Good day Yelpers! Taco Man Wedo here W/ Food Discoveries and more. First of all, this review is based off grubhub. I didn't physical visit this store so it will not be your usual review. However, I was looking for a good deal because it just seems like I get ripped off often with the quality of food, the prices and delivery fee. Furthermore, it is not the case this time. I ordered one of their lunch specials they have listed on their grubhub tab when you click on it. I ordered the Gourmet Burrito Combo. This option includes a loaded shredded chicken burrito cooked to perfection that included refried beans. It was a wet burrito with a perfectly seasoned sauce with cheese and sour cream on top. It also came with a side of rice and a drink. Moreover, if that's not enough they also includes chips & salsa at no extra cost. Service & Ambiance. The delivery service arrived 15 minutes earlier than expected and the driver was professional with a clean and neat appearance. You could tell the driver Alberto, cares about the cleanliness of his car as well. The lunch special was $14.50 and with the tax, fees, delivery and tip it was only $21.48. Wow! Just wow! I can't believe what a disappointment this place was. I moved into the area not too long ago and been to give this place a try, saw the banner saying help us stay in business and I was in. The Cashier was not interested whatsoever, and could not hear my order. I ordered two crunchy beef tacos and a carnitas taco. The carnitas tasted old and bland as all hell but muscled through it, when I got the crunchy beef tacos I was appalled, it was greasy, tortilla was stale and last but the worst part was the beef. It was ground beef with no seasoning at all. I ate about half of one and just quit. If I was the owner I would just pack it up and let the place go. It will cost you more money keeping this restaurant a float with the food and service you guys are give. It's sad to see a mom and pops place like this in a prime spot just go to waist. Pancho's Tacos is a really great little Mexican restaurant. The burrito I ordered with carne asada meat was delicious and there was a mini salsa bar with chopped cilantro and onions to top off my plate properly. The food was ready less than 2 minutes after I ordered too, excellent service. I want to come back again to try their tacos and tostadas next time. read more

Pancho's used to be the spot 25 years ago. They had the best location on Lincoln and Ocean Park but the Blockbuster took over that building and eventually it became a Blicks. When they moved to this current location it was definitely a downgrade but they had enough loyal customers to still do well. Slowly the customers dwindled as the rude customer service increased and the quality of the food decreased. Too bad so sad. This place will always have a soft spot in my heart or should I say my stomach being that this is the first place I EVER got food poisoning at (carne asada fries) - some of the worst pain of my life. Honestly haven't been back here in well over 15 years. After reading these reviews it's obviously only gotten progressively worse. Here is my payback for the food poisoning, I hope this may be one of the last nails on the coffin. It's time for someone else to occupy this space. read more

I just had the Machico breakfast burrito for the first time and it was awesome! One of the best breakfast burritos I've had in my life! You can tell this breakfast burrito was made with love! I always get the Machaca play but now I'm a big fan of the Machaca burrito. If you haven't tried the beef bean and cheese burrito, it's the bomb! I've eaten at Pancho's over 100 times. Open since 1974, this place is the classic LA Mexican joint to me. I missed it so much while living in San Francisco. it was one of the first places I came back to when I moved back. Let's be real: not everything here is perfect. The bathrooms are old (but clean), the décor is a bit dingy (but charmingly authentic), and the food isn't organic or healthy--but it's homemade with love, and that makes all the difference. People are kind here. As for the food: the Chile Relleno, chicken enchiladas, and fried fish tacos are AMAZING. I don't recommend the shrimp items, and they screw up sometimes seldom but if I even out all the experiences, I love this place. read more

