I got an IPA which there was a large variety of options. She ordered a mixed drink which she said was amazing and they were fairly priced. Nice atmosphere and layout. Lots of tvs throughout the restaurant making watching sports easy. Love the late night happy hour from 9-close. We got the burger and Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was good but a little on the small side. The burger was very good and filling especially with a side salad. Service was very good and friendly! Great addition to downtown Vancouver. We had a crew of about 12-14 people for a b-day party and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. We brought our own cake and they stored it in the fridge for us. Then when it was time to eat the cake, they got the whole bar to sing "Happy Birthday." They were attentive throughout the night, removing empty plates and promptly refilling drinks. I only ordered apps (deep fried broccoli and dirty fries) and they were both alright. I had high hopes here but was not really wowed. After seeing that this new establishment had opened, my better half and I decided to check it out. Positive experiences recently with new downtown Vancouver businesses had led me to being pretty optimistic. First, the positive: The menu is really unique, ribs and flash fried broccoli are just a few of the edibles that you will get to enjoy (along with a decent Scotch egg). A more than ample tap list and a full bar will keep you there for a while, just exploring and ordering. This establishment takes the quality and diversity of ingredients seriously. Second, the not so positive: The interior is drab at best. While the corner location has been embraced with windows all around so you can look out at the street, this is supposed to be a sports bar and sitting towards these windows, I felt far removed from the nearest television. If you are going to bill yourself as a sports bar, then the plat screens should be placed so you can watch a game without binoculars no matter where you are. The menu, while unique, lacks some of the more bar friendly staples, like chips/hummus/wings. Surely a place that is trying to distinguish itself from the white noise could find an interesting take. These are perfect snackables that are staples for a reason. My service oscillated between very friendly, and completely sterile. I had one gentleman coming to our table (who was not our server) regularly asking us how our food was and if we needed anything. Our actual server started friendly and then gradually just checked on us in a very scheduled way. No empathy, no perceived desire to make our stay more enjoyable. It moved from a relationship between guests and host, to a business transaction and really put me in a place where I didn't want to be there anymore-and it felt like she couldn't have cared less. Customer Service is imperative anywhere you go, and if you don't feel welcome in their "home", it is hard to want to visit again. If I were to come back, it would only be to sample some of the more interesting items on the menu, as this place really had nothing else to offer me. read more

We came across this place by chance and we are so glad we did. We consider ourselves "foodies" so maybe a little harsh when it comes to a great restaurant. Being in the food industry ourselves for many years, we know the ins, outs and all arounds. Our server, Kristina, was amazing. She was friendly, but not in a fake way, knowledgeable and read our sense of humor. A server who can read their guests gets extra bonus points. Now, the food. We had a couple appetizers: fried broccoli and a scotch egg, soups and salad and then dessert of creme brûlée and the Irish car bomb cake. Probably the best creme brûlée I've ever had. Hands down. Pacific is one of our go-to restaurants for brunch (Saturday & Sunday) and happy hour. The stand our is their scotch egg if you are so inclined. Sundays are a bonus day because it is happy hour all day! We find the service to be excellent as well. Our 1st visit was pleasant. The food was delish and the waitress looked happy to be there. Side entrance geared for kids, so family friendly if you want it to be. We had the Mac and Cheese, Kale Caesar, Mussels and Scotch Egg off the HH menu. Everything was absolutely on point! The mussels we cooked perfectly, and that is a rare thing to encounter. There wasn't a tough overcooked one on the plate. The Scotch Egg was the other item that was technically impressive. Managing to plate a perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg that is deep fried in sausage is no small feat. However, in my opinion the Mac and Cheese was the show-stopper. I am always nervous when I see the word "truffle" on any menu. It is usually way too overpowering and ends up making a dish taste "chemically". This was a really perfect application. The pairing with the smooth creamy cheese sauce made this an awesome dish. One of the best Mac and Cheese dishes I've encountered in a restaurant. My only complaint: it wasn't technically "Mac" and cheese. But cavatelli and cheese doesn't really sound the same. I look forward to returning to see if the food remains as well executed. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere has the beginning of a nice vibe; however, it feels somewhat bare. Other than the really nice thick oak tables (with live edges on the boards) and the lighting, the only things on the walls are the TV's. And there are a lot of TV's! Good menu, good food, a real asset to Main street and shows that there is always more room for good bars and eateries. This used to be a dive bar, now it's well lit, big, and hopefully going to set a higher standard for Vancouver bars. We sat outside since the weather is amazing and ordered dirty fries, fried broccoli, mussels, burger, and a tuna melt plus one soda and one cocktail (something inspired by a sazarac). All that came out to just shy of $55 before tip. And everything was delicious! Not gourmet, but really good and much better than usual pub fare. The only downside was there were several people hanging out a couple doors down smoking cigarettes and being loud.
