Very disappointed. We have ordered delivery from them and dined in and were very happy. Went for pick up the other night. The cashier and cook were not wearing face masks. When I asked if our order was prepared with a facemask on and the response was no. If they are disregarding safety protocols in a pandemic, I am concerned what other safe food protocols they disregard altogether. Very sad. Like to support small and local. Ordering on-line was great. Delivery arrived exactly at the time stated. Driver was nice. Crust was good. Toppings left a lot to be desired. Buffalo chicken was .... ok. Margarita pizza was dry and lacked any toppings/flavor (a little garlic, basil, and mozzarella). I came here for a friends 18th birthday a few days ago. We explained to the owner how we had come down to the shore for her birthday and just would like a small cheese pizza. One of our worst restaurant experiences in memory today. Came in on a Sunday afternoon at 2 PM. Seated ourselves and eventually received menus. They were not busy. After 15 minutes I went up to the counter and asked if we ordered up there, and the waitress said she would come to our table. Five minutes later she did and we ordered. After another 20 minutes she brought our drinks and my wife's soup, but no salads. After waiting another 20 minutes and no sign of food or salads, I decided to go to the counter and asked to pay for the soup and drinks and told the manager (?) to forget about the food, we had been there more than an hour. He charged me for the drinks and soup, and offered no explanation or apology. They are either understaffed or inept, maybe both. Will never return. read more

The pizza here is generic NY style meaning the sauce has no flavor, the crust has no character and is underdone and they don't put Romano on the top. It gets the job done (I guess?) but why would you even consider this place when Grand Apizza is 2 minutes away and a highly superior New Haven style joint. A big fat meh to this place. read more

Ordered delivery. Took forever. Received wrong order. Driver was reluctant to give change. I could have drove to the grocery store, bought a frozen pizza, drove home, cooked it, and ate it in the same time...and it would have been cheaper and better-tasting. Hands down the best pizza on the shoreline. It is absolutely NY style (suck a rock Tom M.) The crust is thin and the sauce is tasty. They have chicken rolls, and if you don't know what that is, it's because you have never been to a pizza joint in NY; and their grinders are served on sesame seed rolls. Amazing. read more

So, I went to Palmieris today, hadn't been in a while, wasn't happy with the quality of our food and they had screwed up a few orders, but I wanted a fresh made salad for lunch and they were nearby so I thought I'd give them another chance. Ordered a Cobb salad, got a big container of romaine with 1/2 a sliced tomato, green olives, black olives, roasted red peppers, jalapeños and a dry grilled chicken breast, very disappointed. If you don't know what ingredients go in a menu item, then maybe it shouldn't be on the menu. Not to mention that I was the only order and it took over 25 minutes to get my salad, but then, the cook was a little busy with his phone call. read more

Our first, but definitely not our last visit to Palmieri's in Clinton, CT. Greeting & service were perfect for a Saturday afternoon and the pizza was the best in CT! Atmosphere is casual dining in a renovated train station. It's small, but Palmieri's is big on flavor offering pizza; salads, grinders, and other Italian dishes. The couple next to us ordered salads. Finally, somewhere to get great pizza on the shoreline! I moved to Clinton from East Haven a year ago and have had a terrible time finding good pizza close by. While there are a couple decent places, I hadn't found that one restaurant to call "my pizza place". Not until this past Wednesday. As soon as I opened the box, I knew I had found my spot. I ordered a large mozz well done and it was cooked perfectly. Crust was slightly blackened and super crispy, just how I like it. Sauce was slightly sweet and fresh tasting, perfect! Just the right amount of cheese. As simple as a "plain mozz" pizza sounds, it's amazing how many restaurants screw it up. I can't count how many times I've ordered a plain pie well done and ended up with a greasy, soggy, "Ragu" tasting piece of garbage. Thank you to Palmieri's for making me such a great pizza. My family and I order out for pizza every Wednesday and we can't wait for the next! I am a big fan of meatball and ricotta and look forward to seeing how they fare with my order this coming Wednesday! read more

This place is horrible!!! Ordered a large pizza and asked for it well done. Received a lopsided, small pizza that was burned on the bottom and raw in the middle. The staff was also really unprofessional and talking about things that I really could have done without hearing. I would attribute it to age but they were all old enough to know what was a work appropriate conversation and what isn't. They are also over-priced for the quality and quantity.
