Every time we have gone in the that's several months, and we have gone quite a few time because we like the food. They always seem to mess up the order. We order chicken teriyaki and every time they forget the sauce. So we ask for it on the side, hoping it wouldn't then be forgotten. But then that's not even in the order. Half the items are sold out and waiting to be prepared again, or they are woefully understaffed Too bad they have no competition The staff is utterly clueless as to what is going on. I visited just after noon on a weekday, prime for lunch traffic. I expected a long line, and to need to decide between waiting for some entree items to be replenished or go with another. I was super pleased to see little to no wait, and all menu items were full and ready. Friendliness and taste never disappoint, and I was just as happy on those points today. Something seemed to have changed this visit. I had just about given up on this location. Today the tables were clean, the floor was clean, everything was clean. It was not icy cold in there. I was waited on as soon as I walked in and the bins were full and I actually got what I wanted. Everything was nice, the people were nice and efficient and it looked like a smooth running place. We have gone to Panda many times over the years, but when we went tonight to get a meal we were yelled at by this extremely rude women behind the counter saying we need to wear a mask, even though since we have been vaccinated in January we haven't had to wear one. Suddenly today the management decided to mandate their customers to wear masks without prior notice of change in their policy. When I told the woman we didn't have masks she screamed they ran out of them & that we would have to leave immediately. This is a small town & as business owners ourselves we know the importance of good customer service. We took our business to another restaurant down the street & to say the least we will never spend our hard earned money at this Panda Express or anywhere else that can't treat customers with courtesy & consideration. read more

Staff is always friendly and orders are always accurate. Now more important than ever, the staff actually ask people in the restaurant that do not have masks on to put masks on. I surprises me that Grass Valley somehow got a Panda Express. But I will just be thankful and happy. The pros are: -food is generally fresh and consistent -restaurant is clean -most of the employees are very sweet The Cons: -they are not fast. Last week we had to wait for teriyaki chicken to be cooked and we waited almost 30 minutes. When we finally got the chicken, we were not given any sort of explanation and they didn't even give us an extra fortune cookie! Lol -parking can be frustrating. Since it is in a strip mall, you have to compete with Rite Aid, Round Table, grocery outlet, Staples, and a couple other stores customers for a parking spot -No drive thru, but I realize that you can't have it all! I used to love going here great service great food but today I was there I had a online order that was not ready someone who came in after me received the last of one of the entrées that I needed and I had to wait at least 10 minutes for that for that entree to be cooked and then the lady tried to explain to me that though my husband's entrées looked like they were full servings my entrées were less and she said well that's one serving per one scoop and I tried to explain that my servings were less but she was not willing to even consider my point. I placed an order online at 11:40 with a 12:00 pick up. I only have a 30 minute lunch so I wanted to be ready when I arrived. When I arrived a little after noon my order was not ready. It had not even been started. They were focusing on the long line of people ordering in restaurant. My coworker was with me and had also ordered online. Her's had been started but sitting there waiting for potstickers. She asked how long on the pot stickers and was told- "I don't know, I'm not a cook" then he proceeded to help more people waiting in line. We waited a few minutes longer and the take out line was growing and not being helped while the in house order line had all the attention. At 12:17 we asked again and the guy finally asked the cook and he had not started them and it would be another 7 minutes. She asked for a refund so we could just leave and he said he would have to get someone else. She wound up substituting something else and we left at 12:20! If you order online and need your food to be ready at the pick up time (or close) don't count on them. We got back to work and had to immediately go back to work. No lunch until next break. Every time I visit Panda Express I am always greeted with a great smile. The great customer service and serving sizes are worthy of praise. The servings are fairly large so I know that Im paying a good price and always have a portion of my meal later. See you next time read more

Food is usually decent for a fast food place. If you get it fresh and not some that has sat out. However they really need a new phone system. I could not get a hold of them to call in an order and when i did the one time, I was disconnected. Sounds like they do not have a professional phone but use some old cell phone.. read more

I just want to point out that I've noticed that you rip people off on al-a-cart boxes when it comes to premium items. I've ordered both the orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp (both medium al-a-cart) and each time I notice that they will fill the orange chicken up to the top, but the shrimp or whatever other premium side will only be filled up to half, but especially the shrimp. Your already paying $1 extra, and it shouldn't be common practice to scam people out of 50% of the food that should be in the box. They also do this on plates, they will give you 4 shrimp and then fill up the rest of the section with your other selection and it often dumps into your premium side. Frankly it's just not fair seeing how we all know your company can afford to fill up your. Plates and al-a-cart boxes to the top like you should. You guys fill up the soda cups till they can barely keep the lid on but you scam people out of half of your food. read more

