If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The owner of the store seemed reluctant to let us enter her store. We've made a purchase here before, and this time we just wanted to browse and see if they carried a specific mask brand and BB cream. But right before you enter the door, they owners make it seem as if they don't want your business. They actually have signs which say, " no eye shopping," in other words, no window shopping. When we entered, she looked at us and asked if we were looking for something specific. When my sister asked if we could just look around, the owner scanned head to toe, then looked at me and my mom. she then proceeded to check our temperature with her temp gun. She kept pointing it right between our eyes, particularly with my mom. It basically defeated the purpose of keeping everyone healthy and safe, since she was standing so close, in front of us. She made it so clear that she did not want us there, and that she didn't want our business. I'm surprised we didn't leave this place sooner. If she doesn't want people to look around, then maybe she should just open an online store. I've been to many small Korean cosmetics stores and have had great experience, both within California and even in Korea. We often walk out with bags full of skincare! But honestly, her rude attitude is such a sad reflection of small business owners in Diamond Bar, and quite frankly, a terrible representation of her culture as well. read more

I already knew the man wasn't fond of customers but realized the lady is the same. I enjoy shopping here. The service is good, the prices are fair, and the products are genuine. Don't listen to people that claim this place sells "fake" Etude cream because I checked and the product they sell is the real deal. I really like the store's layout although I feel a little cramped at times. They do push the HISTORY OF WHOO products which is annoying sometimes because it's pretty pricey stuff but they also let you sample the products if you are interested and they are very generous with the samples. read more

DISCLAIMER: You don't have to be Korean to shop here. This store is not racist or cater to Koreans only. They cater to everyone, but English is definitely not their strong language. Tip: Bring a Korean friend. ;) With that being said... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I've been a customer for many years and have an account with them. I always pick up my Korean lotions, skincare products, shampoo, and facial products. They give me TONS of samples, too! I also love the fact that from time to time, they will send me coupons in the mail and/or flyers for their sales. Sometimes, they call me, too! I have never had a problem with service or products at this store. In fact, even though I'm Korean, I don't look Korean. I think it's unfair that some negative people (not going to mention names) say that they're racist or pushy with their products. JESUS CHRIST... THEY'RE IN SALES! When you ask someone in the service industry "What do you recommend?" and they're getting commission or they own the place, they will NEVER say "Oh, get this. It's so cheap." They will ALWAYS push for the most expensive product because you're stupid and you didn't do your homework. DUH! My recommendation if you are looking for Korean skincare products: #1. Know your skin type, what you need, and what you want as an outcome. #2. Do some research on some brands and ask your Korean friends what they recommend. #3. Don't expect the sales person to play 20 questions with you to find out that you picked out the wrong product. #4. Before they try to sell you their $250 skin care kit with ginseng, tell them "My max budget is $50, so I'm hoping I can spend this much." If you don't need toner, moisturizer, etc. LET THEM KNOW! #5. If you don't do #1 and #2, but ended up at #3 and got mad at #4, I think the stupid person is YOU. Don't buy Korean products and go to Rite-Aid next door and stick to your Oil of Olay, Revlon and Cover Girl because they're probably on sale. Don't forget to clip your Sunday coupons, too! A piece of advice for future (serious) customers: If I were you, I'd go in there and buy about 5-10 face masks (I LOVE these!) and ask them for a couple samples for your (oily, combination, dry) skin or whatever you are looking for. If you have wrinkly skin, baggy eyes, want to try new toner/moisturizer, etc. tell them that and say you want to to try out some samples before you decide on what you want to buy. read more

This place is THE BEST when it comes to find the most recent and amazing Korean products! I have read some of the other reviews and I can relate that I have experienced lack of customer service in other places because there is a language barrier in cities like Diamond Bar and Walnut. However, since day one, the manager lady and her husband working at this store had been nothing but sweet and helpful whenever I have asked about the brands that they carry and the needs of my skin. The prices are not cheap, but personally I think they are very reasonable considering they are imported and they WORK! YEEEESSSSSSS they WORK and they work in ways that American brands DONT. Is so crazy but is true and this is why I am a loyal customer of this fabulous store and the Korean products that this store carries, specially the ones that the ladies working here recommend. I have lived and worked in Irvine so I used to frequent the Palace Beauty in Diamond Jamboree. The saleswomen there are always so courteous and attentive, no matter what language you spoke, or lack thereof Korean. They would and still fill my bags full of free samples and explain everything - meaning how to use those products since they are in Korean. (On Saturday) Since they have it written down what