Palisades offers great burgers, steaks and other American fare at a reasonable price. They have a full bar with a decent selection of beers. The service is always prompt and friendly. They are pretty much the go to standard of Gunnison. My wife and I eat here often and will certainly be coming back. Enjoy ! read more

I have eaten at the palisades restaurant many times over the years. Always consistent good food at reasonable prices, love the salads.

This place was fine. I ordered the buffalo burger and it was good. I would probably suggest ordering your meat a little more rare than you like because they seem to make them a little more well than you order. The New England clam chowder was DELICIOUS. I think it's only a Friday thing, which is too bad, because I really enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. They offered us a table on the patio in the bar or in the regular restaurant. They do have a full bar, if you are so inclined. read more

Been hitting this joint over 14 years every time I'm in Gunny I seem to end up at this place with my friends. It's been through numerous owners but the food selections always the same just you average steak and potato place in a small cowboy town. Steaks are a little pricy for my taste but you can never go wrong with the burgers. read more

Truly the best French dip that I have ever had! Just the right amount of bread and meat..on a yummy french bread! The service is top notch and super friendly! Full service bar! The buffet on Sunday is the only place to try! The omelets and biscuit and gravy is amazing. The buffet is priced very resonable!! One of our favorites in town! read more

Even though it was 3:30p, they hadn't cleaned from the lunch service, so there was a lot of crap on the floor. The food was good, our waitress was very sweet and very good at her job. We were in Gunnison for a few days to check out the fall colors and ended up relaxing for dinner at Palisades. First visit we enjoyed the prime rib which was served just as ordered medium rare. Tender and a generous cut with nice veggies and yummy baked potato. We also had the seafood salad - fresh crisp and tasty blend of vegetables and seafood. My wife said it was a very nice meal. I always ask the server for recommendations and gave those a try on our second visit which one was the Portobello mushroom ravioli and was also a hit. $14.00 for a french dip. Showed up soggy and cold before I could even dip it myself. Cheese was clearly just slapped on, not melted at all. Still had square edges! $4.00 kids mac & cheese was clearly the same as the kraft boxed stuff. Also came out cold, and kids menu is supposed to come with fries and chocolate milk. Had to remind our server, who then rudely said, "Everything but the mac & cheese comes with fries." Not stated on the menu. Local here, wont be returning. Not the first time its been bad. I wish you could select zero stars, but I guess or server deserves at least one he was the only good thing about this place. Looking at the menu and prices we thought we were in for a great steak, usually a little higher price equates to some pretty good food. That was not the case here. My daughter and I both had the ribeye and my wife had the prime rib. To start with the salad was not very crisp,pretty plain it just had lettuce a small tomato and two slices of cucumber. But we came here for the STEAK when they came our plates were accompanied by a hitchhiker yes the dreaded house fly which we constantly had to shoo away throughout the meal. The ribeye steaks were Luke Warm, had no flavor other than the salty seasoning they put on them and we're tough as hell with plenty of grizzle to go with it. My wife's prime rib did not look very good either I didn't taste it like I usually do (we like to share) but it was so tough as well that she didn't think it was worth the effort to eat even half of it. Lastly the seasonal veggies tasted like frozen ones that were Luke warm to. For 87.00 for a meal for three without tip we were very disappointed won't be back. read more

My wife and I were passing through town we live in Colorado. If YOU are passing through keep on going. I had a supposed to be flat bread and turkey sandwich. The flat bread was more like a pancake. It was dripping a yellow watery fluid out the bottom. Turkey was minimal and cheap grade basic cheddar and u heated bacon. Came with a wilted salad with what was supposed to be blue cheese could not eat either. The ice tea and Curley fries is what I could eat. My wife had a chicken sandwich that was basically chicken fingers on a bun. Here is the killer for me not only is the food mediocre at best the bathrooms were filthy this was a Monday afternoon. NO hot water in the bathrooms. Sinks were disgusting with grungy slime in the missing caps. The floor to the outside patio was black. It used to be wood. The patio was littered with crap. I have eaten here a handful of times, the food is average- nothing special- and decently priced. Wait staff seems miserable almost every time I have gone. I finally went on my last trip this past Sunday, waited 10 min to be seated when there were obviously open tables, was seated and ignored for 20 minutes. dude if i could give no stars i swear. we didn't receive water until the end of the meal, had to ask multiple times and eventually just went to the car to get our own water. the food was absolutely terrible and my salad was a piece of lettuce with a tomato and some roasted vegetables that i was at no point was described as such. We have been to Palisades several times on visits over the past several years and the food was just OK. But a nice surprise this week when my dad and I went there for dinner and both of us had very good meals. The food was fresh and tasty. We went back tonight and again the food was very good. One of the best places to sit at the bar, have a decent meal, drink a beer and watch the game. They usually have the game of the hour on some small but plentiful TVs and will cater to your specific game needs if possible. They also have Buzztime Trivia games and poker on the Bar TVs. Those are fun. Staff is friendly and engaging. Great Western decor inside and for about 3 months out of the year they have sunny or shaded patio seating. read more

Unbelievable. How can this place stay in business. One year ago we received the same exact service. NONE. The same manager was there behind the bar, guess that says something. I passed up the $29.00 ribs, I also couldn't quite make myself buy the (3 shrimp) for $10.95 !!! There is not enough space to describe the lack of service..basically this place could care less if you ever came back. I also experienced the "sate of the art" credit card reader. What a joke, what planet did they steal that pos from. Guess they can't afford a typical payment system. They would be light years ahead if they just used the Square Reader for your phone. It didn't work, the bar manager finally manually entered everything and then to pour salt in the wound. Would only allow me a minimum top of 15 %. Considering we received the worst service ever I commented that amount was excessive. He acted like, "yep, everybody says that". What a disaster. Food was OK, one 13 dollar hamburger came without cheese, they took it back, threw on a paper thin wafer of cheese, I guess it was that thin in the hopes that might melt by itself. Finally found a place in Gunnison that can cook a chicken fried steak! The guys were happy, and my friend and I enjoyed the spaghetti special. I think a special should include a salad, along with the two pieces of toast. It took about 30 minutes to get our food. Our waiter was overly helpful. We would eat there again. read more

I would rate it zero if I could, first the waitress was rude, it was as if it bothered her she had to serve us and didn't want to be there. She served me water and slammed the cup down making the water spill all over my lap and she didn't even say sorry! She just walked away and I know it's not because she didn't noticed because I screamed because I was startled from how cold it was. Then the food took FOREVER to come and when it finally did my dads steak was waaay over done, hard, and dry, he had ordered it medium-well so he let the waitress know and her response was "Sooooo what do you want me to do about it??" I was shocked she would even say that! Then my brothers wings were ice cold! It was as if they had taken them out of the refrigerator and put them on a plate! We let her know and she became annoyed with us, took the wings put them in the microwave and brought them back, so now they were dry and hard from being nuked in the microwave. Crazy thing was that we were always the ones apologizing when really it should've been her with her ugly attitude. So everyone beware of the waitress named Taylor and hope she's having a better day or she'll probably take it out on you. All in all it was a horrible experience, I have never been the type of person to review restaurants but we were treated so poorly and this experience was so bad that I was impelled to go through the whole process of signing up for Yelp to write a review and save people from experiencing a bad time here. read more
