I had an awful experience here! I was excited to try a nail place that was more 'natural' but the polish barely lasted a week. I went back on the sixth day and the receptionist was super rude and told me "we don't guarantee our colors". WHAT THE?!?! There's zero reason for your nail polish to not last even a week. It had faded and looked nude verses the bright vibrant color I had selected. The same receptionist was rude to me the day I got my service and told me they didn't have time to do a French pedicure like it was my fault, the receptionist that booked my half an hour earlier didn't ask any specifics about the service I wanted. The nail artist was very accommodating and didn't understand why she even said that or why she was so rude! The atmosphere if very 'hip' but I prefer the more comfortable chairs and jets in the water (which they do NOT have). I also like my feet to soak for more than a few seconds which was the experience there, only a few seconds at a time. :( read more

My first experience at Paint was great a few years back! Fast forward and I booked pedicures for 5 of my friends on a Friday evening. There was an awful accident on 75 and we were late. I called and they said that they might have to do a different (shorter) pedicure for us - which we were fine with - and definitely planned to tip extra for the trouble. We arrived and got our express pedicures ($25), but they still charged us all for the $42 pedicures. I came here to get a gel mani for my graduation which was on Friday. Got the mani on Wednesday in the morning. I asked the very nice technician if the manicure would last perfectly until Friday. She said yes. I paid I believe $40 or so for the mani. On Thursday the top of the gel started to chip. Friday even more chipping and then half of the gel ripped off. I have had plenty of gel manicures before and this has never happened. The service and experience at Paint is wonderful. I really enjoyed the time I spent there and had a very nice conversation with the technician. I would go back but it was pricy and I am not very pleased with the quality of the gel mani. STAY AWAY! Prices are crazy high (and I am from NJ!) for what you get - I had a manicure and pedicure and the water gets cold because the foot sinks are so small! I couldn't relax because the woman and the pedicurist next to us was talking up a storm! I waited at least 25 minutes both times I came for a manicure, which was fine as long as she didn't rush however, when I was 18 minutes late for my 2nd pedicure, I was told I had to reschedule and would be charged $54 for the pedicure and $13 for the tip*! A total of $77 even though I was not getting a treatment! Kara told me that her time is money however, I guess my time is worthless! Kara was stone cold and could care less and I also spoke with a Manager- and she was equally snippy and unconcerned.... Needless to say, I will not be going back there again! My first experience at Paint Nail Bar did not have a good outcome. First I want to say the young woman working the front desk (and helping with nails) was absolutely awesome. She was so kind and caring. I wanted to love this place so much. Unfortunately my nails did not turn out good . I started with a manicure. The lady who did them was very kind and I hate to leave a negative review however the end result on my fingernails left me with a lot of chipping within 48 hours. Also the polish was put on thicker and thinner in some spots which left it looking very uneven and unattractive. I was told gel polish is strong and lasts longer yet within 2 days I have several chipped nails. On to the pedicure. She did a excellent job on my feet and heels. The polish however did not turn out good. It was put on super thick which didn't bother me at first, however I sat for over 20 minutes to dry. She came back and said they were good so I put my sandals on and left. I then noticed later that evening how badly the polish was smudged and thick and thin in spots that ended up looking like globs. Normally I would just not say anything but having paid nearly $150 I figured I would call and see if they could fix. When I called and told them what happened the young lady on the phone didn't show any empathy with a apology she just said "so you want them fixed?" I said yes and tried to get in within the afternoon window I had . She said they could not get me in within the free time I had that day and made me feel as if I was a bother. I felt like they shoulda tried to get me in when I needed as it was not my fault they were so messed up. I understand they may have been busy, but at least try to show some care for the customer who just spent a lot of money and woulda been a twice a month consistent customer. I then followed up with a email to them explaining what happened and trying to get a resolution, they did not respond or reach out to make it right. The staff on the whole are very nice but clearly working on tight timelines to complete their assigned client work. What I take exception to is as check-out when the desk person says "would you like to add 20% to your bill?". When I told her I did not appreciate her statement, she said "the staff works very hard and deserves it". Well, I can see they work hard but I think the amount of a gratuity is for me to decide. Maybe the owners should consider raising prices or sharing the profits if the staff deserves more. I'm not sure bullying customers into a larger gratuity is the way to sustain good staff. read more

We will NEVER go to Paint Nail Bar again! Last time we were there, the pedicurist recommended (not ordered) that my husband see a Dr. about toenail issue. Mine gave no such recommendation. We booked our monthly appointment and, as usual, in the last few days, we've been pestered with emails and messages confirming our appointments. We confirmed and arrived on time. However, the receptionist informed us my husband needed a note from his Dr. in order to be served (!!??!!) She then went to confer with some superior, but the receptionist who came back to the waiting area to speak to us decided it was MY nail that was the problem. Funny, but no one at the salon had alerted me to any problem with my toenails before! And don't they sanitize their equipment between customers? And finally, when they sent all these confirmation notifications, WHY didn't they tell us we needed physician documentation so we wouldn't waste our time and gas money coming for nothing? One more thing: we're not mask fanatics, but if they're so concerned about health, why wasn't ANYONE (but us) wearing face masks at the salon? read more