you have previously purchased, I told them that I wanted the same thing as last time, which was a mask. Due to the same packaging and looking almost identically the same, the saleswoman mistakenly gave me a massaging gel instead. I didn't look double at it until I got home and noticed that it was wrong. Since this time was just a 1x-trip to Irvine, I didn't want to head all the way back to Irvine to exchange the product and remembered that there was a new one in Diamond Bar that was closer to me so I decided to try there. (On Sunday) Upon entering the store, the saleswomen did great me with ahnyoung haseyo, and I also replied "hello". Upon telling them what happened and showing them my receipt that the purchase was just yesterday (Saturday), I needed an exchange because the saleswoman in Irvine gave me the wrong product. Granted, I know I should've double checked and I didn't but she said "mask" but gave me "gel". The saleswoman in DB starts to get defensive and says that I cannot exchange it but would have to go all the way to the Irvine store. I asked if it was the same owner and she said "yes", even the sign says "only exchanges" BUT DOES NOT say that it has to be within the purchased store. She asks the other saleswoman, which I guess is her supervisor, and they both say "no". I was trying to see if they could help me out, you know? Same store, same owner = doesn't make sense with their faulty policies. The saleswoman calls the owner for me and says "ok, we'll exchange it." She grabs one of the shelf and just puts it there, somehow she needs the other saleswoman to... what look at it? (Even the DB saleswoman, said that the products looked similar and could see how the other saleswoman in Irvine got it wrong.) I have no idea so there goes another 15 minutes of my life. Upon finally giving me the mask, she doesn't give my receipt and says that I cannot have it back. O_o?! I said that they cannot keep my receipt but could make a copy of it but I need it back. She starts talking in Korean, and so do the other two ladies (the other saleswoman and the customer) talking about "copy" .... (Korean). Granted I don't speak Korean but I AM NOT STUPID and know that you are talking about me. This is not some foreign concept...you can't just keep a receipt WITH CREDIT CARD information. I need it for my records when my bill comes. I've LOST all respect for the people working here. I would never come here ever again, back talk, no prices on some of the products (meaning can tell you whatever price they want to), bad attitudes, and the list goes on. Amazon, it is! 5 stars may be too high of a review, but I was very happy with the customer service at this location. Pleasant, helpful, and prices are fair although some items may be a little pricey. It is a beauty store after all. --The Story-- I hate the behavior of persistent salespeople, which is quite prominent in beauty product stores. While there are many examples of this, this is portrayed in visits to stores where the salesperson bluntly mentions my acne scars or rough skin (I'm not the biggest fan of skincare regimens) and telling me I need to buy this $$$$ product. It's great they're doing their job, but it needs to be tailored to the actual situation pertaining to the customer. Sometimes they give horrendous advice, other times they waste my time when I'm in a hurry. The two ladies who helped me and a friend out tonight were very gracious. They greeted us walking in, asked if they could help (we politely declined), and then noticed when we were looking at certain products for longer than just browsing, helped us with very useful information. They were not invasive nor did they push us to buy any certain products. We told them we would grab ice cream at Rite Aid next door and they happily greeted us out and back returning to their store. The items in the store were rather pricey, but my friend bought two eyelash kits for $5 (wow!!!). There are items reasonably priced, and the pricier were those of higher quality. I bought face mist which I have been searching for a long time for, and they were very kind about reading the Korean for me and telling me their personal experience with using the different brands. They did not try to upsale useless products to either of us, which is something I highly admire in employees when I am shopping. Additionally when the lady rang me up she gave me several samples to try. For the first time ever, someone genuinely asked kindly about my acne by questioning, "Do you have any trouble with acne or scars? Oh, let me look for a sample for you," in which I nearly cried tears of joy for how merciful she was about my face. In other situations strangers criticize me about taking care of my health in a very rude demeanor even if they had just met me. It's a long story. A lot of shampoo and lotion products, but their foundation and bb creams lined the shelves at the counter. I usually find more products in a store like this, but it suffices for the typical lotion, body wash, hair products, and makeup in these kinds of stores. I might go back for those. This place is very overpriced for products that are not worth it. They had products that you can get for $5 anywhere else and they were selling them for $20. The sales people are not helpful at all and follow you around the store without asking if you need help. They are very suspicious and not sure why when they're just selling beauty products. I went here with a friend to buy a Missha BB Cream because I needed one and didn't want to wait for it to ship online, plus we were in the area so why not. Well, I called in first to see if they had the product in stock and what I found weird was the sales lady's attitude. She wasn't rude but she blatantly asked "are you coming in? or not?" I'm assuming it's because she doesn't want to check (I asked her if she had a certain shade) unless she's certain she'll get a sale? When I said yes, she asked "when? how much longer?' 