We were on the hunt for a cold beverage and a nice place to sit, and this is honestly the only place in town that we found that satisfied our criteria. We walked in and it was a little bit confusing that you were handed a menu, but had to go claim a table and figure out what number table it was, and then come back inside to order, it felt very disjointed. We noticed that it was happy hour, so chose two beverages that were listed, and they were out of one of them. My brother ordered a tap beer, and they never brought it out, we waited quite a while and then he went back inside and got it. It was a little bit confusing, since they had been so adamant to go figure out what table we wanted, and then they never brought out what we ordered. We probably would have ordered several drinks but since it took so long we decided to move on. The (I think) owner was outside, tending to the patio, and enjoying the music. It was a little overbearing, but I think he was just passionate, giving gifts to the children and being hospitable. The best part was the very good live music, and the large water they brought to our table. I also enjoyed the people watching since it's right on the street.

The staff was incredibly friendly, and the smell of the baked goods as soon as I walked in was amazing. I ordered a cold brew with a splash of oat milk, and I was pleasantly surprised that there was no extra charge. Even better, the drink was served with coffee ice cubes, so it stayed cold without getting watered down, a thoughtful touch that every coffee shop should steal! The cold brew itself was delicious and definitely packed a punch. If you like strong coffee, this is the place for you. I also enjoyed browsing the little shop while I waited. They had fun coffee mugs, funny quote stickers, chocolates, and even ice cream available. It's a cozy stop with plenty of personality, whether you're grabbing a coffee to go or taking a break from exploring Manitou Springs. I'll definitely be stopping in again the next time I'm in town!

I don't think I would ever make a true judgement of a dining establishment based on a buffet experience so I'll have to go back for a regular service to truly explore what the Cliffhouse has to offer these days.
