In need of a custom antenna install, I had called dozens of stores who were all reluctant as it required special parts and some extensive labor. Pacific Stereo was the only place that was willing to do the install. After my botched attempt to do part of the install myself, the expertise staff at Pacifc Stereo redid the install from start to finish, and still elated that it was completed.. The staff are quite knowledgeable and down to earth, and don't have the stand behind the yellow line attitude like other places. They had to order the part and had him pay up front for the labor & parts while they would "call" in the next day or so when the part arrived. This was Friday. Monday passes and Tuesday comes. My husband calls them and the part is still not in, "maybe in the afternoon" they say. He called in the afternoon. Still no part. Now Wednesday morning he calls and they say they can't order just one part that they have to wait for more to be needed to place the order. WTF?! It's been 15 years since I last had an aftermarket sound system installed in a vehicle so there was a lot of research I had to do in order to get my self current and knowledgeable walking into stereo shops these days to get quotes, etc. I went to a few shops this time around and although the price at PS was a bit higher than others, Amin stood out as genuine, enthusiastic about customizing a system tailored to my needs and preferences and didn't try to up-sell me. In fact, he talked me out of going with 12" subs and trusting him for the sound he knew I wanted- recommending 10" subs. I went with JL audio everything. And rather than W3, I chose to spend and get the W6 after much research. I was a young adult during the birth and height of the hyphy era so I've been through a lot of intense sound systems in my Buicks and box Chevy. This time around I wanted a "forever" system in a "forever" immaculate box chevy. Amin spoke with me at length, to get a good sense of what I was looking for. He even gave me his cell number so I could run ideas and questions by him before, during and even after the install. The sound quality and deep but very responsive bass I get from JL all around the interior and the W6 subs, with respective JL amps is GROWN MAN slapp. It is next-level sound quality that can still wake the hood up if I needed to. Amin helped me compromise on the price a bit and threw in a couple extra amenities that go a very long way. For the equipment I chose the price was reasonable and already fair, especially because they're and authorized JL Audio dealer so warranty on labor and equipment is not an issue. The system I chose may seem pricey to those who don't really care about superb sound quality but it's worth every penny to an OG whose heard and had many sound systems (4 15"s with capacitors, various brands and so on). I don't regret the decision to go with Amin and Mo at PS rather than saving some cash settling for other businesses who didn't seem to really care about what I really wanted, warranty, weren't authorized dealers and who may have cut corners on install quality, wiring, etc. I'll definitely be back eventually to update my SUV and daily driver sound. read more

I was referred here by my mechanic (shaun from Andy's Valero) a few years ago. I finally went with a co-worker of mine when she needed a new stereo/speakers. I recommend here since I trust my mechanic. She went before me and she was given a good package deal with the stereo and the speakers plus installation. They use a credit company called snap to help finance. I just needed a new stereo. I was also given a good amount of credit more than I needed but I was able to get the system I wanted. Now their variety is too limited for my taste, I actually only wanted a cheaper system but the sales associate, I forgot his name helped me pick out a very good one, top of the line that was reasonably priced. The system was also installed for me but they do seam quite busy so when I went the first time I had to reschedule it. When it was installed m it was done properly and Nate, who did the installation showed me some speakers that he said would be good for me to add since I did want do that in the future. His knowledge on the sound and the systems mechanics was very clear and easy to understand m. I totally recommend this business, they are quick, courteous and knowledgeable. I do think though since they are busy, they need to up their game on communication. For instance when they had to push back my appointment. I had nothing in my schedule but some others maybe too busy to have to reschedule not to mention come down there before finding that out. Other than that they are great! read more

Unethical and incompetent folks at Pacific Stereo Fremont. Buyer beware! I went to Pacific stereo for backup camera installation and after discussing in detail how they would route it under chassis with aluminum sheath protection, I paid $250 since I wanted it done before my Thanksgiving trip. When tech was installing, I noticed he was using plastic piping instead and when I asked Ameen, he told they don't have the aluminium part and need to order. I told Ameen I will be traveling to San Diego and mentioned I need my back up camera for the trip. He said if I need to get it installed elsewhere he voluntarily mentioned he would refund, no problem. I called later on Dec 1/2 to make appointment and no call back. I called couple times again and left messages with Mo. After a point I decided to go with a different stereo/camera setup and asked to refund. Still no call back. Finally got to speak on Dec 29 and Ameen said store policy of 22 years to never refund. 1) had I not observed, they would have silently installed plastic covering instead of metal. 2) very poor work ethics - they are not able to stay true to what they voluntarily mentioned re: refund due to install parts being out of stock. Ameen did offer store credit for the amount but if a service is not provided in timely fashion due to no parts and no call back to my appointment request, then I am entitled to a credit card refund. Beware before you decide to transact at Pacific stereo Fremont. There are several other stereo shops nearby who are transparent and honest in their dealings. read more

GO AT YOUR OWN RISK. Amin seemed solid at first but that's not the case (should've noticed a red flag the way his pants sagged). Sloppy owner and won't do anything if they mess your car up. These guys ended up frying my electrical system and when I went back this guy gets hella defensive. Pretty weird that right after the speaker installation my car isn't the same as when I dropped it off. He gave me a solid deal but their labor explained the price (left panels and screws loose). My advice is find someone you know to do any audio installations cause a lot of these shops are dishonest and seem sketchy. read more

So I went to this place 3 months ago to upgrade my navigation screen. A very pathetic and less knowledgeable guy looked into my dashboard for a fraction of a second and suggested me a $760 screen. The guy asked me for my budget and mine was only 500$. Somehow I bought his words and said okay and made an appointment for next week. They said it's a 4hrs job(I was like okay np). Left my car at 10:30 am and got a call at 3:00pm that they are very sorry because they order a wrong screen. The right screen will cost you 264$ more dollars!! So now my total went up to 1000$. I was still okay and accepted their apologies. Next day I got a call again and asked me to send a photo of my dashboard so that they can re-verify and order the right one. I sent them. Waited for 2 weeks and called them. They said it was already order it but hasn't been delivered. I was like okay np!! At last they got my screen and made an appointment. Left my car at 12:00 pm and was told to get it by 6:00 pm. Got a call from them that I can take my car the next day now. I said that I cannot be without car as I have an urgent meeting next day. They then rewired all the things and again made an appointment. Finally, got a call that it was fixed! I took a lyft for 6th time now and went to pick my car. But wait!! When I reached there, they said me that My screen was fit perfectly fine but my "Air Conditioning Won't work" because it needs a system upgrade. I was really pissed of now. I asked them that so how much time would that take. They said 20-40 minutes. Okay! So visited again the next day and waited for like 1:30 hrs and when I asked them the status of my car, they said they have to order a new part so that your AC will start working again. I was so mad at them, I asked them for a refund. There policy is 30% restocking fees!! Which means I would be getting 307$ then what I paid them. I got so frustrated that I didn't care about 307$ and got refunded rest!! Then it was said to me by the owner " if we knew this job would take a lot of time I would have denied you". I was like you are the expert and that's how you market your business. If I knew how to fix it I would have never approached you! It's like a doctor that doesn't know how to cure a viral fewer!! Stay away from this SCAMMERS AND LIARS. I am filling a complaint to the consumer court soon! P:S they love to talk and make fun of customers behind their back! WOW. Super impressed. I needed to get a simple stereo with Bluetooth for my boyfriend's 2002 Toyota Tundra. I shopped around at another spot and just felt completely ripped off.
