I've been to this place twice. Pastries are delicious. Firs visit they were pretty busy and I had ordered a mango diablito which cashier took my order but another girl prepared it and when it was done she just left it on the counter. I wasn't sure if it was mine until 5 minutes of no one claiming it I had to ask if it was mine which the girl had no idea so she had to confirm with cashier. My second trip was during the week around 2:00pm and there were only 2 other customers there. I went in to grab some pastries and first door there were a couple of fruit flies flying near the bread. Third door had a black fly on a piece of bread. I grabbed some pastries from another door and when I was paying I told the cashier about the fly. She went over and threw out the piece where the fly was sitting on. I understand it's hard to control these pests but it was an unpleasant surprise lol. Food is good! Their new menu is great and tasty. However watch out for those extra charges for using a CC or if ordering a large amount of pastries they charge extra to put in an appropriate box. They are genuinely personable people with great service at La Panaderia. Ordered my sister 's birthday cake here; we found it to be fresh, tasty, and a great value (mega big). We special ordered the cake although we plan to try the off the shelf version next time for variety. They offer a variety of baked goods, macaroons, and I think I might had seen gelato or ice cream too. What makes this place extra special is that EVERY person in the establishment is super nice & treats you like a long-time family friend rather just a customer. This was my first time in this place & only because we were around the area & we did not want to drive to La Purisima located in Glendale. This place is horrendous in their customer service they are very unprepared. We ordered a few items, some Mexican bread, 2 shakes, & 2 fresas con crema. To my astonishment they charged me $50. I really dislike when businesses don't give you an actual receipt on the costs of the items. How do I know that they are not overcharging or if they mistakenly charged an item twice with how unorganized they were? The bread itself was hard and not the best i've had. For sure not worth the cost! I will not be coming back & it's just worth me driving farther out to get what you pay for. read more

Ugghhhh where to start, so usually we love this place for the pan dulce, ice cream, and other yummy Mexican snacks but sadly this time my experience wasn't so. I came in a week before to order a custom tres leches cake with a dodgers theme to it, the woman there said no problem we can do it. She told me to select the design I wanted, filing, size etc, I chose everything and paid for half of the order. Total came out to $85 I thought it was steep but with all the great ratings and our past experiences I said it's fine it'll be great. 3 days before I had to pick up the cake I was called by an woman name Andrea she told me that the design I had chose wasn't available so I had to pick something else I let her know as long as it had dodgers on the cake it would be fine she promised to send me a picture of said change, never did I receive a picture that should've been my first warning sign. Saturday comes 8/17/19 and I come to pick up and pay for the cake and was presented with a simple cake with an edible image sticker and I thought everything was great until I looked closer. I can't believe what was given to me I understand that things happen and people make mistakes but this was unacceptable. A giant crack in between the dodgers sign very visible and they didn't say anything until I said something. I asked them what had happened and no one knew and I wasn't even offered any apology so I said I'm very upset what can we do about this the girl told me she couldn't fix it because she would make it worse. I understood that so I then asked for a discount as what I had ordered was not obviously promised and they told me they would have to call "the lady that makes cakes". They get her on the phone and pass her to me and right away she's telling me "hi this is Andrea the owner of the store, I just left the bakery it was perfect when I left it idk who do this but I'm very upset I can't believe it! there's no way to fix it and there's no way to get another edible image" she came across super defensive, never did she say sorry to me and no one in the bakery every said sorry and honestly that's all I wanted was some empathy,they kept saying "well if you're not happy we'll refund you and you don't have to take the cake" the thing is I needed the cake for my friends bday party I trusted they would have the cake for me the way I expected I paid a lot of money for it and all I got was attitude. In the end she did give me a $10 discount (because this was the cost of the sticker) but they way they handle the situation was terrible and super unprofessional not once did they seem remorseful or understanding I'm truly upset and definitely never doing business with them again. Please consider other options for a bakery before you go with them because that's not how you do business. read more

