My check engine light was on so I went to the foothill ranch Mercedes-Benz dealership and they said they charge $399 just to look at the car. So I went to O'Reilly autoparts and got the check engine light code read for free and it seemed like I needed a new coolant thermostat. At BENZ N' BEYOND, Ali looked at my car for issues and told me that I don't need a new thermostat and that it was a software error. I wasn't charged anything, the error was cleared, and I picked up my car that day and left. Called over the phone to ask for a quote specifically for a fuel pump replacement with make and model provided. Refused to give estimate over the phone and tried to treat me like an idiot. Even if the issue was something else, I wanted to know how much a pump replacement would cost. Wouldn't even tell me his labor price over the phone and told me I'd have to bring my car in. I spoke with Ali over the phone to get a second opinion/estimate after getting a list of repairs at the Mercedes dealership Foothill Ranch. Ali promised on the phone for : Minimum 50% cheaper prices if I even need the repairs, free diagnosis, and no wait time if I made an appointment for the following day. When I showed up Ali totally changed everything and said : I needed to leave the car ALL DAY, he will charge for the diagnosis, gave an estimate HIGHER THAN THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP. When I tried to remind him what he had promised over the phone, Ali kept cutting me off, rambling....etc. I can't believe he tries to conduct business this way in 2025. Very sorry to say, since this place had been recommended, that this outfit CANNOT BE TRUSTED. They will overcharge, convolute the truth, flat out lie about what they did and then hold your car hostage while you try to figure out how to pay a $4,000 bill that took them two hours. What's more, later you will find out that the car was never actually serviced, and if you go back in to politely bring it to their attention, you will have Middle Easterners rudely yelling at you. My M550, brand new to me all immaculate (still had the saran wrap from its detail) from the Dealer M550 goes in for service around 1pm. Around 1:30 I get a call that it needs new brakes (of course it dones, there is a Brake Shop right next door!) Next, I am informed that it is almost done and he would be needing his parking spot so wanted to make sure I would pick it up soon. They were waiting on a windshield wiper (100??). I pick it up whe look over the bill. They had billed for 6 hours when the car was being asked to move AS SOON AS IT ARRIVED! After 20 minutes of them yelling at me, I figured I should cut my losses, provided it had been serviced. I asked. Transmission had not been flushed (part of the service requested and called for). I then verbally run through the list - he states all fluid levels were checked, everything was serviced. The guy decides since I don't seem overjoyed with the service value to take $500 off the bill, yeah there was an extra $500 for the super sucker white tax I guess. Since I left, the windshield washer fluid does not come out at all. So that really expensive windshield wiper they thought I needed? It's kind of bored right now. Next, my instrument cluster informs me the coolant level is low. So after figuring out where that is, I fill that (again their job which I overpaid for!!!) Next, the instrument cluster tells me to check the engine oil at the next refuel. There was ZERO oil in there! This is all in LESS THAN 1,000 miles since being absolutely raped for lack of service and brakes that may not have been needed. I went today and requested my money back. The owner who did not even work on my car, blames my car and said if they charged money they earned it. He yells at me more and fills up the oil. Ridiculous. I reminded him how he urgently needed his parking spot, the aggregate hours on the bill were not even physically possible, and explained what I just wrote. Rather than understanding there is potentially permanent damage to my car (I mean you are supposed to have oil), there is no leak and oil changes occur after 10,000 miles. I've driven lightly near the coast; it's not right. So, they yell at me more, fill the oil, ignore the washer fluid, and act like they are just innocent mechanics. Two weeks prior the owner couldn't even discuss it, had no idea what was happening with it - just needed to be to Bristol by 5pm. Now, somehow he's positive (again, impossible) that well- you get the point. He refused to return my payment, refused to honor his service, and this time being prepared I noticed all sorts of ways these people take advantage of you. They are more than twic as expensive as the Dealership, but they cut corners and they lie to your face, and insist you pay thousands of dollars for quite honestly, something you could have done better yourself, or the mechanic at the gas station could do for $70 and being truthful and tranparent. Shame on these guys. Do not trust them with your vehicle nor your checkbook! read more

