Pana Donuts is my favorite traditional style donut in Indy and taste homemade. I especially love the delicious raspberry filled one. I love that the dough and the filling is not overly sweet for a donut. The sweetness is balanced, and the texture is just right (not too dry or soggy). This location is a drive through and the wait time is not too long. The donuts are also relatively inexpensive if you buy a dozen

Yet another location I have discovered very near where I regularly see a doctor quarterly. The look of the outside of the building here reminds me of the new Greenwood location. Inside you'll find a spacious lobby to accommodate large lines if necessary but usually I find it's not an issue. There are several tables with chairs for dining in if you're so inclined. Today I ordered a dozen and a half. A dozen of assorted donuts for my co-workers and a half dozen for myself. The Boston Cream donuts are really good. PANA is one of the very few donut chains to offer Powdered donuts, which I love. Their donuts will stay fresh for a long time, usually almost a week. Heat them up for ten seconds in a microwave oven and they'll taste like they came out of their kitchens that day. I really love how they have expanded the number of locations and keep shortening the drive for me to acquire my PANA donut fix.

PANA Donuts has never disappointed me, and this location is no different. They have a decent selection of donuts and they were definitely fresh out of the fryer.

Pana donuts in speedway!!! Love these donuts. They are so fluffy and melt in your mouth. It's a pretty close tie with longs donuts. The glazed and kronuts are the only ones I need/ want. They have many options. They also have teas, frapps, Boba etc. They even have some breakfast type food. I also got the Thai tea Frappuccino. I had never had one or knew it existed. I love Thai iced tea so had to try it. It was pretty good. Small cost $4.50. The donuts are $1.50/ donut. Special ones are $2. It was pretty steady with business. All week long for their grand opening they were giving away a free donut! Highly recommend!

I have fallen in love with the bear claws filled with apple filling. Not only are they cute but delicious. The lemon filled bismarks and chocolate iced yeast donuts are always a favorite. Honestly, I haven't had anything I don't like. I place them in the microwave for 10 - 15 seconds to slightly warm. The donuts are light and fluffy and just a treat to enjoy. The business is spotless with a few tables to sit at. There is an empty, large space in the center of the store to help with congestion. The employees are super friendly and helpful with my questions. The lines move quickly, so I don't mind a small wait, if any. Beverages are offered as well with coffee, latte's, Boba's, and more. I find Pana is conveniently located close to us, next to Kroger in the Speedway Shopping Center, and we're at Kroger often. Parking isn't a problem since they have a large parking lot. I still enjoy Long's doughnuts, but they are not as light and fluffy as Pana's are. I will continue purchasing Long's for the hospital staff when I have an appointment with them. Stop by any of the locations in the Indianapolis areas and surrounding areas.

The best donuts in town!!! My favorites are the cronut and blueberry cake but I truly haven't had a donut I did not like. And they are consistently good in quality and taste. I've also had a croissant breakfast sandwich and they give you a lot of meat. The ham and cheese croissant is also good just make sure to warm it up. This location has a few tables so you can sit and eat but its not really set up as a sit down and take a load off place. Service is always quick and painless.

The orders come fast! And the food and bobas are always amazing I always try to get some boba after school.

However, I had family come from California who wanted to have a good tenderloin, and I talked to people and everybody said, take them to mug n bun, you know, it's classic, great tenderloin, fun vibe. I regret the decision of going. My teenage nephew, said one word after 2 bites of his burger, and it summed up our entire experience, bleak. BLEAK summed up every bite of greasy, flavorless, cold food we tried. The root beer had no taste and the very expensive milkshake had no flavor and flet like just whipped ice cream. The ONLY good thing was our server, Jennifer. She was busting her butt to server everyone and trying to stay up beat in the heat.

