Ate here while I was in town visiting my mom who is up at UMC. I stumbled upon this place purely by accident and I'm glad I did! The ladies that greeted me were so sweet and welcoming. After the week my family has had, it was really nice to feel like I was among sweet, friendly people. Oma was sweet and took great care of me. I had a steak omelet (one that's on the back of the menu) and substituted mushrooms for tomatoes and it was delicious. Love this place! Every time we come to Lubbock we come here for breakfast. The servers are warm and genuinely welcoming and the food is great. We came today and our server found out it's our daughters birthday so she made her a special pancake and had it waiting for her when she arrived. Very sweet! My family and I went there the morning after one of my sister's graduation. We didn't even get the chance to try out the place. The lady in the front desk was so rude and somewhat prejudice. The moment we approached her front desk to request a table, she ruddily interrupted saying that the wait was too long as if to discourage us from eating there. A Lubbock classic! When you wake up and crave a pile of your favorite breakfast foods, this is the BEST option! I recommend getting The Skillet. Fried chicken, sausage, hash browns, green chilies, eggs, and cheese with two biscuits and gravy on the side (I suggest just adding it to the mix and dumping the gravy on top of it all). We went here during the TTU Vs. UT weekend, big mistake. The place was packed and had a 40 minute wait. But in the hangover state we found ourselves in Pancake House was all that we wanted to feel better, that and a cold beer but I think we would have gotten dirty looks for bringing some in. In all my years in LBK Pancake House was always a staple for a serious breakfast meal. The pancakes are awesome, especially the sweet potato pancakes and the omelets are good. Ate here this morning for the first time. I ordered a combination omelet (basically meat lovers) plus onion with a side of funfetti pancakes. I wasn't too crazy about the omelet but the pancakes were to die for. Our server Andrea, was super helpful and gave great service. I would definitely go back for these pancakes again. read more

This place is the best breakfast place ever in Lubbock. We are regulars here. We come most every weekend. There is a waitress Angel who is sweet as pie and very good at her job. My mom is a very particular person and Angel gets it right every time. Even when we can't get Angel most often they are very good at keeping up! They always keep your coffee full and make sure you have everything you need. It's always clean including the bathroom. Their food is always good with all of the regular favs like biscuits and gravy,eggs,bacon,sausage,hash browns, omelets,etc. They have the most amazing pancakes including my fav red velvet. I prefer theirs over any other in Lubbock. A lil tip they get really busy on the weekends starting about 10-11am. So if you don't want to wait then go before then. If you have to wait though it's worth it. They also have veterans discount you just have to tell your waitress when you order. You feel at home here. These people bust their butts to crank out the best customer experience possible. read more

I think the only thing I like about this place was the different flavor creamers. That's where it ends. We stayed in Lubbock a solid week and never did find a place with decent breakfast. I thought with a name like pancake house it would at least have decent pancakes. Disappointments are not limited to pancakes. I used to go to this place back in 2002-2006 when I was a student at Texas Tech and I always loved it. I was back in town this past weekend for a graduation and I was excited to take my kids there before we made the long drive back to Houston. They sat us at a table and the waitress came out and asked us what we wanted to drink, and while my 8 year old autistic daughter was trying to say her order the waitress got impatient and walked off. She came back and took our drink orders after checking on another table. She then took our food order and we sat for about 45 minutes. She kept walking past us to check on the table behind us but never refilled our drinks or gave us an update on our food. I watched other tables who came in after us being served their food while we continued to wait. Finally I gave up and we walked out. My daughters were getting too hungry and we had to get on the road. I was extremely disappointed and won't be going back. read more

Holy bum. I can't believe some of the low ratings. We've been going to the Pancake House for 30+ years. Never had a bad experience. I always get the sweet potato pancakes, eggs, of course beacon and their biscuits & gravy are to die for. Wife & kids get a little of everything including omelets & they are always great. This place was just meh. For me to rate a breakfast place high it has to be better than something I could make at home and this place did not fit into that category. The pancakes had an extremely artificial/fake flavor to them. My scrambled eggs came out extremely undercooked and even when she brought them back the second time they were still very watery. Nice people, nice food, nice place. I've been to Pancake House many times now, and it's great. I would definitely choose it over IHOP or Denny's any day. Sweet potato pancakes and waffles!? Yes, please, with extra pecans. They taste like a holiday casserole in breakfast form. I have never been disappointed with any of the food that I've had here, even the lunch food is good! The place runs like clockwork even when there are a lot of people waiting to be seated. All of the waiters are genuinely nice and helpful. read more
