Made a last minute detour to this place before catching a flight out in the AM. The Portuguese egg tart was perfect as advertised with a buttery, flakey crust and smooth, warm filling; honestly it needs to be larger than 2-3 bites for the price. The banana pudding and ensaymada were great treats without being overly sweet. I would've loved to try some of their unique drinks, but unfortunately I'm not willing to chug something before hitting airport security. The internal decor is sleek and modern and makes the place pop vs other places. read more

Been to a lot of cookie spots, Paderia is my fave. I've been to this location many times over the years, but recently I had this debate with my family that Levain cookies are nowhere near as good a Paderia. I think Levain cookies are as big and thick as Paderia but they're super dry, like scones almost. I stopped by recently and picked up 10 cookies, 5 of the chocolate chip walnut and an assortment of flavors for the other 5 cookies. I'm a fan of the chocolate chip walnut and would stick to that. The staff and service here are great. Once they take your order they prep it and make it fresh and ask if you'd like it heated up or not. The lobby area is nice and super chic and when I visited on Saturday there were people working from here which is odd to me, but they hold the space for co-working. They are located right by the airport so it's a great treat to pick-up once you land or if you're leaving. read more

Paderia is known for their Portuguese egg tarts which are so flaky and creamy. These egg tarts are a must try that this bakery! However, the egg tarts are slightly overpriced given the area but I'm just used to my local Chinese bakeries back home in SF. My friend enjoyed her banana pudding and raspberry matcha drink as well. I also tried their peanut butter chocolate cookie which was similar to Levain style cookie. I microwaved mine for a couple seconds to get the gooey insides melted, and it was a rich, heavy treat. read more

This place is a hit or miss. The girl making my drink made it and messed it up 3 times. The final product was made wrong again. I asked for oat milk and an added shot... well I got regular milk and and added SH*T. Because im lactose intolerant. The girl behind the counter spoke like a mouse. To top it off couldnt understand the gal. But anyways. Check and make sure they make your stuff right. Because for 10 dollars they gave me the doo doo of a lifetime. Thanks Paderia. Starbucks across the way would of been cheaper and NOT SCREWED UP MY DRINK. AGAIN. The ambiance is like any other asian place in the area. the cafe's interior was sleek and modern with a welcoming atmosphere! i love the wooden accents and the greenery spread around. one of my favorite places to study because of the large tables and comfy seats (limited seating tho) and lots of natural lighting! here's everything i ordered in 2 visits ! - banana pudding (5/5): the perfect balance of sweetness and bready texture. this is honestly one of the best banana puddings i've had! this is a must get! - mazpan latte (5/5): so glad i got this. i was looking for some hazelnutty and this did not disappoint! nice nutty flavor with bits of mazpan + foam! - strawberry horchata (3/5): not a huge fan of horchata but not bad! just can't leave a review without being bias LOL but my boyfriend really liked it! - pistachio latte (4/5): smooth and nutty flavor! but can't beat the mazpan latte teehee. it had bits of crushed pistachio so it was a nice texture to chew during sips. maybe a hint of butteriness?! interesting but liked it ! - banana matcha latte (3/5): had higher expectations for this drink but it wasn't their strongest solider on the menu... everything just kinda tasted really bland or some reason. and just watered down from the milkiness?? maybe i'll give it another go but i've definitely had better lol! overall solid 4/5 stars! the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful when it came to describing different drinks and personal recommendations :) looking forward to coming back again ! read more

Was craving some Portuguese tarts after a big sushi lunch in HB last Friday. We stopped by Paderia in Irvine on our way home. In addition to the tarts, I ordered a chocolate walnut cookie. I am not a cookie lover but I've had the walnut cookie here and it was just so delectable and irresistible, specially when served warm. I asked the friendly staff member/cashier what her favorite is and she said at the moment, she pointed to the ube cheesecake on the display case. Wow! I thought I posted a review for paderia back when I went 2 years ago but I did not. I think it's in the top five for me so far that I have tried in the SoCal area. The one I remembered the most from 2 years ago was the peanut butter chocolate cookie. They had samples of the pb chocolate cookie when I went three weeks ago so we got the cookies and cream and pistachio cookie instead. I really liked the pistachio cookie. The flavor was distinct but the cookies and cream lacked a little. Overall the quality at paderia has remained consistent since my previous visit. For example, the randomness they choose to warm cookies. The pistachio was warmed this time and the cookies n cream wasn't. While the last time I came 1/2023, the walnut choc chip was warmed while the pb choc chip wasn't. I don't know if they have designated cookies warmed or not or if it's just the luck of the draw if you arrive when they just left the oven. I think the cookies n cream could have been better if it was served warm. read more

One of the best bakeries in SoCal and beyond... I think I have the label correct but I will double check. The cookies are AMAZING. If you're familiar with Levain Bakery in NYC, these are CA's comparable version. Thick, dense, rich, and baked just right (aka not too soft or too crispy)...My faves are the Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie & the Chocolate Walnut Cookie. The only negative for me is that 16 oz of milk is $5.75 (more expensive than 1 cookie)! read more

