There are a lot of red persimmon nails and spa around here, but this one i guess had the best reviews? i usually go to a place back at home, but that's over 200 miles away. I needed to find a place down here anyways, so i gave it a try. HRS: MON-SAT 10am-9pm | SUN 11-7pm the place is pretty big. there was no wait because 1. my friend and i came at 11am 2. there was available staff i liked their nail polish and mag rack, but the one thing i wish they had for polish was a display of fake nails that had each color of polish they had available and a number to that polish so their customers would know what the color would actually look like on a nail instead of in a bottle. Don't get me wrong, though I chose a color i ended up liking just by looking at the bottle, but i know that others might have had trouble in the past. I will agree with others on how they should invest in more wall decor. Good thing I was occupied with a magazine otherwise i'd be staring at blank walls in front of me. Suggestions: 1. mirrors 2. paintings 3. sconces 4. plants & flowers I walked in wanting a pedicure, but was talked into getting their signature spa treatment which was $45, but we got it for $35. I didn't think it was going to be anything better than a regular one, but it ended up making my feet super soft and smooth afterwards. I would definitely get that treatment again. But I think they should keep the price at $35. LASTLY, i would like to comment on how they should create a space for a drying area. You know those tables with the special lights to help dry hands and toes? I felt rushed because they were putting on my shoes before my toes were dry, making my polish smear. They helped me fix it, but it wasn't as nice as it was from the start. I will say that it was my fault for going to the spa without flip flops. (I had strappy sandals) Overall, I had a nice experience. The music they played was listenable but I think I prefer something more soothing.. classical or jazz? But that's just me. Exactly: Meh. I've experienced better. My sister and I were walking around The Shoppes in Chino Hills and saw a sign for the new Red Persimmon. 20% off and free drinks and cookies for their Grand Opening Special! I couldn't resist a discount AND free snacks so we went in for pedicures. We were very disappointed. Besides the staff being friendly and the fabulous spa chair the whole experience SUCKED. First of all the place was empty. We signed in our names and noticed we were the first 2 customers all day and it was 5pm. Hmmm not a good sign. We chose our colors and sat down. The decor of the place is squeaky clean being brand new but it is very bare with no personality. Blank walls stare back at you. I suggested they put mirrors on the walls or some framed art works. The spa pedicure they gave us was so-so. I always get the foot scrub because I'm on my feet 24/7 at work so I know how it should be- hard core sweating-my-ass-off scrubs until my heels turn soft and smooth....but the lady barely touched me! That's the whole purpose of the pedicure and I felt it was a waste of time and money to come out w/o the usual smooth results. =( They had a nice minty lotion but the massage was weak and short. Boo. BIG MISTAKE: They never offered us a drink! They didn't give us any cookies or snacks! I f*cking hate going to asian salons where they give us crappy service because we're not old white ladies. Money is money people and we all deserve the same pampered treatment whether we're old or young! Last but not least the place was more expensive than other salons. The spa pedi was $23 when it's normally $17. We felt ripped off! The Red Persimmon in DIAMOND BAR is lower priced and has better customer service. Please do yourself the favor and go there instead! Hopefully, the RP staff in Chino Hills will read this review and use the criticism to their favor and change their ways. I don't know about everyone else, but I certainly enjoyed how much they've pampered me! I have been their customer ever since they opened and their service was excellent every time. I found this place through the 20% off signs while shopping with my sisters so we decided to take a look. And good thing we went to check it out because it kept us returning for their pedicures and manicures! When I first walked in, I was wow-ed by the contrasting colors, beautiful design, the number of spa chairs, and attractive decor. I do agree though that there should be some more artwork of some sort for the walls. For my very first visit to Red Persimmon, we were greeted by Anna who had a very friendly personality and offered us lemonade and cookies! My sisters and I were all tired from all the shopping so we all decided to get pedicures. We went to choose our colors and took a seat on the ultra-comfy and new spa chairs! I really enjoyed