Today I had lunch at Bertucci's, and it had been over 10 years since my last visit. I arrived alone before my guest joined me, and my waitress Elizabeth came right over to take my appetizer and drink order. She gave us space to settle in, then later came back to take our full order. I ordered a salad and a chicken dish, and everything was great, including the hot bread. She forgot my dressing at first, but she was so polite about it and even brought me a fresh salad as well. I also placed a to-go order, and she went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled perfectly. The service was easily 10 stars for me. I would totally recommend Bertucci's! read more

We went to this place for dinner last night. The service was great. Our waitress was very nice. The food on the other hand was not so good. The rolls were very fresh and the Italian herb dipping oil was good. All of the other food we ordered was very bland. We visited Bertucci's recently on a Friday at 5pm for the first time in a few years. We were seated right away. The restaurant was not too busy. While the service was friendly and prompt, when refilling ice tea glasses the server took the original glasses away with straws, refilled them, and brought them back. This is highly unsanitary. Either bring a small pitcher to the table or bring fresh glasses. Do not take used glasses and straws to the counter to refill them. Please train staff appropriately! The bread was hot and fresh but our pizza was not hot. The food tasted mediocre (needed more seasoning in pizza sauce and more mozzarella). Croutons on salad were stale. The overall concern was regarding cleanliness of restaurant. Heavy dust was on HVAC duct work, light fixtures and ledges. Windows were filthy on inside and out. The sides of booths were dirty and our table had tiles that had broken away from wall and just held in place by table. There were crayon marks all over the wall and well as other unknown marks. The Parmesan cheese jar was disgustingly dirty which I didn't notice until the end or I'd have said something to the server. The plastic glasses should be retired. They are opaque from too many trips through the washer and are scratched. Bacteria can embed in those scratches. The table was sticky and menus were stained with food. We tried hard to be forgiving but the more I thought about all that I was looking at the sicker I felt for having sat through that dinner. My family came in at 4pm on a weekday and stood at the host stand for an extended period of time. Multiple staff members saw us and made eye contact, but no one seated us. Even the person at the pickup counter retreated into the back to avoid greeting us. Strange. We eventually left because it was clear they didn't want our business. read more

We came in at 5:15-5:30 on Monday and was sat. No one came to touch our table and get beverage orders. We waited for a good minute. There was Atleast five servers standing around waiting for the rush to start. And talking around a booth in the dining room. We ended up walking out. I keep trying because I like the pepperoni pizza and they keep mailing me great coupons. But this restaurant has remained chronically understaffed for years. So even when we get a server who is pleasant they have too many tables to provide good service. We had to wait several minutes at the empty hostess stand to even be acknowledged and had to wait several times for our server to come near us to request refills or a to go box. We watched as several other tables throughout the hour tried to flag down one of the two servers working the dining room. The menu was recently revamped and two in our party were excited to try the spicy pig pizza which the description says includes hot honey. The food was okay but the service was terrible... one of the servers yelled at my friend for laughing and accused her of making fun of her accent which was not the reason at all and every time she came back to the table would bring it up even though that was not the reason she was laughing at all!! came here as a last minute dinner choice and was slightly disappointed. we came in an hour before closing and it took about 10-15 minutes to be seated/ acknowledged. everyone seemed busy closing so it was understandable but there was also maybe one other table dinning, so not busy. we were sat and when the waiter brought our drinks out she brought room temperature water. i asked for ice and never got it but i just thought that was odd. service was not great but nothing terrible was done the food was also not great. ordered the chicken alfredo and it was very bland. we cracked salt on top of it and it helped but took 2-3 bites and was over it. also ordered a large pizza and only ate one slice, the sauce on the pizza was super salty. my friend loves eating here and even he was disappointed so i am willing to give it another try but this say was definitely a miss. read more

Solid lunch and happy hour spot that is a bit on the pricier side. I appreciate the bread and oil to start the meal, but do keep in mind most menu items are quite bland. I got the Mac & Cheese which resembled more of an Alfredo. Taste was decent, but nothing to write home about. However, the service is great and is very accommodating to all guests - especially good for big groups. The ambiance is a bit dark - I would definitely prefer if there was better lighting or more sunlight peeking into the restaurant. Overall, would be back to try their wings and drinks, but will stay away from the pastas. read more

