I really wanted to like this place, but the customer service was some of the worst I've experienced. The sandwich makers seemed far more interested in jaw-jacking with their coworkers than actually helping customers. I stood there waiting while they laughed and chatted among themselves, barely acknowledging anyone in line. When I finally did get my order, it felt like they threw the sandwich together without a second thought. If this is the level of attention they're giving customers, the owner might want to consider sending the sandwich makers back to sandwich school--because whatever training they had clearly didn't stick. I love everything about Padua just based off of the sandwiches, market, and design and after so many visits I haven't even tried the pasta yet. Once I get to that I'll update my review. Customer service from Krysta was a 5-star experience. She was so friendly, helpful, and full of kind and positive energy! The reason I'm giving 3 stars is for the food. I got the spicy penne with mushrooms and meat sauce from the fridge, and it sadly just didn't hit the spot. I couldn't taste the tomato in the sauce, all I could taste was the salt. It wasn't awful, but it was very mid in my opinion. My sister got the eggplant parmesan and she also wasn't wowed by the food. It was very underwhelming. Today my husband bought two Padua specials, we have always had no problem with our orders but today it was just unacceptable. Our sandwiches were not made the way we normally get them. They looked like they were made with leftovers not fresh. The lettuce was old the meats were old and they were both made with balsamic vinegar not Italian dressing like they have been in the past. At 18.00 and some change for each sandwich i was truly disappointed. I called to let them know and was told that the Italian dressing is made with balsamic vinegar and that it may have been they did not shake it up enough. not the case this was pure balsamic vinegar as you can see in the photo. My friend took me to Padua for lunch because she loves this place. It's a cute restaurant that's small and cozy. You buy you beverages from their refrigerator and they have a great menu with such fresh ingredients. We both ordered their Italian sandwiches. We got the 6" which is plenty for a man, and for a woman it can be plenty to split it. I got the "lunch " box which comes with a sandwich, pickle, a side and a truffle. My side was the potato salad which was good. They have parking on left side of restaurant but it's very small so I would recommend parking in lot across the street where there are plenty of spaces. I've been here about five times in total within the past year or two. I find the food to be very authentic and tasty, however, each time I've come in I have had very bad service. I love buying their fresh pastas because it will elevate any dish that I cook at home. They have a deli food section where you can get different premade things, pastas, sandwiches, etc.. Unfortunately there is one person that is full-time back there and she is a very unfriendly and disdainful and impatient. The Service I've encountered by the other people has been fine to pleasant.