that because it's really nice to sit on a comfy and relaxing massage chair after a long day, you know what I mean? I was then approached by Shirley who provided me the exceptional service. She was very welcoming and had such a warm personality, unlike some I've seen who just goes right into business and tries to get you out of there asap. Shirley actually tries to make conversation and took her time to massage my super tired feet. It was also great how she made sure the water was JUST right to make everything perfect. I liked how there was a sweet aroma during the whole experience after she scattered the leaf-shaped confetti into the water. It was something minor, but pretty original I'd say. I was extremely satisfied with how my nails came out. My nails, I must admit aren't the prettiest things in the world, but I certainly changed my mind after seeing what they were able to do to it. :) I was also really surprised how smooth my heels were after the pedicure! During the summer I always wore my favorite heels (the kind that are fashionable but hurts your feet) which made mine extra tough and dry. But now, it remains nice and smooth so now I can wear all the heels I want! Probably the only down-side to it is the location because it is in the parameter of the mall but still in walking distance with everything else of course. I believe it's located behind the sushi place (RA?) near Barnes and Noble. But I guess it isn't a problem...good thing there's a parking lot right outside so we don't have to walk much. Hehe. Overall, I was more than happy to pay the price I did for the excellent service. AND what made it even better was the 20% off they promised on the signs (I love good deals!) Hmmm, I don't know about Shmily H. but I guess my sisters and I were among the first 60 customers to visit because I sure remember the cute gift bag they gave us along with icy lemonade and yummy (FREE) snacks! They don't do the pedicures correctly, they just want to get you outta the way to go to the next person and they are very inconsistent with their reward program. I fell in love with this place everyone is really nice, the massage chairs all work and fancy. They have a round nail bar which is different from your regular nail desk, the nail technicians don't talk there language about you making you feel that they are talking about you. Wonderful place! My friend and i got there 10 minutes before they closed and they still took us in! Thank god! i thought i was going to go another day with fugly toes! Really clean, exceptional service, and overall great experience. The chairs were really comfortable and the best thing of all is that they didn't cut me! YAY It sux to show off a pedicure witha band-aid on :( Anyways, i will be making this my new nail place because the one i go to accross the street started getting sloppy. It's was my first time here and I've been to many nail salons in chino hills but I never found any that I like until yesterday. The staff is real nice and the service is quick. A mani and pedi is $28. First off I got a gal by the name of Anna she actually spoke ENGLISH. Anna is really good, she did my pedi and I actually didn't feel any pain from her at all in my toes. The lady that did my mani was good too. The service was great they offer me water and even fruits! I haven't got this type of treatment since my good service in Arcadia from AA nails! I loved AA nails in arcadia but it's just to far of a drive from chino hills. The place is clean and the chairs are comfortable. They have a very LARGE nail polish selection with a lot of OPI colors. I love OPI and usually I would have to buy them and bring them to the nail shop but not this one. They even had the newest color Linkin Park at Midnight. They also have a lot of magazines for you to chose from. You would think this place is really packed since it's in the mall but not at all. I came in at 3:00 with no appointments. Came in here with my sister on a saturday afternoon. There was a 40 minute wait, but we signed in anyway and shopped around and came back. The nail technicians there are pretty busy, but they do an "okay" job. Not the best pedicure I've had, not the worst. A pedicure costs $19 without any upgrades. Callous remover is $5, and I think they try to sell it to everyone just to bump up the sale. The place looks clean. The tools and towels also appear clean. The only weird turn-off was that one of the nail technicians had been given a dog by a customer that day. So there was a little dog tethered to a table which barked occasionally as well as pooping and peeing in the salon. That wasn't very sanitary to me, but that nail technician wasn't doing my nails either. Can't say that I would go here again, but if I was in the neighborhood and had nothing else to do, I might stop in. read more