Service lacked as well since I had to walk up to a server and tell them that no one came to our table which by the way was one of only 4 tables. I'm surprised this place is still open. I went for the first time in 10 years and the service is still BAD, really, really BAD. The food was fine, so maybe that's why they survive. It was hard to get seated, finally someone showed up. Kids menu's were not offered even though 2 kids were obvious. The plates that were brought out were steaming from cleaning but old butter was all over one of the "clean" plates. It took a long time to get the check. We were brought a check for some other table at first. Then our check had charges for a 3-topping pizza when we had only one topping. Today we had another off-again experience at Bertucci's. It started when you walked in the door and was confronted with very loud and obnoxious music playing over the PA system. And these kids situations are always wonder where the managers are. The waiter was both inexperienced and inattentive. And we repeatedly had to search for him for refills or other needs. At Bertolucci's, the waiters are almost always more focused on cleaning empty tables than they are on waiting on occupied ones! The food was hot and tasty as it is most of the time at Bertolucci's. But the rest of the experience was so unpleasant that I would have preferred to have missed the meal. All the wait staff appeared to be... unmotivated. Not personable or friendly. Not unfriendly. Just disinterested in their customers. We have been visiting Bertucci's for a decade and keep going back for those rare times when the service matches the food. Oh dear. The struggle is real. I'd been craving the baked tortellini chicken gratinati for months and finally made the drive out here. My friend and I were seemingly the only patrons on a rainy Wednesday afternoon but it took us close to 30 min to get entrees. Once we did, I couldn't quite put my finger on what was missing. Until I was finishing the left overs at home. I assumed the food took so long because someone was out back hunting/butchering the chicken ... but there was almost none of it in my dish! They also took the capers off the menu which, in my opinion, is a shame. What a disappointment. At least the rolls are still good. read more

This location could probably be freshened up aesthetically, but the food is very dependable and of good quality with fresh ingredients and good portion sizes/value. I might recommend the ravioli dishes or the Chicken Gratinati among other items. They also have a Happy Hour and other frequent promotions and specials for dine in and/or carry out. read more

Had an absolutely outstanding experience today. My wife and I have been coming here since we were dating 20 years ago, and we brought our kids who loved it. We got the Artichoke dip to start, the kids got the baked Mac and Cheese and Lasagna, and we had the Tortellini and Chicken Gratinati. Great flavors and caramelization from the oven, nothing was oversalted or greasy. Our server Elizabeth was attentive, and made sure we got some extra bread to finish off the dip. My wife and I grew up in Springfield, and we were glad this place is as satisfying as ever. We'll be back for my favorite the Sausage and Rigatoni Abruzzi and the pizza. read more

The last time I ate at one of these restaurants was over 20 years ago in downtown Atlanta, GA. I stopped in on 5-21-2025 while running some errands. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza with a side Caesar salad and a raspberry iced tea. My server was "Joseph." This was a good experience. Joseph was just the right amount of attentiveness. The pizza was more than enough for one person because I had two slices for lunch the next day. Hot, flavorful and plenty of pepperoni and sausage. The side salad was great. The Italian dressing has a sweetness, yet tangy tinge to it. It was good!! I used the bread knots to sop up the excess dressing. The raspberry tea was good too. No need to add sugar. I used to live in Springfield years ago, and Bertucci's was our go to for Italian. I went back for the first time in 20 years and it was still wonderful! Elizabeth, our server, was warm and attentive. She noticed that my kids loved the bread and olive oil dip and brought over some extra while we waited for our orders. My kids were overjoyed. All of us got baked pasta dishes for entrée and they were all delicious. On our way out, Elizabeth packed us some extra oil and bread rolls and I was just blown away by her attentiveness. Our group had a reservation for dinner and sadly there weren't enough seats for our group. There were other tables set up, but we were told we could not sit there because they were for another group coming in. When we asked where could we sit or if we could sit at another location we were told we couldn't we had to sit with our group, even though there were no tables and chairs. A large portion of our group was seated at fold out tables with folding chairs while the rest of us were trying to scramble to figure out where we can sit. Some of us went to the bar to get a beverage, and the bartender was ridiculously slow mixing drinks and was out of the alcohol needed to make my drink, which is understandable however,that drink should not have been on the menu if all of the ingredients were not available. After finally getting a seat from switching with another member in our group that was done eating, we asked our server named Eduardo if he could bring out fresh pasta because the pasta that was on the table was cold immediately he snapped and said not to give him an attitude because they are shortstaffed and it's busy and he's been being yelled at all day. We were not being rude to him, but for him to snap and get an attitude was out of line eventually, someone who was supposed to be a manager, came over with fresh food, but never apologized for the mishap of us not having seats and for the deplorable attitude that Eduardo had with us. The food lacked flavor. In fact, calling it mediocre would be a compliment. The restaurant was very disappointing, especially after a long day of touring and the fact that we had made arrangements for a large group to eat and enjoy a nice dinner if you ever come across this restaurant please do not stop here. Ten years ago you couldn't move five feet within NJ's major retail corridors without bumping into a Bertucci's Italian bistro. When they were good they were decent, when they were bad, they had you praying for the culinary virtuosity of Olive Garden. Now the chain's last soldier standing in the sliver of land between New York and Philadelphia is closing. Over the years I've come to realize that on any given night, even an also-ran restaurant can be brilliant but it is generally the lack of consistency that brings down the curtain and puts a toe tag on most defunct concepts. Most bad pizza joints tend to overcook a pie, while Bertucci's specialty seemed to be undercooking the sphere. While not raw per se, there were several times that I might have been better off putting a straw into a can of tomato puree. As I sit here in one of Bertucci's last working outposts in Pennsylvania, I am sadly reminded that a few Easy Bake Ovens would have solved everything. RIP Bertucci's. read more

