Pamela's is my favorite breakfast spot in Pitt. They are always super fast and friendly. The food is delicious. I have had the blueberry specialty pancakes and the chorizo hash. Their potatoes are yummy too. We havent had any problems getting tables, even when we visit during the weekend prime breakfast hours. The only downside is that your entire party has to be there to be seated, but there is no waiting area. So it is challenging for big groups. They are also cash only, which is so inconvenient. I am semi-retired and do not work the latter part of the year.  I go out for lunch most days during this period of time. Today I was too hungry to wait for restaurants to open for lunch at 11:00 or 11:30, so I went to Pamela's P & G Diner, 427 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon for breakfast before 10. There is ample free parking on the street. I add Pamela's to the list of great breakfast spots!  For $12.50, I had quite a meal. I upgraded the three-egg corned beef and swiss cheese omelette to five eggs for just a dollar more than the $11.50 menu price. The omelettes include a choice of side dish and toast.  At the recommendation of a friend, I had the restaurant's famous lyonnaise potatoes and two slices of rye toast, which comes to the table buttered.  Everything was delicious and I consider $12.50 for this feast to be a bargain, several dollars less than one of my favorite breakfast restaurants. My breakfast arrived in less than 10 minutes, which was great, and the service from Jenna was pleasant and efficient. I would recommend to anyone who wants to try this spot to go on a weekday if possible.  The restaurant is small and there can be a wait to get in on weekends. This is a Pittsburgh staple. The modern 50s vibe is original and cool. We got the classic hot cakes and burger. Everything was great. The hot cakes had an awesome crisp to the edges. The burger was well cooked and had a good amount of bacon. Our waitress was great. Very attentive. Definitely will be back. read more

Pamela's is usually very packed, which makes it difficult to wait. I finally came at a good time that wasn't super busy! Wow! It definitely is worth the hype! So good! The food is the most important thing and it is amazing. Those crepe pancake hotcakes are incredible. The banana ones are my favorite, but the strawberry ones are terrific too. Hashes are good if you like hash. The Lyonnaise potatoes are amazing and I would recommend everyone get them to complete their meal. It's busy and crowded and I came with a group of 10. Some of the staff were noticeably put out by this and they were irritated when other staff tried to accommodate by combining tables. read more

It took 20 minutes to get seated and people came in after us and got a table right away. Then the waitress complained about her tip. "You're not worth my time". Even though I am a loyal customer and always tip. A server should not complain. Customers should have respect and not me yelled at in the middle of the restaurant for not tipping. From the moment I walked in to this location I felt rushed. The waitress asked if we were ready about 5 times. By the fifth time I just threw an order at her because I felt obligated to do so. The runner brought our food out, our waitress was inattentive. I asked for ketchup and hot sauce and you would have thought I asked her for 1 million dollars with the strange attitude I received. Had the day off recently so we made our way to Pamela's Diner which is one of our favs. Their crepe style pancakes are simply the best, and no other pancakes come close in my opinion. This place is an actual hole. Pamela's has taken such a downhill turn it's insane. First of all- they are still as over priced as ever and now serve you everything on paper absolutely looking out for the environment. I went in and paid $3.50 for a side of strawberries and $2.00 for a side of bananas for my daughters pancakes and I kid you not when I say I got a fourth of a banana and 2 cut up strawberries presented in a small styrofoam ramekin. To make matters worse- I needed to be in and out to take my daughter to dance this morning. Checked Facebook, they open at 7:30. Checked google, they open at 7:30. I CALLED THEM ON THE PHONE AND SPOKE TO A HUMAN BEING WHO TOLD ME THEY WERE OPEN. I show up at 7:40 to be told they are closed. Run away from this dumpster fire. read more

This place is great. I came here for breakfast this morning before a day full of meetings and really enjoyed the experience. The service was excellent as several servers checked on me during my time here and the food came out fast. The eggs over easy came out perfect, the two slices of wheat were huge, the sausage links were basic but tasty, and the potatoes were good and plentiful. I was unable to finish the potatoes as their were so many. Breakfast and OJ cost me $13, which I felt was fair. Overall, this was a great experience and I'd definitely return. read more

