I would've liked to have my wedding dress cleaned here, based off all the other nice reviews. However, the staff tried to overcharge me $320 for the cleaning and a wedding preservation service saying "your dress will turn yellow in 2 months tops you have to do it like this". Little did he know that I bought my white dress second hand and it hung in my closet for months before my wedding in October. It's still white! Taking out stains at the bottom of the dress does not cost $300, it's just bc it's a wedding dress they are trying to charge this. We just spent a ton of money on our wedding, the least you can do is give the bride a break and charge the standard dry cleaning cost. But thanks I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I have been a customer at Palace Cleaners for dry cleaning and alteration services for many years. Sorry that it has taken so long to write a review for this business. I have enjoyed my relationship both with the owner and his staff, as they are warm, caring and always happy to see me walk through the door. I find it ridiculous that there is a 2-star review posted from someone who did NOT EVEN USE the services of Palace Cleaners, but yet has the gulls to complain about the cost of service, stating that she had spent a ton of money on her wedding. Well, so did I nearly 20 years ago, and I remember my wife paying nearly the same amount to have her dress dry cleaned and put inside a nice box to preserve and perhaps pass down to our daughters. Had a great experience with dry cleaning at this place, but I had a terrible experience with alteration. This lady for alteration has zero sense of knowledge not to mention doesn't know how to talk to the customer. She's very rude. Doesn't let you talk either and overall whatever you bring to her, she just does whatever she wants without even taking your request and she doesn't listen . Just a huge heads up do not bring any clothes for alteration to this place !!!!! If I could give a zero star for alteration, I would!!!!! I've been a customer of Palace cleaners on and off for at least 20 years. The staff is kind. The quality of cleaning is the best I've ever had. You think everyone can clean dress shirts, but I realized that some cleaners use harsh chemicals that fade the color and texture of materials. I regret ever taking my designer clothes anywhere else. Great service and prices are good too. I took my couture dress on a Saturday after a wedding I was maid of honor at and it felt as if my dress had swept the floor (literally!) The nice lady at the front (which I forgot her name) assured e that they have specialty in cleaning couture gowns and boy she didn't disappoint. For $22 I got my dress back good as new. Amazing, family-owned dry cleaners in the heart of Glendale. I wanted to get my wedding gown dry cleaned before wearing it on my big day because I had dragged it around to alterations & had it for a few months prior to the wedding, so I wanted it to be freshened up. My gown is heavy and has a lot of ruffles, and I waited until about 2-3 weeks before my wedding to bring it in. From the beginning, they were very honest with me. When I called and asked if this can be done on short notice, they said they needed to see the dress to be able to determine if they can do it in so little time. They said they would and they had it done sooner than promised. They were so friendly I was excited to stop by and see them when I went in to pick up my dress. They've always had my order ready when they said it would be completed, including alterations, and I've been going here for two years. I also call them "miracle workers" since they invariably get out stains they say may not come out. Also found their prices to be a little less than other cleaners. I was visiting my mom in Glendale and she was kind enough to offer to bring in my dry cleaning to this dry cleaner who she's been a loyal customer of for many years. Of the five items she brought in, three had stains that were VERY clearly marked with red dry cleaning tape. When my mom picked them up for me, nothing was said to her about any stains now coming out (and 3 of them were still stained!) So I assumed the stains were removed since the store didn't say otherwise to my mom. I drove home to Orange County (I no longer live in Glendale) assuming they were clean, only to find when I got home that ALL THREE of the stained items WERE STILL stained! The only difference I saw between when she brought them in and when she picked them up is that had been pressed, were on the store's hangers and housed in plastic Dry Cleaning bags. (But clearly, she didn't pay for pressing and plastic bags; she paid for dry CLEANING so I expected them to be cleaned and if the stains didn't come out, for someone there to point this out.) I'm horrified that not a single word was said to my mom about the stains in three items not coming out. (Every the dry cleaner I've ever gone to will notify the customer upon pick up or leave a card on the hanger noting if they are unable to remove a stain. Many try to remove it twice and if they don't and you ask, they're happy to try cleaning it again for free.) I find it it truly distasteful that they said nothing to my mom (their long time customer who they've said how much they like when ever I've come in with her.) If you like her so much, how about showing her some customer service and letting her know that none of the stains came out instead of letting her leave your shop thinking that the items she paid you for were CLEAN? Terrible customer service and a terrible cleaning job. And your reply to my review clearly shows they didn't bother reading it at all! read more

I just took my clothes for the second time and notice a stain on the shirts from the stickers they tag on the inside of my clothes. These stupid tags have bleed through all my shirts and now I brought in my expensive shirts to be clean and now I walk out with permanent ink stains. Please let them know not to tag your shirts with these tags with ink. I'm taking all my laundry back this monday and have them remove these stains that they caused. This dry cleaner is a big disappointment, went there for more than two years and have been a loyal customer until they failed to accept responsibility for ruining three white shirts. I dropped them off white and picked them up with large yellow blotches on all three shirts and they tried to blame me. All three not just one. And they said I caused the large yellow spots that covered the backs and fronts of the shirts. They gave up thousands of dollars of business for probably no more than 60.00 in damages. I have been going on an off here for a few years and the only reason I go back is for alterations. The prices are high compared to other places and especially my cleaners where I take clothes on weekly basis. Alterations too are not on the cheap side but they do a good job so is rather pay a little high but get the job done right. A few times caught them miscalculating items even with the so called "discount" that they offer for regulars so I am just taking my stuff closer to work and home. read more

Absolutely taken aback by the attitude I received here. Our dry cleaning was listed on the ticket as a 5pm pick up. I called at 4:15 to confirm that the clothes would be done at 5:00 sharp, and not at 5:30. Sure enough, despite sending in my brother for pickup at the agreed 5pm finish time, the clothes took all the way until 5:30 to come out. I went in to express my displeasure with being assured a 5:00 pickup an hour earlier only to have my worst fears realized. Unfortunately I was met with people who clearly have no idea how to deal with people, and snide remarks like "there is no why in this business." (Actual words of the older man behind the counter--I challenge him to read this review and dare to refute that these are the exact words uttered from his mouth). No monetary concessions, no hint of an apology, no assurances of better future performance. The people behind the counter seemed solely concerned with refusing to concede any points in our conversation (argument), with a purely confrontational tone. These people are truly barbaric and should not be a part of your errand rotation. I've had bad experiences before and always wondered which would be the first to get me to join Yelp in order to ensure others would never have to deal with a similar experience. If you have cherished items DO NOT BRING THEM TO PALACE CLEANERS in Glendale. We think they might launder instead of dry clean to save money. And that is not all unfortunately. Not only dId they shrink three real wool sweaters that I trustingly brought to them after years of being a customer there, but the owner refused to accept the evidence (sweaters' arms had shrunk by at least 2 inches as shown to him by wearing them in front of him). Adding insult to injury, he made accusations over and over that all my "stuff is old thrift store stuff" (I bought one of the sweaters at Banana Republic last year, to which he responded that BR also sells old stuff!!?!). He is a self righteous older man and his wife was kinda hiding in a corner behind the counter, evidently used to his discourteous behavior. Not one time, did he say that he was sorry and would try to help with the issue. Do not use these people is my sad advice. Dishonest and unprofessional.