0__o Jeez woman, talk about pushy. The actual store is nice and clean. There were tons of products, and I even found my favorite fake lashes-Darkness lashes. These are always a pain to find for me, so I bought a few pairs :) The BB cream though...they had my shade but it was priced at $35? WTF...they're only $12 on amazon and other beauty stores have them for $20. Kind of a rip off if you ask me. All in all, I would come here for lashes lol but other than that I would skip. It seems their Rowland Heights location got a poor service review, and unfortunately places like this catered to certain languages.. tend to be more old fashioned and.. shall we say slightly discriminating.. HOWEVER they all still want to make a sale so sometimes you have to kill them with kindness, especially when they sell what you want close to your house. :( That being said, I'm not Korean (above is what I've picked up from experience..), so I feel the Diamond Bar location seemed to do a better job less discriminating. Two sales ladies were working and they greeted me in Korean and I said, 'hello.' They asked if I needed help and I told them I wanted to look around first. (If you go with your friends, I find the best thing to do is just stick to English if you don't speak Korean.) They didn't bother me after that (usually at these places the best thing to do is not touch anything unless you're a serious buyer). After I absorbed all the pretty Korean products I couldn't read I went to ask about skin care! The younger lady at the counter recommended a set of products by Dr. G (www.beautyforeverusa.com).. So far I am loving it! I have their silver line mixed with their pink line as well as the eye cream, and of course, their BB cream. I definitely noticed improvement over the first few days, it really brightened my face up (both before and after product usage) and the BB cream leaves a barely there, glowing finish (medium coverage). I don't have porcelain skin, but I don't have tanned skin either.. It blended well for me. Overall I'd say that this location was friendlier than other little Korean boutiques I've been to (Shiseido boutiques for example). From the items that I picked out (I researched later) and they were retail price (without a boutique mark-up). This place also has promotion packaged products which I couldn't find online, so it'd also be great as gifts! I would definitely come here again and recommend this place to others. :) They don't carry all the brands.. But if you're looking for Laneige, go next door to H Mart, there's a boutique inside. read more

I hate this place. I keep coming back, hoping to have a better experience, but each time's the same. As everyone else mentioned, they treat you differently if you aren't Korean or are younger. One time, the guy was saying some rude comment about me (yes, I understand Korean). Another time, when I told the lady what I was looking for & the price range, she condescendingly said there wasn't many things that cheap. Um, I'm sorry, I didn't know $40 was cheap. They had some younger, english speaking employees, which I got super excited about. Unfortunately, she didn't know enough about the products to help me so I was directed to the Owner..sigh. At first I'll admit coming in was a bit intimidating seeing as a was a totally newbie to skin care and everything. The shelves and stacks of products scared yet awed me. The two ladies were super helpful though. I didn't speak korean and didn't experience any weirdness like some people have. They tried to help me the best they could in finding products that suited my needs and I always leave here happy. It's a bit pricey but I find that this is one of the few places around to get quality skin care products; unlike those that SA try to get you to buy at like Ulta or even Sephora. I will definitely keep coming back; and did I forget to mention the boat load of samples the lady throws in with every purchase? I can vouch for the other reviews and say that this place is racist and ageist. I think if they assume you're a younger teenager, you won't buy much so they basically treat you like crap. I'm a sophomore in college but I look 12 (still korean tho lol) so the woman treated me like I was invisible compared to the treatment that older women were receiving. The first time I came here a few months ago I wasn't sure what facial products I should get even though the sales rep was more than knowledgeable and helpful. Today I knew I wanted a skin regimen that could help with anti-aging. I'm not sure what their names were, I should have asked. I believe they were the owners male and female and they were more than knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. The difference with this beauty supply store is that she has a license in cosmetology and she has been a guru for contestants in pageants. They have many different products for different types of skin, most that were listed best products in Marie Claire, Pinterest, and other sites. They even helped me with suggestions for my daughters acne prone skin and gave free samples. They have membership which doesn't cost anything and you get perks like $20-$30 off purchases. I have been getting facials since I was in my early 20's. I go often as once a week, every two weeks, but never let my facial routines go over 4 weeks. I recently heard of Shana's skincare through a friend. My aesthetician left town about two years ago and I have been searching since then. I had my first facial with Shana about a week ago and I am going back for my 2nd facial this week. I am not searching anymore. I found my aesthetician.
