Cannot say much about their work because twice they did not show up. We had a leak and my partner gave them a call. They were slow on calling back and finally did, made an appt to come by and they never showed. My partner called several times and at first they did not call back and finally did. The excuse was that they had the "wrong Monday" on their schedule. Tried again and they did not show up AGAIN. Wow, how unprofessional you are Pacific! We had another place come out and did what they needed to do for now until the rain stops. The roofer showed up when they said they would. Shame on you Pacific for not bothering to show and not ever bothering to call if you could not. read more

Clark (owner) is very friendly and professional. Came to the house on time for the estimate despite me being late. Very polite and explained all the details of the work being done. Mailed me the estimate and was within the ballpark range of the other 2 companies (summit and Amko roofing) we got a quote from. We went to his office/warehouse on Revere st to inspect the parts and they were of great quality. Again, he explained his work. They are insured and have workmans comp. he has been licensed for over 20yrs. It really boils down to how much and what type of work u want done. If u really want all out vs on a budget, every roofer can do that for u.. But u just need to compare estimates and prices. I learned of them through Nextdoor, the neighborhood app. Clark Ahn is the Owner? Manager? Foreman? . . . at any rate, he was reliable, involved, knowledgeable. In addition to the roof, they redid our dutch gutters and replaced all downspouts with shiny new ones. They were fully professional and well equipped with big trucks and hoists to get equipment and materials to the top of our three story, peaked roof, Victorian house. A crew of six, plus Clark, were hard working and polite, good clean up every day. Can't recommend them highly enough. Price was fair and in line with two other bids I received. read more

I'm a happy, repeat customer. In 2017, Clark replaced the roof at my single-family home. My experience was consistent with the five-star reviews here on Yelp. So when I needed to replace the roof on my rental property this year (2020), I naturally reached out to Clark again. Again, I felt Clark and his team were conscientious and thorough. They identified and repaired the areas of dry rot and water intrusion; the previous roof was 25+ years old. They replaced all the air ducts, vents, and skylight. It was a five-day job, involving at least half a dozen guys. Clark managed all that and seems to take good care of them. This is a very professional roofing company. They provided a prompt, detailed, competitive bid, and had good, clear communication. High quality, brand name materials were delivered the day before work began. The crew of 6 arrived on time and began work immediately. As we expected, they found minor dry rot in a few spots in the soffits which was replaced without difficultly. The supervisor (and I) did a very thorough inspection of the attic crawl space and we found no additional areas needing attention. The entire operation from tear-off to cleanup was completed in one day. The work included bringing the roof vents up to the current building code. They apply for the the building permit and arrange for the county inspection. These people obviously know what they are doing and they did not try to talk me into unnecessary work or services. This review is overdue but every winter, I think of the great work that Clark did on our roof. He repaired our roof in August 2016 and he did a thorough job. We replaced our roof, shingles, 4 news skylights, and added copper drain outlets. Clark's pricing was reasonable. He was thorough during our walk through before and after the roof was replaced. Clark and his crew were amazingly-efficient, fun to watch, very polite with us and with our neighbors -- they did our roof in 2+ days, were cheerful and friendly, came up with all sorts of imaginative solutions for several old long-standing gutter-problems where we thought we had no choices. His price was mid-range -- several other bids were much higher, a few much lower -- but Clark is fully licensed and insured and very-responsible, as vs. the lower bidder-bunch, and his team was on-time every morning, took only short breaks, worked very hard, and finished the job. I just had my tar and gravel roof redone by this company and I couldn't be happier. They put down a waterproof layer and followed that with an insulating layer and topped it off with an asphalt layer. They removed 3-4 layers of tar and gravel. They filled up their truck and then finished other 1/3 the next day. They repaired all the soft spots on the roof and after they put on all the layers , you could see that the whole roof was slanted towards the drain. They also did my two light wells. They tore them down to the bare wood like the roof. They took the bottom layer of siding out and ran waterproofing up to the second siding. The finished product looks great. They also have a 96% overall quality rating in Bay Area Consumer Checkbook. The head of the crew, Clark was easy to get along with and very responsive to questions. previously did a write-up on these folks but don't know why it's not showing; in any case, this is as good a time as any to do another write-up since i can now say that it's been maybe 4 yrs from the time pacific roofing finished the job and the roof is holding up pretty good. one comparatively small section of the job came out looking a little clunky but not immediately noticeable from most perspectives--there is some additional stucco or cement added to an edging but i guess it's better that they did what was needed to fix a potential problem instead of making something aesthetically pleasing but that would possibly break down at some point. if i remember correctly, they're not cheap but then again, they weren't as expensive as other quotes we had. based on my favorable experience, a relative and a friend used these folks and i've heard no complaints so far, so i guess they're good not just in this one instance but in general... read more