I like this place because it is consistent. I've been burned too many times around GV/NC when ordering Chinese food and so I broke down and went corporate. I'm glad I did. Our second try. The first time we thought we didn't like it but the smell of the food brought us back today. They weren't what you'd call too busy, but their break schedule in the middle of lunch hour made it seem like the owner was nowhere around. The food was OK only, portions small. Went to Panda Express last week. Very disappointing. Floors were dirty with garbage, tables needed to be cleared and empty bowls where food should be. The staff was trying but really seemed clueless. I frequent this Panda restaurant at least once per week and everyone is always very accommodating, especially if I request to have a few more red bell peppers added to my dish (as these are my favorite) they oblige me and make sure I have plenty. Also, even when they are swamped and have a line 15+ people long, they greet me with a smile and make my visit more enjoyable. We love this Panda Express. The food is great and the employees working there are friendly and helpful. They also offer you a free sample of any entree you would like to try. We like to order online and pick it up. It is so simple, easy and you don't have to be concerned with waiting in a line when you are hungry. I've eaten here at least 20 times. Sometimes they are generous with the portions and sometimes they are stingy. I think it is the state of mind of the server at the time. I went in last night and I have to write a complement to Brandon! He was the friendliest employee I have ever met there and he gave a fair size portion. He even gave me one extra shrimp I didn't have to ask for. Also, he was not on the cash register, but the woman who was cleaning all the tables and trash areas came over to check me out. Sirivanh was very engaging. I had questions he answered quickly but responded to my humor with his own Very appreciated. It's a good thing. They sometimes get pretty backed up, but the line moves fairly quickly, and if the customer is cordial, the staff is less frustrated, and the whole experience is good. Every table absolutly filthy. Trashes overflowing. Cami in specific. Tucked her shirt in multiple times and didnt wash hands. Clearly portioning half of everyone else. Slow slow slow. Look- the food is delicious (when it's ready to order), service is just fine. If you're looking for fast service, however, you're not going to get it. It's worth it to order ahead online, that's the only way I'll do Panda from now on, at least at this location. I usually have to wait at least 15 minutes in line to order, which is difficult when you're extremely hungry and just want something to eat. You would think you can just get in, get your food, and go, but during their busiest hours, the line can go straight out the door. TLDR, order ahead online to save time. read more

Every time we do an online order there are mistakes. I get that they are busy and understaffed, but they always always forget to add items. When you catch it most of the employees act put off and inconvenienced by you wanting what you have already ordered and paid for. The online orders are almost always late on top of that. I visited once when they first opened and the experience was so poor that it took me years to try it again. My second visit was no better. The staff doesn't know how to communicate amongst themselves. Then I asked for sweetener for my tea... they have none of any sort. The girl told me they were stolen. I asked for soy sauce. Nope. No soy sauce. I didn't realized Grass Valley is the inner city but apparently it is because the bathrooms are locked down and require a code but the staff was moving so slowly the line was too long to wait to get the bathroom code. No worries.. if the cleanliness of the tables is any indication of what the bathrooms look like, I was better off with my decision to go to the gas station down the street. My husband is in the Emergency Room of Grass Valley hospital right now with food poisoning. He had the orange chicken dish last night and starting vomiting at 3am. He's vomited 5 times and his doctor in Santa Rosa said,"go to ER now!" no one in the group eat at Panda's but him, everyone else had pizza from other shop. Johnny was nice enough but only said he'd call corporate. I say oversee the help, the cooks, the process, and CLEAN YOUR PLACE UP! Then start over with big promotion saying THINGS HAVE CHANGED. Very poorly managed restaurant! The problem has been going on for YEARS! Always understaffed, and long lines to be served. The employees recently walked off the job due to terrible working conditions...and they had been overworked/underpaid for WEEKS! Management has been aware of these problems, but either doesn't care, or is incompetent in its ability to fix these issues. They are ALWAYS one person short in the serving line, and they cannot seem to hold on to employees either, as there is constant turnover. My friend and I would go there every week for lunch! It was good until last week when I found a hair (and not just any hair) in my rice. I also noticed while I was there that the cook making the chow mein was using his hands *without gloves* to put more noodles into the wok. He would pick them up and pull them a part before mixing them. This all transpired on the same day. I was at Panda on 6/25/15 at about 8 pm. While I was there, the cashier went over to another employee and said " I am done, I'm out of here. She looked upset. The girl she talked to started working behind the counter. The other girl that was behind the counter went in the back to talk to the one leaving. They were still visible and we're having an animated discussion. Meanwhile, the girl behind the counter was by herself doing it all. She waited on 6 people, the line was very long, then someone came to help her. If this is all visible and within earshot of a customer, that is not good business. It was really busy the whole time I was here, there weren't enough employees minding the counter. Everyone had a long wait. read more