This is a bit disappointing to write. I really like this place, the pan dulce is delicious, the fresh mango cups with chimoy are the best!! They have thrifty Ice Cream which is so good. The ladies all are very nice; I ordered a cake for my son last year for his birthday from here and it was perfect and tasty, so I was more than happy to order again this year for his birthday. What a disappointment, I go to pick it up and the lady had to take a few minutes to put the LA logo on it (no big deal) but she told us they failed to send her any designs on the cake I wanted, so she was making something blindly as I did give them photos and the young lady that placed my initial order took screenshots of the design I wanted. Then they didn't do the "Happy Birthday David" on a hard fondant plate in front of the cake. So last minute one of the guys came out from the back to write on the cake and as you'll see by the photo it's a sloppy job. The "Happy" got thrown on there and lost direction of how it was being written. I also ordered 13 cupcakes at $3.99 a cupcake and they tasted like dirt, the chocolate wasn't chocolate like at all. Still paid the total of $105 for a bad tasting cupcakes and a terribly designed cake all. So I won't be ordering cakes from here EVER AGAIN! But I will still buy the other items they have that taste delicious. read more

I really like the pan dulce here! Everything seems very clean and organized. There is a variety of options apart from the delicious pan dulce such as Mexican snacks and drinks. I have never really been to a "panaderia" before and was pleasantly surprised by Panaderia La Central's products. I went around and selected at least one of everything they had to offer. All of them were de-li-cious. There is a European bakery back home that I visit for their éclairs and cinnamon bread. I can easily spend $40 at that place. After I had grabbed a bunch of turnovers, empanadas, and a multitude of other pastries the girl behind the counter rang them up and said $23.00! This place is SO cheap! Don't miss out on this place! Last month we took our Head Start class to a local business for a field trip. When we arrived the doors we locked and no one was there! Fortunately for us, the amazing owners of Panaderia La Central offered to allow the children a tour through the bakery! They saved the day for the children, parents, and staff that attended! The bakery was very busy while we were there and we saw a number of very happy patrons leaving. The breads, cookies, and cakes made our tummy's rumble and smelled heavenly! I know a few parents went back and purchased pastries from them later that day! (A few even plan to have their children's birthday cakes made there!) I've been eating pan dulce from this panaderia for some time now but I'd forgotten to review it. Obviously the fact that I've returned says it all. The bread is fresh and its the best panaderia in the west valley, at least the best one I've tried. Their conchas and empanadas de calabasa are my favorite both have a mild cinnamon taste and the conchas sometimes have that orangey taste common in pan de muerto. read more

I'm a Cali girl and I love La Monarca Bakery so I was looking for a good bakery where I could find a good cold brewed cafe de olla and a little cake for my husband I was lucky to find this bakery. Their cafe de olla is very good and the tres leches cake is very good too. To me it has a unique recipe. It does not taste like other tres leches cake I've tried in the past. We stopped by yesterday as my son wanted a root beer float. The lady at the register regrettably said they didn't sell them, and offered up other ice cream-filled goodies. Then, it seemed a light went off in her head, quickly she pulled two dollars out of her registered and sent a young man to get a can of root beer from the store next door. He came back in a couple of minutes and they quickly made the float for my son. He was all smiles and we were thoroughly impressed. They were all very friendly and accommodating, I can't recall a time a business went so out of their way to make their patron happy. First off, the tres leches cake was delicious. If you want great authentic tres leches look no further. However, I am giving it a 2 stars instead of 5 because the service was horrible. The 2 girls working were unprofessional and rude, they barely bothered to listen to what I was saying and they didn't even know how to write on the cakes, the "Happy Birthday" I requested looked like a 3rd grader wrote it, which is pathetic. When I asked for a small discount for the poor writing, they couldn't even give me that. Apparently if you want a cake with proper writing on it, you have to order a few days in advance. read more

This bakery is AMAZING!! Fresh bread every day! Every single hour of the entire day you get fresh bread! Not only do they have bread but they have some amazing fresh juices for those who want to drink healthy! Green juices are my favorite! During my visit I wanted to meet up with my family for some coffee and pan dulce. I was pleasantly surprised to find both. I actually ended up getting their green juice which was definitely green! You can ask for a custom blend and their selection is pretty decent for a small cafe. There's limited seating so expect to wait during rush hours but after 9am not too busy. read more