They also did the work for my next door neighbor, one of the reasons that I chose them was from seeing the work that they did. Nice people. My husband got at least four bids to do our roof, and Clark and his team easily stood out from all the rest.We had seen them working on a house just a few doors away and were impressed with their hard work, tidiness and compatibility as a team. They worked quietly and quickly and our neighbor was very pleased, in fact, she had used them before on a previous home. got roofing done by these folks about a year or so ago. the reason i waited to post a review was to see how the workmanship held up. it does. the leaks we called them to fix got fixed. the only thing is that a couple of places where they put up the flashing is not so even because they added extra building material (not sure if it's cement or stucco) to make it work but this is minor compared the task they were hired to do--replace the roofing and fix the leaks. my cousin's family and my mom's friend used this company after they saw our roof and no complaints on any front so overall, they do good work. they probably aren't the cheapest you can find but they were the cheaper of the 3 quotes we got. (my mom's friend isn't poor by any means; prob more the opposite--i dunno what it is about rich folks, they like to bargain and she got the quoted price reduced.) just an FYI: the owner's korean and his workers are latin but they all are able to understand and communicate well enough in english to get the job done. read more

My neighbor had their roofing done with Pacific Roofing and they seemed to do a great job and like them. I haven't used them myself.

Clark Ahn came to fix my roof previously and unfortunately the job was inefficient. I asked him if he could take look at another roof. After the proposal contract, I called him multiple times, even emailed and texted, but he did not return any of my calls. Today, I called him again and he finally answered me. During the conversation, I tried to understand the job procedure and the necessary materials required. Instead of removing my old roof, he suggested to add a new layer on top of the old roof. He asked for $4k (1400 sq ft.). I was shocked that he asked for such a high cost when he was not planning to remove the old layer, but instead throwing a new layer on top. I asked him why the estimate was so high and to my shock-he became very upset. He started yelling at me non-stop and hung up out of nowhere. Initially, I thought his business was greatly appreciated, however after this instance-I won't be using his company again. It's unfortunate that business owner does not care to respect their customers. Please avoid at all cost! read more

Pacific Roofing removed my old wooden roof after 65 years of it being there. They applied a new roof and copper gutter downspouts. They were very reasonable, cleaned up the area spotlessly and now I don't have to worry about a replacement roof for at least 30 years. The owners and the workers are very nice people and I would not hesitate for one minute to recommend them to others. After reading this joker Hava L.'s negative comments here, I can only say that could not have occurred with Pacific Roofing as I understand only the owner's wife takes all telephone calls. My rating is NO STARS! They never showed up for my Thurs afternoon 2 pm appointment. I called their office but there was no answer.

The owner, Mr. Ahn, is very quiet spoken, but he does excellent work at a very reasonable price. He replaced one roof for us last year, and our other roof and gutters this year. His men arrived early and worked hard all day. The first night everything was weatherproof and the next day all the small details were finished. Everything was left clean at the end of each day. They pay attention to all the little details that could lead to a leak. They will not do a "cheap" job. The guarantee was for ten years, which is better than anyone else I contacted. I found the company through Bay Area Consumers' Checkbook, where they have excellent reviews. read more

During the recent storm, I had a very significant leak coming through my bathroom. I desperately needed a new roof to resolve the problem. I received Clark's name and company, Pacific Roofing, through a neighbor who was very satisfied with the job Clark had done approximately a year ago. I contacted Clark who came out and provided me with a written quote promptly. He was able to get his crew out to tear out the old roof and install a new roof after the rains subsided. Clark and his crew were professional, knowledgable and friendly. He also installed three custom skylights that needed to be replaced. All in all, I felt that they did a superb job and the roof looks amazing! They were also thorough in cleaning up any debris from the installation. We had our roof done by Pacific Roofing in Nov 2010 which is almost a year now. We selected this company due to the length of warranty (7 yrs vs. 5 for most others.) given and the time they have been in business. Everything checked out fine with BBB and contractor's licensing board. The price quoted was very good comparing to 4 other previous quotes that we got but we did have some communication issues in the beginning. That was resolved later. The owner was nice to allow us to visit his warehouse to check on the skylights and materials that is to be installed. The work was done timely and cleanly with no issues. (I would recommend a walk-through of the roof at the end.) As with other consumers, we also checked Yelp's comments. We were confused by Hava L's comment(which does not make a lot of sense.) Therefore, I wanted to input this candid review from a true customer. I have also recommended this company to friends and family. If situation changes, I will update the comments/review. read more
