"Paco's taco's" is an institution here in the "Clem". If your from here, or have lived here any amount of time you know and love this restaurant! I've always been a fan. As of late however, I've been disappointed in my carry-out orders. Did they stop serving chips and salsa at the restaurant? Cuz the last few carry-outs I've gotten did not include them? For medical reason's, I don't always get to go with my family to Paco's, so I look forward to the wonderful, home made chips and salsa. I would NEVER complain on amounts included though, its always more than generous! I usually would save all leftovers and have for lunch the next day. Tonight, i got the taco dinner, which was yummy, as always. BUT, there was very little rice included. (1/4-1/2 cup, maybe)? With 3 tacos, plus a burrito and a very generous amount of beans (nearly 2 cups!) why no rice? We always ask (and happily pay for) extra salsa. This time, i received 2 very small plastic containers of salsa. Maybe 1/3rd. of a cup each. With a large order, that certainly can't be the right amount? I guess I'm hoping these last 3-4 carry-outs are not becoming the new standard? Other than the above, dinner was great as usual! read more

Awesome place and very Vegetarian friendly! I am the cheese taco guy! I have been going there since 1983.

My parents swore by this place as authentic Mexican cuisine... Boy, were they wrong! I ordered the bean/cheese burrito and it was completely tasteless. My brother also had a steak burrito, totally turned off by it. The chips were stale, the salsa was watered down and not fresh. The rice was dry and bland and looked like it was day old and they had no types of hot sauce AT ALL!!! The three flies that landed on my food probably enjoyed it more than I did.. even though I'm sure they were screaming "HELP ME" "HELP ME" like I was!!! Won't be returning. Better off with Chipotle or making a run for the border!!! read more

This is not authentic..not even close. It's bland, no flavor, kids wouldn't even eat the basic taco and said taco bell tasted better. Salsa...does a can of tomatoe sauce, onions and red pepper flakes count as salsa? Seriously, this was junk and disappointing. Very disappointed..will definitely not ever go back. read more

Paco's is a family tradition in my husband's family. They grew up on that side of town and enjoyed it growing up. Now we largely go once a year after an east-side cemetery visit on Black Friday. The service is... Meh. The food is Tex-Mex and NOT authentic Mexican. I've had good and bad tortillas, oily and dry cheese, etc. I do like the chips and salsa, and I enjoy the bean and cheese burritos and enchiladas with guacamole and salsa, but I don't go out of my way to drive to Mt. Clemens or anything. This year's visit was ok, but we had to ask the waitress for straws, silverware, the right size guacamole, the mild salsa we ordered, and half of my mother-in-law's order. So if you want a decent comfort food meal and have cash (CASH ONLY but they do have an ATM), go ahead. Otherwise go somewhere else. (PS, leave your large vehicles at home... The parking lot is awkward and tiny.) read more

Best Mexican food in metro Detroit by far. Everything on the menu here is delicious and very authentic, and the staff is always friendly. It's far from where my husband and I live but it's always worth the drive. I recommend this place all the time to people I know. read more

Great little gem of the Clem! Hidden away down cass, this is one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. I frequent it for lunch numerous times and the food quality is good and consistent. Parking is a chore, but worth it. read more

Worst Mexican restaurant ever. The food was horrible. Wanted shredded beef chimichanga and they did not carry it. Tried the steak chimichanga and sent it back. After one bite into , it was gross. They replaced it for a grilled chicken fajitas. The chicken tasted more like it was boiled instead of grilled , the sour cream was warm, instead of cold, like it had been sitting out . The green peppers were tasteless. I took two bites of the meal and left everything on the table. The ice tea tasted like it was watered down with ice water.. Everything about this place sucks. They need to close down the place. My first time there and I will never be back. Very disappointed to say the least. read more

Chips and salsa by Tostitos, refried beans you can still see the lines from the can on, and overall quality so dubious, it makes Taco Bell look like a Mexicantown original. Really disappointed. The waitress seating us just threw the menus onto the table as if we were putting her out. We then waited 5 minutes for another waitress saunter over. I enjoyed the Bonita as it actually comes with slices of avocado. However, the tamales are quite dry even with the Hormel style chili on them. The place is dirty. The furnishings are old, broken down and cheap. I knew as soon as I walked in that we shouldn't stay. Our friends like it so we tried it. Honestly, it was SO bad. Insult to injury, everything was separate so it was expensive! read more

Beans we're watery first, other parts of meal were like frozen banquet meal heated up !! Salsa straight from the jar..... Waitress was horrible, we asked for hot salsa didn't tell us there is a charge. Served our meal walked away then never bothered to ask if we need anything else. I expected Mexican it wasn't - it definitely is Tex Mex. i thought it was weird in the first five minutes and asked for mild sauce and they said that there was a charge for it, weird. Oh Paco's, my all time favorite Mexican gold mine. I have been coming here since I've been a child and I have never once had any complaints! Lets start with the salsa and chips, always so fresh and better yet free! I even grab some hot or mild salsa for the go. But, my favorite dish has to be the taco salad. YUM! Everything here is great and fast. The only downfall to this place is it's closed on Sundays and they are old school, cash only. read more

