a close up of a plate of food

This place is a joke they charged $14 for a container of fruit ... which had very little fruit and lots of cucumber. Never going back again. Waste of money!

One side of a beef milenesa torta (requested no ham). Where's the rest of the beef? No avocado?

This review is for their new menu. My husband I and were excited to see they started selling tacos and tortas, etc. 1. With the additions to their menu they need more people working up front. 2. The asada for the tacos were not charred. The meat appeared to be more steamed than anything. The color was gray and unappetizing. But they do hand make the corn tortillas and the tortillas are delicious. 3. My husband ordered a beef milenesa torta and there was basically no meat! It covered less than half of the bread. They also forgot to put avocado on it. Turns out they ran out of avocado and decided not to tell him thinking he wouldn't notice. 4. The asada empanadas tasted good. 5. The tamarindo agua fresca was good as well. Overall, their food is disappointing and we won't eat that again, but their raspados, mangonadas, etc are still worth coming in for.

The place is no longer a full establishment, they split it on two a restaurant and the Mexican treats. Price seem too high. Not many options. $7 for a average size mangonada, nothing special actually was a little off on flavor I couldn't quite put my finger on it. $7 for fresas con crema. It was super small and not worth it. Employees aren't the best, they were talking outside when we got there and no one was inside.

First time here and I ordered a Mangonada and it was DELISH!! It has chunks of mango and mango ice cream :) it comes with a stick of tamarindo which compliments the hot sauce they pour on it.

Really nice to have different options for dessert and like the family environment. Prices are great and won't go broke taking the family out for a dessert if you wish. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The store was very clean and the dessert was really great so much better then the old shaved iced. The strawberry real fruit is great!!!

I've gone a couple times and I enjoy this place. I just went yesterday and they changed the place up. It is now more spacious. More tables to sit inside. And it wasn't as crowded as the previous times. I always order the mangonada spicy its delish!

So good my son is jumping for it!

We were greeted immediately. cute inside with a full bar. a few beer handles too! even an IPA was flowing. it was packed. We were immediately served the warmest crispiest nice & salty chips! And the salsa... loved the salsa! I ordered the 1 item with beans and rice. $15.50. Cheese enchilada w/red sauce. The green sauce has pork in it:( our server was friendly and knowledgeable about menu. my friend ordered the carne asada tacos. I enjoyed my dinner. I would not rate the red sauce as my favorite. But it was good. I will definitely go back. also they have about 4 big screen TVs playing. Plenty of parking in back. I can't wait for warmer days as they have a cute little patio in front.

If disappointment had a flavor, it would be the fajitas at El Charro…read more I ordered fajitas expecting that classic sizzling, seasoned, mouthwatering experience. What I got instead was what I can only describe as lightly warmed, paper-thin sadness. The meat was dry, completely unseasoned, and so thin I'm pretty sure it qualified as deli meat. I've had better flavor from airport food... and that's saying something. No sizzle, no aroma, no personality. Just a plate that looked like it gave up halfway through cooking. Service? Let's just say it matched the food--uninspired and forgettable. The only positive is that this meal actually helped my diet because after a few bites I had zero desire to keep eating. So technically... thanks for that? Would I come back? Only if I needed a reminder of what fajitas are not supposed to be. 0/10 for flavor 10/10 for reinforcing my self-control

Came here to celebrate a graduate - on of course, graduation weekend. Considering how busy it was,…read morethe wait wasn't too bad. We had a party of 10+. Chips and dips were given upon being seated, drink orders taken, and were received fairly quickly. The chips themselves were delicious & so were the bean dips and salsa. For my entree, I ordered probably the most bland-sounding thing I have ever ordered. I ordered Dos Huevo's w/ Carne Asada. My plate was great! Carne asada cooked & flavored well & the eggs were also perfect. The rice it came with was decent, nothing crazy. I will say, oddly enough, on that warm day, I got a hot coffee to drink. The coffee was really good! I pretty much inhaled it, twice! Overall the place is nice, attentive, and good food!

We ordered a michelada and a Cadillac margarita--both were bad. The michelada tasted watered down, and the Cadillac was just plain nasty. My fiancé ordered the chile verde and asked me to try it. I literally had to spit it out into a napkin. The flavor was that bad. We came with three other friends, and all of us agreed we would never return. For a Mexican restaurant, especially a chain, you'd expect flavorful, well-made food--but that was not the case at all. Very disappointed with this location in Turlock. Zero out of 10.