Let me just say this---the burger was heavy in the hand and juicy in the mouth with crispy perfect fries laced with a sprinkling of grated cheese. It also came with a side salad. On Saturday, November 22nd, I came to Bertucci's in Springfield, Virginia for my first time, at the request of my wife, who had been there previously with a group of friends. We arrived around 6:45pm, and were told that we had about a 20 minute wait. I put my name on the waiting list myself. 30 minutes had passed, and not one party had been seated. I counted ten open tables. So, I asked to speak to a manager. The server went to the manager, who was too busy at the moment, so she asked if she could help. I asked her if no one was being seated due to the restaurant being understaffed. This is something that I would understand, since there were so many open tables. She said, "In the restaurant business, when you're busy...," I cut her off, explaining that I had spent many years in the restaurant business, explaining that the only time that people didn't get seated at open tables was due to understaffing. She continued with the "busy" reasoning when the manager came over, and gave the same "busy" explanation. He further said that if I am going to continue with my attitude that I should leave. I will admit that I was frustrated, seeing multiple open tables, and waiting people not getting seated. In fact, if understaffing could have been admitted, I would have understood and waited a little longer. However, this particular manager was clearly upset, and struggling to handle the busy-ness with the 10 open tables. I knew, at this point, that even if I did ever get seated, it would not be a pleasant experience. I'm grateful, because my wife and I had a sensational experience at Johnny's New York Style Pizza, down the street, where we were immediately seated, had great service, and amazing food. I will never return to Bertucci's, for obvious reasons. I will be sharing this experience with all of my social media friends so they will be prepared before they try to go to Bertucci's. I wish you the best, because I do believe in the importance of the restaurant business. However, you have certainly lost my business, as I will not be returning. read more

Typically I enjoy coming here but yesterday was not good at all. Let's start with when we entered two men, who appeared to be managers or no servers, looked over and went back to their conversation. A young lady came over and seated us at a table quickly. Once seated we were greeted by our server. We wanted to order from the lunch menu but thought we were too late. She informed us that we still had a few minutes left to order which was great. Soup and salad took a very long time to arrive even though there were only three tables of customers in the whole place with three servers. The lettuce was not fresh wilted around the edges. The lentil soup was not very flavorful. Again we waited until eternity for my mothers entree. I got an appetizer of wings which was pretty good. Went to the ladies room and it was disgusting. Even the door handle was filthy. Just a little attention periodically would have gone a long way. In general I think that during late afternoon hours they don't take service serious. I think I will try again in a few months. read more

I came here with my father for an early Father's Day lunch because I won't be in town next week to celebrate with him. I had actually been here on a few occasions in the past, but mostly with friends. We showed up at right around 1pm and I counted only two other groups of customers seated inside of the restaurant. It was great for the two of us because the lack of customers helped speed up the service. We were greeted within thirty seconds of being seated, which is usually not the case anywhere. I already knew what I wanted to order which was the spaghetti with meat sauce. This came with a nice side salad and bread that we split between the two of us. 3.49 stars Better than Olive Garden (who isn't) but not on par with the pros. I must've had everything on the menu at one time or another and it's a good place in a pinch for "Italian". They have the wood fire ovens for pizzas, but they're small so this isn't the place to pick for a party. Pasta is so so but rolls do come with everything, even when ordering online. I'd say it's only worth going in person as mobile orders can get outrageous. A good family restaurant with comfortable seating and atmosphere. read more

Best oven baked pizza in the area. The manager (Rebecca) is absolutely incredible. Watching her tirelessly work on New Year's Eve to ensure all guests had a great experience showed me that this place cares. Good servers are very hard to find and it's been this way for the past couple of years but Rebecca is there to make sure it's not an issue. highly recommend read more