Probably the last option I'd choose for breakfast moving forward. The picture attached was a nine dollar BLT which lasted about three bites for each sandwich half. Service was subpar - my wife and I ordered coffees, and hers was about half full compared to mine. We were done with our meal by the time our server even asked if we needed refills on coffee or water (which we needed when the food was delivered). We haven't had issues at any other Pamela's location in the city and we certainly don't plan on coming back here any time soon. read more

I've been to all of the Pamela's locations and they all serve up the same consistency and quality for a reasonable price! (Side note: If it's been awhile since you've visited, they are no longer cash only and do take credit cards now!) If you are looking for a trendy, boujie brunch spot, stop reading. Pamela's gives 1950s poodle skirts and soda float vibes. With a classic breakfast menu featuring the famous crepe-style pancakes (I promise you can't go wrong with either the strawberry hotcakes (tip: ask for extra brown sugar) or the banana chocolate chip hotcakes), their large portions will leave you more than satisfied. Expect very simple drinks - simple brewed coffee, hot chocolate, hot tea, and several juices make up their breakfast beverage selections. And while no matter the time of day I visit, I always opt for one of the two aforementioned crepe flavors, so I've never tried their lunch selections. The lunch menu is uncomplicated featuring mostly sandwiches and salads with a variety of sides, but I have no doubt it would be tasty! We as a family stopped in today for brunch at P&G Pamela's Diner. This is one of a couple of locations, the better known among them is located around the Pitt U campus. The food was exceptional. We sampled the chocolate waffle, pancakes, strawberry french toast, and my favorite among them, corned beef omelet. Our server was proactive, friendly, and willing to find ways to make my kids smile. I highly recommend this eatery for any outing in the area. Pros: meals are priced below average for most American-fare and diner-styled restaurants. Food quality is better than I expected, and portions are larger than most. Staff is swift, friendly, and accomodating. Cons: parking is minimal, but this is true for most businesses in the Mt. Lebanon area. I only cite this because the parking lot and on-street spaces are very small and difficult to maneuver into. read more

I've been to this location and the one in Oakland. Both visits, I've always enjoyed the food. They don't have a huge selection but the food is very good. I love how their pancakes are crepe style. Best of both worlds! Eggs and sausage both came out fresh and tested great. Coffee was good too. The one we visited today is dog friendly with outside seating. One of the employees even brought our dog water and a slice of bacon! Super nice! The one small issue is the "cash only" payment option. If they only had one restaurant, I could understand it Pamela's has several locations in Pittsburgh. Time to invest and get mobile and card payments! Immediately upon walking in you get that old diner feel. Lots of chit chatting and people waiting for tables as the busy waitresses hurry to wipe down tables. We didn't wait long, maybe 5 minutes at the most on a Friday morning around 10am. We ordered three meals for the two of us, two savory and one sweet. It was all fantastic. The toast was a little too soaked in butter, but what did we expect from an old school diner? Still delicious. As tourists, we didn't know we had to pay in only cash. But the ATM was right around the corner and a very convenient 45 second walk. It could have been a little cleaner, but they were very busy. Good service for how busy they were. First time at this Pamela's location. I've been to the other locations numerous times and always look forward to eating at Pamela's when visiting The Burgh. The front entry was packed upon entering but we waited less than 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered our food (blueberry hotcakes, hotcake regular stack, sides of eggs and bacon) and the food came out in less than 5 minutes. They are excellent with the turnaround time between coming in and out. The food is consistently good and never disappoints- would be 5 stars but it was missing the welcoming customer service factor (though we understand with the high volume of customers entering that the food production takes precedence over the extra step with customer service that we have grown to love about the Burgh) Would still recommend any Pamela's location for someone visiting the Burgh:) read more

I visited this location a couple of weeks ago for a quick bite and had a omelette wonderful experience. I ordered the omelette and it came with fries and toast and was piping hot. I swear it seemed like I blinked twice and before I knew it, my server was bringing my food. Lightening fast service!! Very pleased with the meal, the price and the service that I returned twice in the same week. I tried the crepe style pancakes and they were very tasty.
