It was good, but it is no longer in business. It started out great, best reuben ever! For whatever reason, it really went down hill.

We are mocha connoisseurs and didn't have high expectations. I will happily admit we were very wrong. Les Cheneaux opened their new building, right on the water, in January. It is beautiful; warm, spacious, contemporary and inviting. Plenty of room to sit, relax and gather with friends. And their deck. Wow. Beautiful waterfront views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Felt right at home. We ordered 16 oz mochas in mugs. They were steamy hot, creamy and beautiful. The taste was rich and smooth without being too sweet; just the way we like them. After viewing another customer's breakfast burrito, we decided to each try them. The food menu is limited to bagels, bagel egg sandwiches and burritos. We had the chorizo egg burrito with potatoes. It was excellent. With a small park next door, a library across the street and plenty of room to stretch your legs and walk along the water's edge, this cafe is a winner. We are already planning a return visit that will include daily visits to Lesl Cheneaux Coffee Roasters. Next trip, we will purchase beans and bring the good flavors home with us.

Our server Lisa was so warm and friendly (as if she was your mother) and took great care of us! Got the parmesan topped whitefish with creamy mushroom soup and coleslaw. The mushroom soup was creamy and hearty. I liked the coleslaw - just the right amount of sweet and sour for me. I enjoyed the fish very much. We would have gotten some desserts but we were so full. We did see that the cheesecake slices were huge! Would definitely recommend this place!

To place a carry out order, you must come inside and sit down at a table, then tell your server that you want to place a to go order. Lisa was helpful, told me the order would be out pretty quickly, and she brought me a glass of water for while I waited. I ordered the mackinaw burger with onion rings, and hot ham and cheese with fries. I also ordered a coconut cream pie and a Dutch cherry pie slice. All of this was to go, and she packed it up and brought me carry-bags for it. The coconut cream pie was good. The Dutch cherry was ok but, I have had better. The French fries were good--crispy and lightly seasoned. The onion rings were large and hot/fresh, but they are battered (I prefer breaded), and they are pretty greasy. The burger was nice sized and cooked well done, which I like. It came with cheese, lots of pickles, relish, lots of mustard, and just a little ketchup. The hot ham and cheese was okay. I chose white bread rather than rye or wheat. The bread was not special--seemed like white bread you'd buy at any grocery in a plastic wrapper. There's an up-charge for the onion rings. I say skip that and get the fries. For the 2 sandwiches, 1 with fries, one with onion rings, and 2 pieces of pie, my bill was $51.36 before any tip added on. I get that it's a short season up north here, so I expect everything to be a little pricey. If the burger had a bit of char and came on an upscale bun, if the hot ham and cheese came on a thicker toasted bread, I'd say ok. But for what we got, it was overpriced.

Everything was clean, well organized, and overall impressive. The service was quick once we entered and grabbed our seat. My girlfriend had a Bone-in buffalo basket. I got the Zuess Gyro with fries which had beef tips inside rather than lamb. Our food came out reasonably quick - less than 10 minutes. It is worth mentioning that the fries came in at an extra $3.95 which I thought to be steep for French fries. When my food had arrived, it did not have the fries I ordered, so I let the waitress know who was very nice and not only took off the extra charge from the fries but also got me an order of the fries. The gyro was delicious, but as a fan of gyros, I'm not sure I'd get it again. There were a lot of bites with the pita, sauce, and veggies rather than the meat. Additionally, any bite I had with meat in it was a mouthful and had trouble chewing at times (due to the size of the beef tips). The pretzel poppers were phenomenal, especially with that spicy ranch. They were almost like fried cheese curds but with pretzel as the breading. My girlfriend said her wings were good and couldn't finish them all. Overall, the price, service, and food are exceptional and I will confidently say that this is one of the best places to eat in the area and I will be coming back again to try some of their other options.