The ladies were nice. They welcomed me right away. The woman who did my manicure cleaned my nails really well. She got a lot of dead skin out, but I did feel some pain when she was taking out the skin. She was reluctant when I wanted to change the color of the nail polish, but I would have reacted similarly if I were almost done with the job. The only thing I did not enjoy was the nail art. It could have been much better. I did not want to ask her to redo it because I already asked to get the color redone. The price for a manicure is also a little more than I had anticipated. read more

I saw that this salon had good reviews on Yelp, so my aunt and I decided to give it a try. We had been disappointed with our last pedicure at another salon, so were looking for a change. So happy that we listened to the people on Yelp! The salon was clean, bright, and someone greeted us the minute we walked in the door. We were seated without a wait. The selection of nail polish was nice. The lady who helped me spoke perfect English and was very friendly. My aunt was helped by Mary and was very pleased, especially with her massage skills (she paid for and extra 10 minutes and was almost drooling at the end). I have come to this place several times and it tends to be hit or miss. They either do an amazing job or the service sucks. Sometimes they put you in the pedi chairs that do not massage which is annoying, but the staff is very good with designs and they use hot towels which is also very nice! ***UPDATE*** I went here, the chair seemed dirty so I asked if they could clean it. They did (although they were mad about it). Turns out I got an infection from their soaks. That same trip when the technician was cutting the skin around my nails I asked her to be a little more gentle. She said it was fine, a few moments later she ripped my nail off!!!' Blood and everything it was horrible. Then she said it was my fault it was damaged before (it was not even the manager agreed it was a mistake from the technician) then after we stopped the bleeding. SHE TRIED TO GLUE MY NAIL BACK ON!!!!! So my nail got ripped off and I got an infection that had to be treated with oral antibiotics and antibiotics in a shot form, all in a matter of one trip there. So just be careful if you do decide to go. read more

I've been coming here for several years now. The reason I'm giving them two stars is because I think the quality has gone down. I went in for a manicure and I think I got a new man named Titus. He did my nails so fast the first time that you can see how thick the polish was. When he redid the second time it was better but while I was waiting for my nails to dry I saw that he didn't get rid of all my cuticle skin. I asked him to do it again and he made it seem like I should've seen it and not only scratched my polish off he also scraped my actual nails. I was running short on time so I didn't have time to wait for him to redo it a forth time. I probably won't come back here for my manicure but the ladies who do the pedicures are awesome. read more

Been to over 20 nail salons, 30 pedicurist in my lifetime and this is the biggest and nicest I've ever been to. Nothing tacky like I'm used to and SOOOO UBER CLEAN. I like what they've done with this place. Flat screen 50 inch TV screens in the center that I can actually see. The most comfortable spa/massage chairs. 85% percent of pedicurist always make my toes bleed while I'm getting a pedicure. Sadly to say, I was numb to it and found it normal. Yvonne was gentle and took her time with me. No Bleeding I thought for the first time! I typed her name onto my phone right away because she was the best pedicurist I've ever gone through. A lot if the reviews on here are from over a year ago and do not give this place justice. This place has a very nice fancy salon style to it, but very reasonable prices. It is the perfect place to go to with a friend because you are seated at a bar and not separated like at a usual nail salon. Very nice/friendly staff. Definitely my new nail spot. I love this place!! The place so clean and nice. I went for the Spa Treatment. Never have a mani/pedi so devine! They have this chocolated exfoliate scrub that smell so good. My favorite part is the paraffin. Unlike others salon that dip your hand and feet in the same bucket with everyone, they dip your hand and feet in a bag only for you. I still could smell the chocolate after ( yummy). After all everything was perfect. I would frequent it more if I lived closer., but if Im in the area , I would go here for sure. read more

I visited this place for the 1st time yesterday. It looked nice when I walked in, but the service and product STINK!!! The only reason I went was because I had a gift card. I usually go to Happy Nails (which is fantastic) anyway, i went for a pedicure. My feet were in the water for a matter of about 2 minutes. i did not even get a chance to relax and soak my feet. The intensity of the scrub was painful to say the least, and I am no wimp! It hurt. Usually this is one of the best parts of a pedi! When it came to the polish...I think the lady was blind. My polish is a mess. I had the polk a dots design done and it looks like my 5 year old painted my nails. i am tempted to go back and have them fix it but I really dont want to listen to the workers talk smack in their native language. the place is just OK and i mean every bit of the "O" and "K"...i went on a thursday morning, place was dead...which i didn't mind. there was one worker that was a younger asian girl and she was EXTREMELY loud talking and it DEFINITELY took away from my mani/pedi relaxation. it got so bad that the lady doing my manicure almost did a happy dance (figuritively) when the other young lady went outside...she then whispered to me, "she so loud, all the time" LOL that did provide a good laugh BUT not professional at all. I mean do love the gossip but not at my nail shop :) the color selection is cool but my polish started to chip a few days afer, i'm guessing they may have started to thin the polish out since the onset of the recession???...i'm JUST sayin'! will i go back...hmmm...anything's possible and i live two minutes away AND they use OPI polish...my fav! we shall see what the future holds... read more