I've shared, quite often, of my deep appreciation for the Shapiro's response when I had accessibility concerns about their Fashion Mall location. They did a remarkably beautiful job of responding well, adapting, and yet also honoring their own business needs. The end result became a more accessible layout that was still customer friendly for everyone. I will always appreciate that response and should their praises. But, there's something special about this location. It's the look. It's the feel. It's the vibe. It's just everything. A little bit of Shapiro's history - you can trace the Shapiro family back to 1795 Ukraine. Louis and Rebecca Shapiro landed stateside in 1905; within a couple years opening a small grocery/deli. In 1925, they leaned into their cultural and faith roots after the election of Ed Jackson as governor (Jackson was a well-known Klan member). They added the word "kosher" to their building and a Star of David. (As someone who's traveled over 7,000 miles by wheelchair, I love a good act of subtle rebellion). They more and more leaned into their cafe routes, and in 1984 added a second location on the northwestside. I probably frequented this location the most since I went to Pike High School. As we all know, that location eventually closed. Fashion Mall lasted about five years. There was a Carmel spot, too. But, for me, it always comes down to this location. It's warm. It's friendly. The food is a premium deli experience. I love the meatloaf (like seriously). They have breakfast, they have a ton of baked good options (cakes, cookies, others), soups, salads, hot deli, cold deli, sandwiches, entrees, and a whole lot more. I love the baked goods. I love the fried chicken. Is it a bit pricey? Yep. You also get enough for at least a couple meals (if you can truly hold out that long). Accessibility is solid here. I've already talked about their attention to that kind of detail. It's real AND it's sincere. Strangely enough, I've never had the Reuben here. It's one of their acclaimed sandwiches, but there's always something else I want more. While you can spend a fair amount here, you can also eat here pretty modestly. Shapiro's, at least for me, is one of those places that defines Indy. I'd likely weep if they ever left our city. Good food. Great family. Wonderful location. Fair pricing. Accessible. Quite honestly, it's just about everything I want a restaurant to be.

I come mostly for the breads and the cinnamon rolls made from croissant dough. I do have to say I preferred the 'old' way these were made which was with a lot less icing. But I get that the change was probably done on request as folks generally prefer the extra sweet things here. Don't get me wrong, I will still continue to devour my fair share of these delicious works of art. And you cannot go wrong with the bread around here. We'll be back soon to sample more of the menu option and take advantage of the beautiful view from the deck. First, know you DO NOT have to pay track admission at any time, including race days (the 500 & 400), to dine at the restaurant. Just inform the yellow shirts (there during races) as you enter off 16th Street you're there to dine at the Smokehouse. They'll wave you right in. Their regular hours are 11 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. However, they opened Sunday from 11-5 for the Brickyard 400 fans. Free parking is conveniently located in front of the restaurant. The Flag Room (over 21 only) is just off the lobby to the left and tastefully decorated in black and white race decor with a 60's feel. Slightly dated decor in the venue section of the building but it's coming back! The Flag Room has bar seating or 4-top tables with windows overlooking the back of turn 2 of the track. There was another dining area inside for under 21 patrons when we visited. Not sure if that area is always an option. As we entered the Flag Room our server asked if we'd prefer to sit on the deck. Yes, of course, on this beautiful fall day. And thank you for asking!! We could see both the jumbotron at IMS, hear the cars right next door and enjoy the players on the golf course all while sitting on the deck. On normal, non-racing days it's very peaceful and quiet. The deck is a large, family friendly, three tier deck overlooking the stunning Brickyard Crossing Golf Course. Room for families, friends or co-workers after work or a quiet table for two. The menu is larger than I expected. Simple two-sided menu with starters on one side and main courses on the other. A few of the appetizers are BBQ pulled nachos, smoked chicken wings, loaded fries, Smokehouse chili and three salads (Caesar, chef, tex-mex). Main courses are mostly sandwiches such as pulled pork hoagies, beef brisket, turkey bacon club, burger, tenderloin, chicken, smoked brisket tacos, house smoked baby back ribs and a veggie wrap. My husband ordered the Brisket sandwich which was not only a delicious sandwich but a good value for the price. It was served with yummy, thick, homemade chips finished off with their own in-house seasoning. Quite tasty and I ususally don't care for thick chips. I ordered a cup of the Smokehouse Chili with cheese and onion. I enjoyed the meaty, tomato based chili. For my entree I had the flavorful pulled pork hoagie served with excellent lightly battered fries. Again, it was a generous portion of pulled pork with a smokey sauce that had just a touch of sweetness. Most sauces are to sweet for me but I really enjoyed this one. The fries were amazing with a light batter, golden brown and seasoned well. Our server, Alicia I think, was attentive, very personable and friendly. Our drinks remained full, our tasty food arrived quickly and the prices are reasonable for the portion sizes.
