getting new wheels and having them use their factory oem scan tools to lower the Bentley. Tyler went out of his way to select the best wheels, and offset. They have all the same tools that Lamborghini and Bentley dealerships have except with better family owned and operated service and not taking me to the cleaners price wise. Always very fair. This father son business at Pacific German are bullies and crooks. I bought a Kline inconel exhaust for my GTR R35 back in 2020. I tried to cancel order way before this exhaust was even built. The crooks denied my request! Long story short I got stuck with this 10k exhaust system. Which we ALL KNOW you cannot LEGALLY modify our exhaust in California. But again owner refused to work with me to give me a refund. So I called today! 3 years later trying to get some information on this exhaust to try and get to some money back and sell it. The pictures on Klines website are ALL I have to go by. So they have a 2017 exhaust. The one I was given!!! And another exhaust that Kline says is for 2020's? My GTR is a 2020 not a 2017??? Why would Pacific German refuse to give me any information about this exhaust after selling it to me? When I tried to find out today? So when I went to pick up my exhaust from the crooks the father opened ALL MY boxes and threw ALL my exhaust parts on the ground!!! Used vulgar language and told me many things to my face that takes a grown man not to react too! Photos are taken as soon as I got home that day. I can not say enough about the service I received at Pacific German. I have a BMW that just fell out of warranty and of course something went wrong. After having it serviced at the only place my car has ever been worked on, I started hearing a clunking noise in the rear passenger tire area. Took my car back and was told my 2021 M340 with only 64,000 miles and has never, ever, missed a service or had any issues, was now in need of rear bushings and a subframe, total cost $11,000. I immediately became suspicious of the evaluation and did some quick web browsing about the subject matter and reached out to some knowledgeable family members for advice. After speaking with them and hearing that it was highly unlikely that my bushings and subframe needed to be replaced, particularly because my mileage being so low on the car with impeccable maintenance record. I told the service rep at BMW, I would be picking my car up shortly and taking it elsewhere for a second opinion. Thank god I did!!!! So my dad suggested Pacific German for a second opinion. By the way I had already told the BMW dealership that it sure seemed like an attempt to up sale me and charge me for unnecessary services. Possibly the bushings had prematurely worn out, but the subframe BS, no way. Here's the best part!!! Shawn at Pacific German took his time and was so thorough with diagnosing my car. He shared that he was not 100% convinced that the knocking sound was coming from the rear bushings. In the end, he drained my bushing oil and saw the fluid was not the right color or fluid. My understanding is the color was yellow and nothing like it should be. So wrong fluid had been put in my car by the ONLY place that has ever touched my vehicle. The same place I purchased my BMW from, in Signal Hill off of Spring st. Be aware of the up sale once your warranty expires and the fact that someone either made a terrible mistake or does not know what they are doing. Either way I will be going back to have a conversation with the service manager. In hopes to stop this from happening to someone else and they end up paying the $11,000. Final outcome, oil was drained, haven't heard any knocking so far and total cost for repair and diagnostics $274.94. Yep you read that right. It went from an $11,000 evaluation at the dealership to less than $300.00. I can not tell you how nice it was to work with such an honest establishment and not have someone see me as just an ignorant women driving a sports car that had no business doing so and was being dismissed. THANK YOU, Pacific German!! You have definitely gained a new customer. Lady's listen to your gut instinct, it is usually right. All I can say, is there is still honest, hard working people out there. He called to verbally abuse me. Told me I'm pathetic for mentioning I'm a single woman (not a crutch, it's used to context to the target audience) and he said to Hell with me and I don't know how many times he said Bullshit. He obliterated me on the phone. He was so disrespectful. He wouldn't let me speak for a second. Absolutely unprofessional conduct. He advised to either give him one or five stars. I've been servicing my car at Pacific German for several years. I've always given them great reviews and have recommended them to others at any opportunity. However, one day they did not exceed my customer satisfaction in which they requested my feedback. There have been other days in which I bit my tongue but I'll speak for the day regarding the email I was provided in the photo. In the most politically correct way I provided my honest feedback through their feedback system. And this is what they wrote back to me.. (see photo). I mentor Customer Service employees and advise on the Collegiate level. The purpose of a feedback form is an additional opportunity to make things right. Instead, they've