The food is generally pretty good here, my go to items are the pizza and gyro. Sometimes there are issues with getting the order correct, and I'm guessing that most of that is related to how terrible the app (and website) is for online ordering. One time I had fries missing from my order and when i called back the manager said "The app sucks", but he got the missing fries taken care of. One word of warning, please do not order their new chicken sandwich. It is literally two very poorly flavored soggy chicken tenders with two pickles on a hamburger bun. Tried Paisano's last week for the first time and ordered/paid online. When I got to the restaurant to pick up our food, the cashier printed out my receipt and handed me a pen. I said I already paid online. He said I know but you didn't leave a tip and hands me the pen again. I felt forced at that point to leave one. I realize by writing this review I might be exposing myself as an ungrateful, inconsiderate customer by admitting I didn't tip online. I do believe in tipping and consistently tip at least 20% for deliveries and in restaurant servers. Aside from convenience, the main reason I order pickup is to save money on delivery fees and tipping the driver. I do try and add some money to tip jar if there is one but I have never been directed to leave one. Unless I am misinformed, I thought the employees that work in this restaurant have salaries that are paid for by the restaurant and not tip dependent. If not, then maybe there is a nicer way to inform the public (or maybe it is just me!) of this than handing me a pen and making me feel forced to leave one. Honestly, this wasn't memorable by any means. Only way I'll be ordering from here again is if it's solely for the pizza. Ordered cheesy fries, garlic knots, cheesy bread and pizza. I like Paisano's. They've been our "local" go to place for pizza/delivery eats for the last 5ish years. Their pizza isn't to-die-for amazing, but it's good, and perfect for quick last minute delivery options. They never seem to have the gluten free pizza available which sucks because I'd probably order from them more often if they did. I really like their other food options as well. Their chef salad (totally recommend switching mozarella for feta!) is the best fast food salad on the market. I do wish they chopped up their veggies though--not really sure how I'm supposed to eat a giant slice of tomato, green pepper, etc. in one bite. A little extra care in putting this together would make a huge difference. Their gyro tastes like a gyro, their meatball app is ok, wings are ok. We ordered Paisano's on Monday evening and I found it disappointing. One medium Margarita pizza and a Greek Chicken salad came to over $30 dollars! The pizza arrived with half the toppings having slid off the pizza. The salad was a mix of mostly fresh ingredients with cucumbers that were slightly brown and obviously less than fresh. Out of all the paisano's my husband and I have been to in Virginia this location has the best food and best service. We (well he more than I) order from here quite a bit and the food is nothing but exceptional and the staff are always so nice and friendly. We came in tonight and we were charged for something we didnt order, no big deal I'm not going to fuss because they're busy and working so hard. The girl immediately apologized- not her fault, an easy mistake said to keep the extra food, immediately refunded my card and charged us the correct amount. When she came back out she apologized again and gave us the corrected receipt, again I appreciated her apology but it wasn't a big deal to us. There is a reason why we always come back to this location and it's the fact I feel like they appreciate their customers and always go above and beyond. I really hate to write this review as I am all about supporting local businesses during the pandemic. This location has been our go to for decent pizza and other items. We even ordered from them most all of last year. I have experienced recent issues with quality of the food, the delivery or both. But I held back on calling them or writing a bad review because I blamed it on being an off night. One time, I received my chef salad with the turkey and ham being spoiled. You could tell instantly it was way past the expiration as it was slimy and smelled. I immediately threw the the deli meats out as only the salami was good. Another time, the pizza we ordered has been tossed around in the car because when we opened it, all the cheese had gotten stuck everywhere and you knew it has been not delivered with care. The next one was the chicken tenders. As another reviewer mentioned, they changed the vendor and the tenders they delivered were overcooked and tough. But last night was the last straw. I decided to place an order to give my hubby a relaxing evening. The order consisted of a Margherita pizza, an order of fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and Italian sausage, poppers and a slice of cheesecake. We were all excited to eat and started to enjoy our meal. When low and behold, I take a bite of the pasta dish and I the feel of the piece of "noodle" is completely off. I pulled it out of my mouth and see it is a 8 to 10 inch piece of plastic!!!! OMG! Both my husband and I were in shock and horrified! A piece of plastic mixed in with the pasta!!! This the part that is the kicker. When I call them back immediately to notify them of my disgusting find, the guy was like I can replace it with no sense of apology or anything. It is like he didn't know how to handle the issue. My husband takes over on the conversation and asks how the pasta is prepared which he responds he doesn't know. My husband then asks for the manager who comes on the phone. She identifies herself as Stacey and she too didn't seem too concerned at all. Just she said she could replace the dish and have it delivered again. It was my husband who told her he could send the evidence with the driver. Her response was ummmm, yea ok. I never felt once a sincere apology or anything. A child or anyone else could have accidentally eaten this disgusting piece of plastic and gotten violently ill. I know times are tough but they need to really up their customer service skills as well as quality control of every item they prepare in that store. They did deliver a replacement item, but to be honest both of us had lost our appetite and ruined our evening. Sadly, that is the last time we will order from them. The way the whole situation was handled was completely unacceptable. I have worked in the food service industry before and know I would have been mortified had a customer called me with this type of issue. So beware this happening. Too bad because we did enjoy their pizzas. But finding plastic in my food and getting poor customer service when making them aware, sealed the deal. Never again! read more
