Highlights: Tacos- very good, not skimpy on steak (other meat options available) Salsa- Wife really enjoyed the salsa de verde (green) Tortas- Bread was super soft. Lots of meat, whole slices of avacado w/ lettuce, etc. This may very well be a regular spot for me on the way home from work! I go to Pancho's for lunch from time to time. I call my order in from work and it's ready to go by the time I get there. I've had the super burritos ($5.99) as well as combo 3 (Quesadilla, enchilada, tamal, rice, beans, guacamole, chips, large drink for $7.75). They also have grilled jalepeno's for $.25 if you want one. They aren't grilled heavily so they are still HOT. I took my combo 3 back to work to eat it, along with one of the jalapenos. The Jalapeno was HOTTER than I expected! I was sweating like a pig while eating lunch. Fortunately no one stopped by my office until I was able to cool off a bit. Ugh! If you're a vegetarian, skip this place. They have vegetarian options on their menu, but what do you think they consider 'veggies'??Answer- lettuce and tomatoes. Really!?? No peppers, onions, squash, etc etc. They don't even have those veggies in the restaurant! Their Enchiladas have no sauce on the top and are literally impossible to cut through with the plastic knives they have. One of our friends spent nearly 2 mins to cut a piece with the plastic cutlery. He finally gave up and ate the enchilada with his hands! That hard. UGH! I love this place. Always quick and affordable. The staff are cordial but never try to be buddies (which is fine with me). Lots of seating and clean. Great veggie options! I tried this place 3 years ago and wasn't a fan but my friend says its the best, so I thought I would try it out again. I ordered the Enchilada dinner. The cheese enchiladas had no sauce on them and instead of having shredded cheese melted on top and slices of cheese melted on top. The tortilla was rubbery. The rice was decent. The beans were way too thick, taste was fine bu too dense. Everything was super super greasy. I only ate half my dinner and left hungry. My fiance has the steak quesadilla and it was tiny. The chicken tacos he has were "fine" as he said. I think 2 chances are enough. Maybe I am ordering the wrong things, but I won't be back to try again. read more

Mixed results on two visits here. The place is small and decorated nicely. Very basic inside, but what do you really need at a quick mexican food place? There is a TV that plays Mexican TV programming all day in the dining area, so that's good if you want to watch TV. Service is quick and efficient. The place is open until 9 PM Mon-Sat...not sure about Sunday. On to the food... The Torta Milanesa was alright, but needed more flavor...maybe a little more salt & pepper on the meat and breading would help. The steak torta and steak burrito are not good. The meat that they use is vile. It's gritty, fatty, and unappealing. I do not suggest anything with their steak. Horchata was really good. Would possibly try something else from there, but was turned off from my last visit. read more

I don't like judging a place after one experience so I come back a month later to get a bistec platillo or whatever it's called. I used to go to Pancho's at least every few days. The food was always great. The last time I went I asked for Cilantro on the taco. It came with none. When my friend took it back and asked for Cilantro the cook gave him a dirty look but put Cilantro on it. The Cilantro was all browm and yucchy! When my friend took it back to the cook, the cook said, "Well, you wanted Cilantro!" My friend explained that it was bad, the cook said, "It's all bad". I am sorry - but get a dollar from the register and go next door to the grocery store and buy some fresh Cilantro! That was the last time I was there. I refuse to eat (or shop) where the staff has an indifferent attitude towards the customer. I understand a bad day - but this staff was always kind of like that. I see they now also have a bar, I wish them all the success in the world because the older gentleman and his wife (presumably the owners) seem very nice. I think they let their kid manage too often - and he doesn't do anything but sit and play on his PC and ring the register when a customerr comes in. They do have a TV - but I quickly figured out it is for the staff - not the customers. The tables don't get cleaned very often and the place was never real clean - wasn't dirty - but wasn't clean - if you know what I mean. I kept going there becasue the food was pretty good and fast. But I will have to be pretty depserate for food before I go there again! read more

There seems to be a lack of 'authentic' style faster mexican joints in the area, so I gave Pancho's a try, as I had a craving. Pancho's is fairly solid. I tried the taco combo. Pork taco, 2 steak tacos, rice, beans, and a little guac. Call me a gringo, but steak tacos are my standard for judgement. Pancho's steak tacos are pretty basic. Coulda used a little more seasoning, even though I do like my steak tacos not overly seasoned. Rice, beans, & guac were also pretty basic. No real standouts, but nothing subpar. For the area that seems to be lacking in the cuisine, Pancho's will certainly suffice. I'm not a regular to the area, so not sure I'd make the effort to get back. This is my go to spot when I'm feenin for some Mexican food. The food is consistently good here. Its a small restaurant, but not too small. There is flat screen TV, but they usually have it on a Telenovela (Mexican soap opera) or soccer. My favorites here are the steak torta, the tacos (in corn tortilla), and the burritos are pretty good. On occasion I get the side of rice, which is seasoned just right. And I always finish off my meal with some horchata (rice water). To me the prices are cheap, and the food is always delicious. This is the place for authentic Mexican food in Schaumburg. read more

While taking a stroll into the local 7-11 I couldn't help but smell the rich delicacy consuming my nostrils next door. Much to my surprise the food was even better than it smelt. I decided to go with the chorizo and ay caramba. I now knew I was trapped into a world of fine dining and quality service. Mr. Waiter couldn't have been any nicer, engaging me about my day and delivering the finest meal these buds have ever tasted. Best (ex)hole-in-the-wall burrito joint around. I love this place and go here quite frequently. The staff has always been very friendly and their food has been above par. I typically get their super steak burrito and a couple of their green and red sauces. I find that if you put a little of both sauces on, you get the best of flavor and spice. Their horchata is pretty good too. They seem to be doing pretty well as they have now expanded. I hope they are around for a long time and continue to put out a good product! read more

Hard to find anything close to great Mexican food like I did in southern cal. Panchos came pretty close. The burittos were packed and extremly tasty. They had just enough grease for taste but not a lot to kill the flavors. The tacos were good but the burritos were the selling point. I asked for avocado on my burrito and it was fresh unlike some places I find in the midwest. Whenever I come to the Schaumburg area I will definately seek out Panchos during my stay. read more

Absolutely disgusted! We have been going here for years and always loved the food. But I will never eat food from here again. I was in line to order and they were making someone's else's order. So this man which I believe is the owner (short about 60yr old man) was eating his food in the dining area but since they were getting backed up with orders he decided to jump in and help. He stuck his last bite of food in his mouth, rushed in and started getting to work. I watched him the whole time he did NOT wash his hands! Not only that but while he was still chewing his food he proceeds to lick his thumb to grab a piece of foil to wrap this food the cook had just finished making!! Literally bare hands which I can understand IF you wash your hands, but he did not. I was in shock when I seen him stick his greasy thumb in his mouth while still chewing and just started wrapping food!!! Stay away from this restaurant.