dismissed me and blamed my professional schedule. Single woman, one car, I work shift work. Before the feedback was provided I emailed them, I called and I have asked in person. I was told my car is a complete "mystery". Was not advised of a secondary problem regarding valves. My original review indicated that after 7 hours I was not advised on any status update with my car. I was stranded by the road and had to call them because they were closing and I haven't heard back from my check engine light fix service. It turns out they said "Sorry we have to keep this through the weekend" in turn I replied "I really need groceries and can't be without a car". My car was still not fixed and I suggested to Pacific German a recommendation "should a car take longer than expected to please reach out to the customer". I didn't say anything bad. I was only being honest. Being honest leads to myself, as a customer being blamed due to my work schedule. I never received a follow up call on how my car is doing. What time can work best. After being a few favorite customer, if this is how I'm treated - I can only imagine the customers that just walk in. Called to cuss me out. I have to say that I really do not enjoy going onto Yelp to bash a business - even more so when it's a family-run one. My experience with Pacific German started out in September 2022, when my father had just picked up his Audi R8, eager to begin the modification process on it. I've seen Pacific German's Audi R8 at a couple of local car meets, so I thought: "Hey! Why not hit them up? They have a pretty sweet car for inspiration". I ended up giving Pacific German a call and spoke briefly with Tyler, communicating what we wanted to do. Tyler exceeded my expectations, giving me an in-depth explanation and quotes for everything. I'm not going to lie, Pacific German is pretty expensive - even as far as luxury car modification goes. But hey! That's why you get a quote before. I ran the prices by my father, who (like any rational person) wanted to shop around before committing. I ended up going with another local shop that I've trusted 3 of my previous cars with (they charged 1/2 the cost on EVERY bit of labor). I won't namedrop them for their sake (go read some of the responses from the owner when Pacific German receives a 1* review LOL). Fast-forward to December 2022, the shop I went with ended up not wanting to install the last modification (Audi GT4 Spoiler) due to some missing parts, and suggested going back to Pacific German since they have installed many in the past. I already knew the heavier price going into this, so reaching out to Tyler once more, I bit the bullet and decided to go for it. Over the phone Tyler definitely sounded disappointed that we had gone to another shop, but still accepted to slot us in for an appointment in the coming new year. Most importantly, I communicated that the spoiler was in fact MISSING parts, hence why we wanted Pacific German to take over the remainder of the project and source the correct parts. As promised, I had delivered the car yesterday for the appointment, with Tyler personally seeing us off. He inspected the car, noting a couple things, but overall saying that we needed a panel painted (I knew this and had already gotten a quote in September), and listed all the small components I was missing (retainers, bolts, nuts, and washers). This morning we agreed on the prices and gave the green light to initiate the install. A couple hours after, I get an email from Tyler saying "The boss is upset over this deal..." and to come pick up the car. I am confused at this point. Didn't I literally just communicate and confirm with you what's going on and happening? Why would you make me go and drop the car off, then tell me to pick up the car again? My father who is on the email thread decided to be non-confrontational and instead ask VERY nicely if Pacific German could make an exception. Shawn then privately emailed my dad (lol) and essentially gave the equivalent of the middle finger to him. I was astonished that my father was given such a dismissive response, that I sent an email back stating that the personal commentary was unnecessary and outright unprofessional. To which I received another private email (lol). He went on about describing the shop I went with as: "I don't particularly have any respect for other so cal shops who are nothing more than Instagram famous hacks". A grown man badmouthing others in the automotive community. Rather than respond, I decided to let him have the last word. No point in "wasting their time", as he so often says. Look, I'm relatively hopeful that as a family business they have a future. Tyler seems to have his head on right with business etiquette, but the big "boss" Shawn needs to relax a bit with that egotistical attitude. Maybe it's time to let your kids who have a better grip on societal norms do the talking, while you retire with a nice drink under the sun! :) I can easily attach the email thread between my father, myself, and Pacific German. Pacific German cleared an SRS passenger restraint system code with prior knowledge the code was previously cleared and the code reappeared indicating an issue, because the person I purchased the vehicle from called and asked them to. I would like to say it was a lapse in judgment on a service