Always been pleased every time we've eaten there. Dine in or carry out. We Always order the chicken chimichanga dinner. Their portions are excellent and the food is great. My husband and I ate there for lunch and it was extremely busy (Cinco De Mayo) The staff was quite impressive. Been eating here for twenty years and have called it Pacos Tacos too! Pacos is the best Mexican restaurant in or around town. The decor isn't El Charro's but the very reasonable prices reflect that. Even tho they don't have a liquor license, we LOVE them. They are the everyone's favorite and a Mt. Clemens star. Food was only ok, i got the burrito and it was something i could have easily made at home and probably would have been better. The were very overstaffed. We had a seperate person who brought drinks, a waitress who took our order, a food runner, and a busser. There were only 5 other tables taken and two waitresses. I think they could have handled it by themselves. Not that friendly of people and dressed very sloppy. Baggy jeans and sweatshirts. I wouldnt go out of my way for this place. read more

I have been going to Paco's for a few years now and never had a problem. The last couple of times have been not so pleasant. the first bad experience was a couple of weeks ago when my girlfriend and I sat waiting for our meal for over 45 minutes and it never came, so we left. Last night was the last time i will step into Paco's. I ordered Guacamole and it took me asking for it twice. then i ordered my Steak burritos "wet" and they came out dry. i did ask for a cup of chili and did it myself. I find out today that the steak burritos aren't even steak, they use stew type meat because it's cheaper. so you are pay higher price for stew meat. i do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Kinda surprised by some of the reviews on here, I always enjoyed Paco's for their food and service is always quick. The food is consistent, the biggest downfall and a real pain is that they do not accept credit cards - it is 2014, time to take credit. read more

Been eating Paco's since the 70's ! Love the Hot sauce with a little green sauce to give it that special kick! Only thing I could eat when I was pregnant that didn't give me heartburn. Now my son eats things so hot I can't even breath it in. read more

Paco's has been a family favorite for years. I agree with the other reviews that their 'cash only' payment is a pain but they now have an ATM in the restaurant. I'm a creature of habit so I generally order the combination platter and I'm happy with that and I think they have the best salsa around. The hot sauce is smooth not chunky but I disagree with the person that said it's watered down - it's tasty. I miss our old favorite waitress, Tracy. I understand she is only there one day a week. She's one hard working waitress and very friendly. Lots of new faces now. read more

Pacos was a restaurant we use to love. But lately with the price increases and rude wait staff I won't be going back anytime soon. We always get carry out, as we have a 45 minute drive home. So on Saturday Oct 14th, we called in to get carry out, the person who answers the phone put me on hold for the take out person. I was on hold a good 4 minutes before someone answered. When I went to pick up my order I stood there another 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. There were plenty of waitstaff, they just didn't come near the register. Finally someone did and she handed me one bag with a dinner and a lb of chips in it. I told her I was missing 4 meat and cheese burritos and a cheese crisp and all she said was, let me get the carry out lady for you and walked away. I just paid $42! The carry out lady came over and she looked as if she had no idea what she was doing. I told her about my missing items and she disappeared in the kitchen and came back with another bag. I left and upon getting home realized they never included any sauce with my order! After getting a burrito Supreme dinner, a large cheese crisp and 1 lb of chips for just over $42, apparently they no longer include any salsa. Plus they charge for the take out containers. The only reason I am reviewing this place is for the people below that blatantly are lying about this place! This is a family run business that does a great job! They have burritos that rivaled the old Chi-Chi's restaurants! This is a NO FRILL, older restaurant that is a golden secret of Mt. Clemens. I have eaten here 100 times and have NEVER received stale chips or watered down salsa, I NEVER have seen a plate that looked like someone vomited in it and there is no way in hell that JOHN C payed $32.00 for two peoples lunch ...its next to impossible in this establishment. Obviously some people are out to give this place a bad name! If you get a chance you will see, it is not the best looking, up to date establishment but the waitresses and the food are very good! read more

I've been to paco's a few times, amazing food! It's probably the best Mexican food in this area! However the last two times I've been there I've had the worst service imaginable. This lady was so incredibly rude, so much so, she rolled her eyes when I asked for sour creme, or God forbid a refill on my soda. I love paco's but I fear poor staff may ruin their great restaurant. Ridiculous! Two weeks ago I got a botana for carryout. Got it home and found I had 6 chips, 3 tablespoons if beans and a pound of cheese. When I called to complain I was told the regular cook was on vacation. Got 3 meat and bean tostadas for carryout tonight. And that's what I got, plus cheese. Supposed to be garnished with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. When I called to complain I was told the woman thought that I wanted meat and beans only. Really?! That's how I've always ordered them and never was shorted before. And if I'd only wanted meat and bean they were still messed up because of the cheese. I would've asked for minus lettuce, tomato and sour cream. I'm done. Been a customer for years. I won't be back. Two strikes, you're out. read more
