    Tres Leches

I actually just came today and the tres leches is $5.50 per slice. Generous though. I don't speak Spanish so I couldn't communicate.

Anyone know what this is? Please let me know!

Decent breakfast burrito, or any burrito, opens at 5am so it works for me as a late night spot after work. Food prices and extremely nice people working there. Their bakery case was the ultimate temptation, but I may lose self control for that tries leches next time

Small hole in the wall with tasty Mexican treats. A search for donuts late in the evening brought me here since most of the regular spots were closed for the day. The sugar donut was very good. Also picked up a tres leches cake which was just ok. The lady who waited on me was super nice.

The best place for a custom birthday cake This is our second time getting my daughter's birthday cake from here and they always do such an amazing job! They really make my vision come to life. My Spanish is not the best, but love how patient they are with me when trying to explain what I want. Inspo pictures definitely help. Plus the cake itself is also really great and strawberries are so fresh tasting. We always get lots of complements on our cake.

Had to stop by and YELP this place on the WEST side of San Jose California. Literally a small hole in the wall at the end of the shopping strip they share with other merchants. Parking was fine. No problem. Bread selections were pretty good and interesting and some I never tried before. Place is clean, all wearing masks. COVID protocol in effect. They have burritos, tamales, 3 different style of tortas. I got the bread and got one of the Cuban Tortas. All tastes good, fresh and warm. Esta muy bueno el pan dulce y tambien las tortas.

As I'm standing here waiting for the bread, I wanted to say just how amazing their customer service is. I was picking up a lot of pan dulce for a memorial service I was attending and had no idea what I was gonna get as I haven't had Pan dulce before. I told the lady my predicament and she was very kind and patient with my ignorance. I asked her to help me pick out 30 pieces and I felt no judgment for not knowing what I was doing. I think this kind of patience should always be praised so thank you for helping me feel welcome when I was feeling somewhat anxious.

This is a review for their breakfast burrito and only their breakfast burrito. Perhaps wishful thinking led me to head over for to a panaderia for my chorizo and egg burrito fix. Maybe it was something in me that wanted to try my luck. In either case, this bakery had food and they also had some burritos ready to go if you happen to be on the run. My food did it's job in curing my itch but it's not one that I would return for. They serve the burrito with a green sauce that is uniquely good. Unique in that it's creamier than the typical avocado sauce or salsa verde. The gal behind the counter was very helpful and commanded the steady flow of customers without flinching. A return trip to this bakery is needed to try out their baked goods and cakes

I visited Panaderia La Espiga a few weeks ago during the late afternoon. First, the bakery is off to the side in a strip mall. I had no issues with parking. I was impressed that they were stocked with so many different pastries and breads. I was overwhelmed by all of the options. They also sell tortas, burritos, and tamales as well which I will need to come back and get. Anyhow, I got the vanilla cake with the pink icing, besos, an empanada, and a horn. The cake was delicious and it was very large slice. The besos were good The empanada was really nice with some tasty cream inside. The horn was good. I liked how all the pastries were large and that the quality was good on each one. I'll be coming back here in my future trips to West San Jose. It's a gem.

Plenty of parking available since the restaurant is in a strip mall. It wasn't too busy when we got there, but then it started picking up. There was only one server working and she was really hustling to meet everyone's needs. Plus, she was friendly. I had the carne asada burrito, it was good but nothing over the top that made it stand out. My friend had enchiladas with mole. We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Both of the desserts were so good and a perfect touch of sweetness.

The service is not the best and you have to try hard to catch the servers attention. The food was better this time, but not as good as many other Mexican restaurants. It is not what I consider authentic Mexican food.

Our server was Sebastian & he was super friendly, attentive & recommended us the goods. My favorite here was their enchiladas - red & stuffed with chicken tinga. We waited 1.5 hours to be seated while half the restaurant sat empty. After we were seated, it took about 30 minutes for anyone to ask if we wanted drinks, another 30 minutes before our order was taken, and then an hour for the food to arrive. Throughout the wait, several servers were gathered in the corner talking and laughing while tables--including ours--were left unattended. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the service. The meat was dry, lacked flavor, and the shrimp was so chewy that I couldn't finish it. It was honestly one of the worst shrimp dishes I've ever been served. I've seen countless influencers giving this place glowing reviews, and after eating here, I simply don't believe them. My experience was the complete opposite. If you appreciate good food and good service, I would strongly recommend spending your money somewhere else.

The staff were attentive, gave great menu recommendations, and constantly came by to refill our water. Very spacious dining room. We started with the Queso Fundido, served on a small hot plate with chilis, garlic, and oil on top. It's basically a block of cheese served with chips. Even with the hot plate, it didn't stay gooey for long, but it was a pretty good starter. The Coconut Campachano was creamy and refreshing. It also came with chips, though ours seemed like crumbs from the bottom of the barrel. We got the Trompo tacos and Sautéed Shrimp tacos. Both were tasty, and the tortillas seemed fresh. My wife is Latina, so we're pretty familiar with authentic Latin/Mexican flavors, and from the moment we walked in, we were a little unsure of what to expect. We completely understand we're in Willow Glen and that Copita is going for a more upscale take, but for us, authenticity and flavor still have to be at the heart of the experience. Our waitress was very friendly and polite, and this review is absolutely not a reflection of her service. However, when we asked about the style of the food, there seemed to be a little hesitation in explaining it, which made us even more uncertain about what we had gotten ourselves into. I don't like bashing restaurants or their food, so I'll simply say that, unfortunately, the highlight of our meal was the chips and salsa. The cocktails, on the other hand, were good and definitely not shy on the alcohol! Also, don't expect large portions. The restaurant is clearly aiming for a more upscale presentation and experience, so the plates reflect that. Overall, Copita just wasn't for us. This was our first visit and unfortunately will probably be our last. I genuinely wish them success, but I think a few changes, especially when it comes to the flavors and authenticity of the food could make a big difference.