This place has been here for what feels like forever, since the 70's, which is hard to do in Santa Monica. It's a comfortable, almost dive like, restaurant. Nothing fancy and that's exactly how I like it. There are a ton of signs to give you many, many, food options and I'm not going to post photos because they would just be repeats of what other people have posted. I live close so it's nice to be able to pop in and satisfy my Mexican food craving. The food is consistently good and the portions are as well. There is a small parking lot attached. Not a local to the Santa Monica area and stopped by here for some food. The ambience is very nostalgic if you grew up in the Pico Union area this area will feel like home. I have tried the sopes and burrito, both were with asada the sopes were amazing but the burritos were decent. The service was good, very straight to the point when I ordered those two times it was during their slow period but the man who helped me at the register was very sweet. Came in for breakfast - $80 (tip included) Bacon Breakfast Burrito - It was good, no complaints. Just a good standard burrito Menudo - The broth wasn't amazing but the meat was really good quality. They didn't give me any onions/oregano. My corn tortillas were barely heated and breaking apart. Asada Burrito w/ beans and rice - Really good, a little salty but packed with flavor. Breakfast Special omelette - I added 3 meats ($6 extra) but it was very tiny. It had potatoes and toast and covered with fresh avocado slices. A little too much onion was added but it was decent. Just not for the $18 price. Pancakes - AMAZING! The kids gobbled them up. It was our first time here. We always pass by and decided to give it a try. There was no salsas added to our bag, I think you may have to ask. My kids had a blast using the machines to get little toys while we waited. After a cold, long day working I (3 months pregnant) was craving a good bean and cheese burrito! So I turned to my trustee Ol Yelper community and yall a damn lie! Lol. I was reluctant to try bc only 3 and some change stars...the food is great! The establishment it self could use some TLC, but who doesn't love a little hole in the wall kinda taco shack???? I almost forgot about this wonderful little spot. I have not been in some 30 years. It has been there forever it seems. But we moved a bit and just sort of forgot about it. I am so glad we found it again. My grandson picked out this little place. He loves Mexican food and thought he might like to try it. Parking is free in their lot and they even have a painting on the cement wall thanking and blessing customers for coming. It is one of those places that you order at the counter. But they bring your food to you. You can eat inside or out. We stayed inside and were very happy. The person that took our order was ever so nice. My grandson is 15 now, but has issues with speech, so we practice. The person taking our order was so patient as he tried to explain exactly what he wanted. He was clear he wanted guacamole and the staff member, maybe the manger or owner, heard that clearly and gave him a lot. We paid and took out seats. In less than 5 minutes our order was served to us and it was all great. We shared rice and beans with cheese, guacamole, nachos, and a taco. It was all old school traditional Spanish food and just as good as some much more expensive places we have been to. Their guacamole is thick and rich. It is perfect. It was all perfect. They have salsa and chopped onions and things like that out so you can carefully help yourself. The place is older and you can tell by the somewhat faded menu bar above the counter, but it was spotless. The tables are cleaned after someone leaves and there are plenty of napkins. The bathrooms are spotless and there is hand sanitizer if you feel the need. They also have take away, and I am sure there is a third party company that delivers. If you want great Mexican food at a fair price by a family owned place, this is for you. You will love it. read more

3.5 is the right rating, but I agree closer to 4 than 3. I went with the Machaca Burrito, but I gringo'ed it up and added sour cream, avo, pico. Everything was solid. Bottom line: I'd never seek out Pancho, but if I had to pop in and be a fat boi here, I wouldn't be upset about it. And they have free wifi! read more

Love Pancho's tacos. A lot of people have their opinions on best Mexican food on the west side, but this one just does it right for me. It gives a nostalgic Mexican cafe vibe and the food is very consistent. We love their crunch taco combo and their loco burrito. After Speaking with the owner previously, you can tell he has passion for what he does. He really shows good customer care. I wish I could do more to get the word out about this place. Food: I ordered a bean and cheese burrito. The size was good, pinto beans mashed, flour tortilla, and couldn't tell what kind of cheese was used but I could taste it and liked that it was melted. From my experience, most of the beans in burritos in LA are whole pinto beans, this was a nice treat, given that I didn't ask before hand. Mashed is what I prefer. Interior: Minimal, southern CA taqueria decor vibes, some Mexican decor and portraits, hard/maybe plastic tables and benches. Typical taqueria vibe but still cozy. Parking: Small parking lot right in front of the restaurant. Street parking also available. We parked in the lot, easy and convenient. Experience: No muss no fuss, order your food, and enjoy it inside or in their outside bench area. Price though was a bit much, for a bean and cheese burrito $8-9, whereas a super burrito w/ meat and other things is $10. Bean and cheese should always be way cheaper. Overall good. So I use to love coming here but I stopped for a while because they always forgot to give me something I wouldn't go back I would be to embarrassed. My brother wanted burrito and I missed going there I decided to go two weeks ago on a Sunday morning got my food came home they gave my brother a pork burrito so I had to drive back I was annoyed but I was very polite to the cashier. He messed up the order and tried to blame the cook and the cook was straight forward and said it was the cashier he had the paper in hand . I gave them back there burrito and they gave me a new one the one I wanted . So I decided to wait a week and come back this Sunday the same cashier in my mind it cant happen a again I won't lie I didn't give a tip this time because I was so dissatisfied with what happened two weeks ago .a reminder I gave him a tip two weeks ago for his poor service .i Order menudo 2 burritos got home my burrito was wrong again it was a carnitas I was going to eat it but I'm not much of a fan of carnitas but now it's the principal of the matter. I got there I said this to him I walked in and said to the cashier hey this happend two times I gave you the burrito back last time this time I'm not It's very inconvenience, and I want to eat with my family. The cook came different guy from last time he was really really polite and said no keep that one and I said thank you and he made me a new one and I had to get the Condiments for the mundo since he didn't put not one thing in there like lemon cilantro or onion thank God my hubby called me while I was driving over there remind you this is a to go order .
