I went back with a group of 7 for dinner and had a nice, prompt server but the food quality wasn't as good as my first experience. The french martini was tasty and strong. The appetizers were all great, I recommend the hummus and phyllo cigars. The shrimp scampi entree was overly buttery/oily and one person who got the grouper said it was tough. One person got a burger with mayo and they took an extra 10 mins after serving us to bring her mayo. The dessert baklava with pistachio ice cream was tiny, one tablespoon of gelato and two little pieces of baklava. One of the best happy hour deals in the city! We had a small group during the busy happy hour and the server did a good job of checking back and making sure we got one last order in before it ended. Found this place on Groupon and boy was it a great find! How have I never heard of this place? I decided to order carry out it was very satisfied. I started with a classic Caesar salad, very fresh lettuce and flavorful croutons. The first entree was the shrimp scampi, which traveled well. The dish was just a tad bit too buttery but still very good. Shrimp seasoned well and risotto cooked perfectly. Second entree was their 12oz strip steak. Cooked to order and they did a very good job cooking it to the temp I like. Steak flavorful and tender. The potatoes that it came with, stupendous and asparagus cooked well. Wow, what a lucky find. We were on our way to HiPointe when I turned right instead of left. Turned around in Pan D'olive parking lot, which was full at 12:45pm. Decided we should try it since we're were there already. The lunch menu is a great value because it include their warm rustic olive bread, starter (which is kind of side), entree, and beverage. Wife had the cannelloni with sautéed zucchini. I had the lamb kofte with rice and piyaz. Ice tea was super fresh. Crème brûlée was so fresh and perfect. Great service. This quality lunch is a steal. We were able to have the entire basement room for our group of about 30 people, which was very conducive to having an actual group meeting. As far as food, our group selected from a smaller, limited menu, which worked out well because I think it helped make it easier for the kitchen to get everyone's food ready at the same time. Although limited, the selections were very good. For the main meal, the Sicilian Style Tilapia was good, and the Meat Cannelloni was great. Three of our party ordered the walnut encrusted trout and it was very good. I like for the fish to be skinless, but the trout cannot be ordered without the skin. It turned out not to be a problem. The trout could be easily removed and was not messy. The side of spinach would have been great with less olive oil. All of the three spinach sides were drenched in olive oil, so it must be their usual preparation. Others may like it, but It was too much oil for me. I love dessert, so i always try to choose wisely. This is one of my favorite Mediterranean restuarants. The food here is always good, well presented and the service is excellent. I'm gonna go with 4 stars based on strength of service staff...they deserve it. Pan d'Olive has a very relaxing atmosphere whether dining inside or Al fresco. The whether was wonderful tonight and we were seated on side patio with misting stations in full bloom! The menu is not extensive but all selections are quality offerings. I had dinner tonight at the bar. There was a hair in the bread, I told and showed the bartender very much on the sly so as to not upset other diners. I continued to eat my dinner. The owner of this place is extremely rude and the food is concerningly bland. We were having our valentines dinner here. For appetizers we had the calamari and muscles and both were unpleasantly bland. However, the sauces they came with were good. For the main course we had the lamb shank and the filet mignon. The lamb was cooked very well but also very bland. The steak and the mushroom sauce, it came with, were not good at all. The only flavor it had was from the burnt crust on the steak. We told our waitress how bland everything was and asked for A1 sauce. We were not rude and were still willing to eat our food just with A1. When the waitress returned with the sauce, the owner followed behind her. He told us we had offended him because he made the sauce and it was "top notch" and instructed the waitress to "get the checks, because they can leave." After exchanging words with the owner on our way out I noticed he and a group of people had been sitting across from us the entire time with a concerning amount of wine spread across the table. So in conclusion, unless you want to deal with a drunk arrogant owner and bland food don't go here. read more

Pan D'Olive has pros and a few cons. First off their happy hour is a great deal. The cigars are lovely and the drinks are cheap. I ordered a Manhattan and saw grenadine poured into my drink and immediately realized that anything more than a gin and tonic is too complicated of a cocktail to be mixed at this spot. I will say the salmon is fantastic however most of the other meals I've tried lack flavor, often come out a bit cold, or scream "we prepped most of this days ago". The ambiance is nice but I can't help but feeling like I'm in a sad middle aged dance club themed restaurant. Given the Mediterranean type fair I have to say, the ambiance does not match the food. I'll be back for the happy hour but would not pay full price unless it was strictly because of convenience. In the end there are many better spots within a 1-2 mile radius. Good blend of sweet with the mandarin orange and cranberry with the bitter feta cheese. House oil dressing was a good balance. Caesar salad was good. Would be better served cold. We came here for dinner on a Saturday night recently around 7pm. We didn't have a reservation but it wasn't busy. Strangely though they were sitting everyone in the same corner right next to each other even though there were plenty of open tables. They sat us next to a large party that was so loud I couldn't hear my husband sitting across from me. We started with a couple of cocktails and the phyllo cigars. I like the cucumber cooler cocktail it was nice and refreshing. The cigars had good flavor I love feta cheese. They took awhile to arrive though so we didn't get them long before our main course. My husband got a steak and I got the lobster ravioli. The food was great we didn't have any complaints. This is a nice restaurant in our neighborhood we really should come here more often. Pan D'olive was recommended to me by a few of the local guys I work with in St. Louis. The first time I came through, I just missed happy hour, which happens to be VERY popular here. The bar was crowded, but I was able to snag a seat! I was glad I did, because Tony, the bartender, was truly entertaining! He was a super cool cat and remembered me the next time I came through! Anyway, I was starving on my first visit, so I ordered snails for the appetizer and a whole branzini. Both dishes were excellently prepared. The snails were sitting in a creamy sauce that was delectable! And the branzini came as a whole fish, I have to be honest, I was expecting a filet. But I have no qualms about eating the whole fish, and I basically ate it down to the bone! Since I was at an establishment, I didn't get down and dirty with the fish head, if I was in the comfort of my own home, it's a different story... The second time I came around, I ordered the lamb shank. It was falling off the bone, and simply divine! I highly recommend ordering the lamb shank, I wish I had done this the first time!