BEWARE! These guys tried to rip me off by getting me to buy work that my car didn't need. It was my first time visiting Benz & Beyond and they don't provide quotes over the phone so I went to take my Mercedes GLC300 in for A5 service. I was a little taken back when I found out the price they were charging me for an oil change was about what my Mercedes dealership charges (yes that's including parts & labor). So I was especially surprised to hear that an A5 service was $926 and that I apparently needed brake fluid flush & engine air filter (even though this was just done at my last service) as well as new spark plugs that my car also apparently needed. I left my car there but something just didn't sit right with me and I wanted to get a second opinion so I decided to call 30 minutes later and ask if we could just do the oil change and omit the other services until I get second opinion / quote from somewhere else. Benz and Beyond proceeds to tell me that they cannot cancel the services because they've already started the work. I was clearly upset and confused as they told me it was going to take a few hours before my car would be ready for pickup yet they apparently started the services to the point where they couldn't be cancelled after 30 minutes??? This rubbed me the wrong way and I explained to them if they can't cancel my services then they can expect me to bring in a quote from somewhere else. Next, I get a phone call about 20 minutes later from them explaining that they are somehow suddenly able to cancel the remaining services and will proceed with just the oil change. However they then tell me that they cannot reset my vehicle calculation so my car will continue to say A5 service due because "apparently" the calculation cannot be reset unless I get all these services done... I pick my car up and decide to take it to a mercedes dealership AND an independent mechanic and BOTH agreed that I did not need my brake fluid flush, engine air filter, and that my spark plugs had at least another 12,000 miles and it didn't make sense to change them now as my car would be due for another service before then. In addition to that, both agreed all I needed was an oil change for this service and no not all of those services are "required" to reset the calculation as it is vehicle specific to what is needed and offered to reset it at no cost for me. You know it's bad when even the mercedes dealership is telling you wherever you took it in was trying to rip you off... This was my first and last time at Benz and Beyond and I do not appreciate the shady practices & being taken advantage of by trying to get me to buy work that my car didn't need. read more

Well Ali at Benz N Beyond did fix a troublesome problem with my gas gauge shorting out. This was a toss-up between it being caused by the dash board console and the gas gauge is an integrated part of it or with the two sending units in the twin gas tanks in my Jaguar S-Type 2003 car. He replaced one of the two sending units and so far this problem appears to be solved. I have to take the car back to have Ali solve why the heater is not putting out any heat. No problem with the heater radiator core and no leaks but something is not opening a door to let the heat come into the car. That is the next adventure. This business is usually very busy. I made an appointment request on via phone after hours using their automated system. The return call was swift and while an exact time wasn't set I was invited to return on a specific date. I arrived at the business and as expected they were very busy. I spoke with one of the owners who explained that they were very busy and he didn't think that he could accommodate me. As I was limited on time, he suggested that I speak with one of the neighboring businesses, however they could not accommodate me either. I returned to Benz N Beyond and the owner, without hesitation, said that he would take care of the smog certification immediately. He completed the job in less than a half hour. Throughout our contact he was very pleasant and courteous. I have been to this business on a prior occasion to have other work done and had an equally fine experience. One of my neighbors, also a mechanic (but doesn't do smog certifications) told me that this business is known in the mechanical community as both honest and fair. We agreed and as I mentioned, both experiences were excellent. Given my experiences, I would highly recommended this business. I had a lot of problems with my Mercedes 2009 C350. It broke down on the freeway and I was ready to get rid of it and get a new car. Unfortunately car prices are at an all time high plus I wouldn't be able to afford a car that I love as much as my C350 which is an excellent car and has been for the past 11 years. No other shop wanted to touch my car. They were afraid to fix it because it came back with 11 codes. Benz N Beyond knew exactly what was wrong and identified one thing that would fix all nine codes.