advisors part and has no reflection on the shop itself, but I was dealing directly with Shawn, the owner. I had even provided a BMW diagnosis and quote for repair. When I directly asked Shawn if he simply cleared the code, he stated no, and that he did some coding. I followed up asking if the airbags were fully functioning and his reply was, "there are always risks associated with any collision." Ask yourself if he seems confident in his work? Would BMW respond that way, or would they run tests on the modules to ensure they are working? When I refused to conduct business with them I was told to pick up my vehicle 20 minutes prior to closing. Shawn attempted to bully and intimidate me to get additional work. After text exchanges where I stated I was no longer willing to go back and forth with him, he had the audacity to call which resulted in him hanging up on me. What a relief for me to no longer be subjected to him. Don't just take my word for it, look at his responses to any negative reviews. He calls people idiots and liars. Publicly lashing out with a total lack of control and professionalism. read more

To start, I've made the mistake of taking my GTI's, both current and past, to other shops and have regretted it. Why? pure laziness, I live about 2 hours, without traffic, from Pacific German. I now know that a little driving goes a long way. First things first, the staff are phenomenal, from the first call to the day you get your keys back. Tyler, who not only knows the in's and out's of the cars he works on, takes the time to research and ensure he meets the customers expectations. Second, Shawn, who I believe is the owner, seems to be there all of time. And not just during the "listed hours", he is there after hours which is rare these days. He is extremely patient, even with his customers who have a bad case of OCD. Third, the shop is clean, very clean and the care that is provided to the cars is what you would expect at any high-end shop. I went in to get brakes done on my S4. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming as well as very knowledgeable. I had previously taken my car to the dealership for a warranty repair. They did the work and gave me the inspection report which failed to mention that two control arm bushing were absolutely shot. They did mention that one of the tires was more worn than the others. This alone should have been an indicator that something was not right. Not sure if the tech was legally blind or just pushing cars out as fast as possible.... But that is the dealership for you. My VW was up for suspension as it was just over 100k mi. Since the work needed to be done anyway figure I'd break away from stock and go for a sport suspension with a slight drop for fitment. Pacific German provided recommendations based upon what I was looking for and went above and beyond with other recommendations (which I would gladly do if the pocket book allowed). I can tell the really care about their quality of work. I found pacific German twice and both times they overcharged me. They have $149 inspections fee that is not refundable even if they repair you car, you still pay that. I spent $3500 1st time for valve replacement and second time they charged me over $2300, this includes $900 labor and $149 inspection. Insanely expensive, not honest and trustworthy people. Made up a bill for $14314.33 to fix a headlight harness and said it could be 4-6 months. I called to let him know we would be taking it to a dealership to get fixed and he then charged my mom $800 storage on her car. It was there waiting for the quote to fix it! It cost a total of $930 and 3 days to fix the wire harness. That's a bit different than $14000 and up to 6 months. The dates on the pictures show the charges. Total con artist! read more

I wanted to swap steering wheels on a 2018 Porsche Turbo. I emailed pictures of the current steering wheel and the new one. I was quoted a very good price. First of all, it is very hard to find anyone to even touch a job like this. A bunch of places gave me all these excuses as to why they would not do it. All the modules on the steering wheel have to be moved over. Its a complete rebuild of a all the electronics of the steering wheel. Pacific German communicated that this is "not a big deal" unlike everyone else. I kept asking them "are you sure" and they said they have done this several times before. First of all they did an incredible job. Toward the end, Shawn informed me "This took longer than we expected as this is not a wheel swap, but a rebuild" I replied "But I sent you the pictures of the wheels" He admitted he may not have looked at them. I was expecting him to say "We need to charge you more because its a lot more time". But instead he said "I just wanted to let you know because that is what is taking so long" They did NOT charge me any additional. IN addition they fixed and installed a battery terminal and attached a quick release for a trickle charger. They did not charge me for this repair that the dealer would have charged $150 for. Shawn then told me about his exhaust. I asked if I could hear it. Instead he drove me around in the car so I could experience. I am very pleased with this whole experience and appreciate the extra work they did that they did not charge me for and could have. read more