This is for the South Sarasota salon on Tamiami Trail. Be careful. If you leave a gratuity, they add it to the TOTAL of services and give that total percentage to BOTH technicians. For ex. my total was 136.00. I said 20 percent tip and they calculated the 20 percent tip on the total of both treatments and then gave that 20 percent amount to both technicians. Ex. 27.00 would be 20 percent of total. They gave 27 dollars to each technician charging me an extra 54.00 for tips. It should have been 20 percent of the 47 dollar treatment would go to that technician...etc...not 20 percent of total for both! WHAT??? Ummmm. no. Also, the timing is inconsistent, sometimes much less than what is described in the summary of procedures. Felt off. read more

So much to love. I've had "faux" nails since '89. I love the natural product they use, as it is so gentle on my real nails, no odor or burning. Janie makes them look so natural. And please don't book your pedicure with Veronica, because she gives the most amazing pedicure, I will be cranky if she becomes all booked up. Her massage is fabulous. Also, Chelsea does amazing work too. Love how clean and efficient this salon is. If you have faux nails, this is the place to get your fill. Seriously. I had been to a few other salons in SRQ and was always disappointed that I would fly back to Chicago to get them done. What a joke. I came here with a friend yesterday to get a pedicure and at first glance it was great. We were told to leave the polish alone for 2 hours to let it dry properly since they use all non toxic nail polish. We completely left it alone and even kept the toe separators in for 2 hours to make sure the job was pristine. Today, (one day later) I went on a boat and jumped in the water. 20 mins later 3 toenails were completely naked. The polish floated by as we enjoyed our Sunday. I got back in the boat to a text from my friend (that got the pedi with me) that said "worst pedicure ever. 4 of my toenails have chips in nail polish". We payed $42 each for a pedicure that lasted 24 hours. Congratulations on the non toxic, toluene free nail polish. But, if it peels off after a few hours in the water the next day, there is no point to coming here. The only saving grace is the girls that work there. They are kind and hard working. But if the product sucks, why return? I'd planned on coming back to get another pedicure before I go on vacation at the end of the month, but considering it's a beach vacation, I'll go somewhere with product that is guaranteed to stay on. read more

Wow is all I can say. From the moment you walk in to PAINT, you will realize you are not in a typical nail salon. First of all, there are no strong smells and no technicians using drills or wearing masks. Rachel and Andrew greet you with warm smiles and a glass of champagne or beverage of your choice. You relax in the waiting area which is more like hanging in your living room. The pedicure stations do not have those massage chairs that are typically broken, they have big comfy chairs with porcelain bowls because those whirlpool baths are full of bacteria. They use brand new tools for every client and your nail tech will explain everything to you. My hubby and I got "talk of the town" pedicures and uptown manicures. I got gel polish that is still holding strong 10 days later. The price point is in-line with many of the other "chop shop" nail salons in the area, but with the luxury of visiting a high-end spa. I was also able to snag a beautiful rose gold bracelet there, as they partner with local designers and showcase their jewelry. They also have tons of events with designers and make up artists. I highly recommend this place! There is a new location opening soon in St Petersburg and I can't wait to visit PAINT for all my nail needs. read more

Trust me when I tell you, mimosas and foo foo can't make up for a weak manicure with ragged cuticles that last three whole whopping days. I went here today for the first time for a manicure after trying to find a nail salon I trusted in town. The atmosphere was great. Everything felt very clean & bright. The nail file & buffer were only used for me and the clippers and cuticle stick had been autoclaved for sanitation. The technician explained to me that all of the polishes they have are "5-free" which I hadn't heard of before, but thought was really cool once she explained what that meant. Went in for a gel manicure last week, and the short version of the story is that it started chipping less than 48 hours later. When I walked in, they told me that they use an all-natural alternative to typical shellac polish, but that it's cured by UV and would last as long as typical gel manicures. I picked a color, they did a standard manicure (filing, buffing, pushing back and cutting cuticles), and applied their seaweed natural gel polish, cured it under the lamp, and then filed my nails one last time. I walked out pretty happy with the service. That was Saturday. By Sunday evening, I noticed tiny chips on two nails. By Monday morning, three of my nails had big chips on the edges. By Wednesday, more than half my nails had noticeable chips. I work in a hospital, and chipped nails can harbor bacteria, so I was required to remove the manicure before coming into work the next day. I specifically get gel manicures so that I don't have to worry about my nails chipping, and they typically last two to three WEEKS before I get tired of the color and have them removed. This gel manicure lasted less than TWO DAYS. I will not be returning to this salon. You can offer me all the free mimosas you want, but if your gel manicure barely lasts a couple days, what is the point?? read more

I'm very disappointed. This was not my first trip to Paint but it was the worst. I had an IBX treatment along with a manicure by two different techs. I had not had service from either before. The IBX was rough and catching on the sides. The nail polish was thicker on one half of my thumb nail and it had bubble holes. The polish started chipping and peeling within 2 days. When I was checking out the owner said if there are any problems let us know and we'll fix it. I hesitated about complaining even though I was unhappy because of the hassle of having to go back. I decided I was too unhappy so I called and was only able to leave a message telling them the problem and asked for a call back. No one called so I sent an email with pictures and still no response.
