My nail tech was very nice and this review does not reflect my overall experience at the salon. My low review is based on the price which is clearly intended to be a luxury service. I've been getting Russian manicures with hard gel for several years now, and I know from experience that the hard gel should not lift or chip for atleast 3 weeks. My polish chipped in one nail within 7 days and another two nails chipped within 13 days of getting my manicure. If you are expected to pay $165 for a manicure I would expect it to last more than 13 days. read more

Anna was amazing. What impressed me most about her was the way she used the cuticle scissors. She was so at ease with them and trimmed each nail in one shot. She really knows what she is doing. Very overpriced for what they're offering. My tech did a nice job overall but I had to come home and refile my nails because the shaping wasn't consistent. Polish application and cuticle work was overall very good. This is the first russian manicure salon I've been to that didn't offer rubber base so I was upsold hard gel because regular gel polish doesn't hold on my nails for more than a week. I don't like the hard gel, it's thick and feels like acrylic and will be a pain to remove. They also charged $15 to remove my previous gel polish, every other nail salon I've been to does this for free if you're getting gel done. I might have considered this a worthy splurge but another tech spent the entire time talking to the person working on my nails so that I couldn't even relax during the appt. If I had to grade I'd say B for the nail work and F for the atmosphere. read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. The nail techs here are extremely rude and unprofessional. I parked right behind Oblix, directly in front of their door. It was my first time visiting Oblix and there was not a single sign indicating the parking was reserved for Painted Pretty. I walked inside and politely asked the woman if she could move her car because I was blocked in and had somewhere to be. Instead of helping, she told me she couldn't move it for another hour and a half and refused to do anything about it. It takes two seconds to move a car, and I asked very nicely. She ended up making me wait 30 minutes before finally moving it, and at one point even threatened to call the police for absolutely no reason. The entire interaction was unnecessarily hostile and incredibly unprofessional. I'm honestly shocked a business would treat people this way. With customer service like this, I would never trust them to do my nails again. What's even more disappointing is that I've actually been here before as a paying customer. read more

When my husband and I visited Painted Pretty, it turned out to be very disturbing. We arrived and discovered that the door was locked, yet it was an hour after the shop opened and there were customers being serviced inside. The receptionist eventually saw us and walked over with keys and unlocked the door. After letting us inside, she oddly locked us inside. My husband then asked the receptionist, "I'm just curious. Why does your Painted Pretty lock their customers inside?" The receptionist responded, "Because bad things have happened in our store." Concerned, my husband asked, "Like what kind of things?" The receptionist didn't answer him. Instead, she became very defensive and asked, "Why do you want to know?" My husband then explained how he was a former law enforcement officer and a professional in crisis management, and that locking doors without emergency panic bars is unsafe (from fire or other crisis) and violates Occupational Safety and Health regulations. The receptionist from Painted Pretty just rolled her eyes at us and didn't even respond. She acted like we were trying to cause trouble. So my husband reassured her that it wasn't personal, but that we were just informing her of important information that could possibly save a person's life. But the receptionist just grew more irritated and angry and would continuously cut him off stating, "Locking our customers inside is a part of our shop's policy." We then explained that if an emergency happened and a customer gets hurt as a result, the Painted Pretty could find itself in legal hot water. The receptionist just went on with her business, looking annoyed. Obviously, I didn't feel comfortable. So my husband and I ended up leaving. I made sure to take a video of the shop's employees keeping the entrance door locked. For cautionary purposes, we plan to inform the proper authorities of the Painted Pretty's practices. We wouldn't want a customer or staff member to get injured or worse due to an emergency. I just wanted to share my story. read more

I really wanted this to be great, but it was not good. The parking is horrific. I wanted gel nails, but only got a gel manicure, which left my nails very short, and was too late to do anything about it. And unfortunately my dad's funeral service was in two days. The manicure was done well, so not the technician's fault, but whoever it was that booked my appointment. The pedicure was ridiculously expensive given the very SHORT amount of time spent. And the seating, seat and general configuration of the set up is beautiful to look at, but not the comfort you want when spending the kind of prices they are charging. They have all the best newest looks and colors and know how to get the colors you show them. They also save colors u use to a profile so you have history of favorites on file.