This is a serious cookie... there is so much flavor bounding from each bite. My favorite was the chocolate chip with the sea salt on top. This is a real desert folks... don't joke around about this. You will be so delighted . We had the wonderful opportunity of sampling, their dark chocolate and their chocolate chip with sea salt at the Orange County summer travel, magazine bash. The iced americano was not strong at all, and tasted like it was super watery. I honestly couldn't taste the espresso at all. It tasted like iced coffee with water added. The barista added water and ice first, which it interesting. I would usually think that they should add ice, pour over the espresso, then add water. Honestly starbucks was better, which is a bit sad. This is my first time at this location. I've been to the other location in Irvine. The location is spacious with seatings and tables for people to hangout and get work done. I always get the banana pudding every time I go, it's a must. I also tried the Vietnamese coffee there and let me tell you, it's so strong but I love it! With the foam on top mixed in, it helped a bit. Definitely kept me awake haha. I also tried the Portuguese Egg Tart and it was tasty. I just wished it was warmed/toasted but if you're taking it home, I suggest putting it in a toaster oven to toast it a bit before eating. read more

This shop has limited varieties of coffee and tea, plus yummy pastries. Since I don't drink coffee, I felt my choices were limited but was happily surprised by the citrus refresher tea. I can see why this bakery was packed and have great reviews. The interior was beautiful and the food was tasty. The egg tart was great and flakey when I ate it right away, but wished it was hot and fresh. I would suggest to have them under a heat lamp so it would always be warmed up. The Mazapan coffee was unfortunately not my cup of tea.. or coffee in this case. It's a Hazelnut Coffee with a crème froth & peanut candy bits. The coffee tasted sour , under-extracted. I didn't taste the hazelnut coffee, but good thing the peanut bits helped shadowed the sour taste. read more

Was so surprised to see that I was the only other person in the cafe! The interior is gorgeous, there's oodles of outlets, and the ensaymada cheese pastry is delicious. I loved the Filipino inspired menu and flavors! The staff were super friendly and offered suggestions as well-- amazing service! Pretty close to the airport too if you work in that area. I love their cookies; they have such unique flavors and are so delicious!! Highly recommend you give them a try. I also really like the matcha horchata (although it tastes more like horchata than matcha, which I don't mind). The staff there are so nice and very helpful (especially when you're indecisive on what to get). I also study here quite often. Seating is usually open, and the tables are big. I love levain cookies so I had to come visit since I heard it was comparable. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and came in right before a line started forming. Service was quick and we happily ate our stuff on one of the seats near the window. Everyone there gravitated towards the sweets and the sweets display looked so good. The vibes were cool and could be a place to grab and eat your snack, but didn't have enough seats for medium groups to eat at. The walnut chocolate chip cookie was great! If you like a baked cookie with a soft middle then this is for you. The ensaymada was great with the added cheese on top. The Banana pudding was . I got one of each cookie-don't judge-but they were hard/dense but after the microwave they softened up. I got another desert too but I forgot what it was. The staff was super nice I'm just a little mixed about cookies. I'll go back to try again on the cookies but for sure that banana pudding was fantastic. read more

Yummy Portuguese egg tart and banana pudding. I was in the mood for something sweet and this place was nearby. The egg tart had a nice flakiness to it and was sweeter than the 85 degree bakery egg tarts that I occasionally get. The banana pudding to bread ratio was about 85/15, so for those that like more breading, I would suggest getting something else. I plan to stop by again to try one of their thick cookies and a drink. Someone said the cookies looked like Levain, and I agree! The inside of the store is decorated cute and they have complimentary tiny dog treats so I took one home for my little boy. read more

The line may look intimidating at first, but it's mostly because orders take a while to prepare rather than an overwhelming number of customers. If you visit, make sure you have plenty of time and don't mind being in a crowded space. The drinks were good overall, but definitely on the sweeter side for my taste. I'd recommend asking for less sugar or using an unsweetened oat milk option if available, since even the milk seemed to add quite a bit of sweetness. One thing that was concerning was the seating. One of the chairs at our table was already damaged, and a member of our group unexpectedly fell backward when it gave out. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt, but it was a scary experience. We showed the staff that the chair had already been broken. The chairs are quite small and delicate, so I'd suggest checking your seat before sitting down and being a little cautious. Overall, it's a nice spot if you're looking for a cute café and don't mind waiting, but I'd recommend visiting during a less busy time and customizing your drink if you prefer it less sweet.

I also noticed a fire place and a Television outside. Aside from their great coffee and Tea menu, they offer daily pastries, refreshments, small bites and coffee bean bags to go. I had the Horchata Latté with oat milk (available hot or cold). It was really good. It is made with 2 shots of their signature espresso with a house-made horchata syrup or base, steamed or iced milk, and a dusting of cinnamon. You could taste the quality of the coffee. It was really good. The coffee was a little strong. The service was great and prices are average. I really enjoyed hanging out in their shop with friends. They have several locations. The latte was delicious, sweet but not too sweet and the pistachio flavor was nice, not artificial at all. The croissant was also delicious, very flaky. Highly recommend you add this spot to your OC coffee collection!

They stick to a more traditional approach and don't add sweetener unless you ask for it. Lastly, the pourovers. Some people might question the price, but take a minute to smell the different beans at the counter. You'll quickly realize that not every bean smells like coffee. The tasting notes actually come through and you can tell a lot of care goes into every pour over they make. Most drinks, aside from the pour-overs, are around $4.50 to $7, which is a far greater value for what you're getting in sheer quality. There are way too many cafes these days that focus on aesthetics and end up sacrificing quality. This place feels like it's run by people who genuinely love coffee and it shows in every order. There were strawberry slices on top with a few mochi pieces, and a little condensed milk drizzle on top. The middle and bottom layers were just crunchy ice. This was also gravely disappointing. Parking on weekend evenings look to be challenging as it was for me.
