This is the worst Panda so far fir me. I came for chow Mein and there was only a little left in there. Mostly cabbage then noodles and oil. Shortly after writing my previous review of Panda Express, my hunger pains at a stand still, i'm sitting on my couch, chilling and relaxing, when all of a sudden, my mouth begins to salivate, and my tummy starts to feel very, very uncomfortable. (a run on sentence at it's finest) About an hour after, my belly full with String Bean Chicken, Eggplant Tofu, Chow Mein, and Fried Rice, I ran myself to the bathroom and emptied out all the contents of my stomach into the toilet. Serious, serious projectile vomiting. The scene in my bathroom was a chinese remake of the exorcist. I got really bad food poisoning here tonight, only thing I ate since lunch. Ate the food at 6:30pm and by midnight all bad. It is now 1:30 and im still heaving. Unfortunately, the concept of customer service is amiss in this place. Four workers standing behind the counter but the line was backed up. Who was and wasn't working? Looked like they were all just standing around. They were also confusing the customers' food trays and were putting the wrong food on some. Finally my turn after 10 minutes, and I only came in for a to-go order of Orange Chicken since that's the only thing my toddler eats. Yo I love panda express but the place opens at 10:30, and the sticker in the front says 10:00. Imagine my disappointment. When my hunger and their available hours do coincide things go quite swimmingly. They change one item on the menu every few months and it's enjoyable to try different things there, and the staple food is also very delicious. FYI I normally get the teriyaki chicken, cuz I love chicken, the one beef that's red and has peppers, cuz it's great, and whatever is the "new" item, which changes frequently. I really liked the walnut prawns or shrimp they have but as someone who prefers food with less breading rather than more I wouldn't recommend it if you're counting carbs. Otherwise it's very good too. Ymmv with portions but I find it adequate usually and can have two meals if im mindful of how much I'm eating, though I also start by eating the side dishes I normally get (chicken eggroll and the cream or cheese things that look like X's near the register). It's great value for the price imo, taste-wise. read more

I have been going to this Panda since it opened. For some reason I get very little servings for higher price. Same servers but less food for higher price. I kind of started going downhill about a year ago. Like they trained them to serve less. Too bad for the chain that they are doing this considring that the chinese food is really cheap. read more

People would walk zombie-like right past this stellar, unique mom & pop eatery to line up for the disgusting Panda orange chicken swill instead, the sugary stink permeating the air for hundreds of yards in every direction, drawing weak-minded people in like flies to a bug zapper when ambrosia sat right next door. Let me tell you about City Bistro. Their tuna melt (with tomato lobster bisque) was The Absolute Finest Tuna Melt In The Entire Universe, orders of magnitude better than even the well-regarded tuna melt at Zorba's Deli. Their meatball sub (aka "The Sleeper") could feed two hungry linebackers. Oh my God. And the California Club sandwich...a friend would drive up all the way from south San Jose just to eat this sandwich and drive home. Would you drive 70 miles round trip for orange chicken? I don't think so. You can get that vile slop anywhere, it's practically computer-generated. But you'll never get to experience that tuna melt, or the meatball sub, or the California Club, because they're gone now, because people are too scared to try something different that's not cookie-cutter preformulated and mundane and predictable. Let's start off by being honest. Panda Express is to Chinese food as Taco Bell is to Mexican food. It's not "Chinese" food; it's fast food. Understanding this principle is key to any fast-food review. This particular establishment in my experience has been just fine. The various entrees including the oh-so-famous "orange chicken" are always fresh and in-stock; no waiting for 10 minutes while the chef prepares it. I am always offered a sample (or two) every time I walk in the door no matter how busy it gets. The staff probably could be a little friendlier when it comes to service, they have a tendency to sort of bark out one or two-word sentences "To-go?!" or "Side?!" or "Medium Drink?! The food overall is of good quality for a Panda Express and the facility is quite clean. I have never had a problem that has ultimately made me second guess frequenting this branch so a 4-star review in my opinion is justified. read more

Panda Express - Back up order - Chinese Near Me - Hayward, California

Few years ago I was there almost every day, stuff noticed that and offered me a discount which was great! Stuff here is pretty friendly and works fast. It's not the best service but it's good enough for me and it's better than other local fast food joints. In my opinion what makes panda express so popular is their fried rice and cho mein. Both are amazing! They never disappoint me in this location. However at this location grilled chicken had a lot of fat lately, last time it was so bad that now I'm scared to even try. I will give this restaurant 5 stars both here and on google when they remove excess fat from grilled chicken. read more

This place never cooks the food correctly! Every time I eat here (it's close to my job for lunch), I noticed and I've heard ppl inside complain as well, the food is never cooked right. The first time the mixed vegetables were hard and not cooked, the next time was the chow mein did not taste right, not sure if it was missing something, it tasted gross and a lot of ppl were complaining! The next time I tried the new super greens and it was not cooked again it was hard! Every time I come here, something's not cooked right. I try to keep my distance from this place as much as possible. Ive had too many bad experiences. I came here tonight because i wanted Wing Stop, and the wife wanted Panda Express. So i pre-ordered my Wing Stop online, and went here to get her food, so i could get my wing stop on the way home. Good thinking right? Wrong. When i got to Panda Express. there was probably 4 couples in front of me in line. Figured it should go pretty quickly, so i can go get my real food across the street. They were moving extremely slow. I could see two cooks, a cashier, and a server. The main server guy that gets your rice or chow mein kept going into the back room then coming out again. But he wasnt bringing food with him, so i have no idea what he was doing. It literally took about 25 minutes from the time i stepped through the door, til the time i got into my car. My wing stop order was cold when i picked it up, thanks a lot. It was so bad at Panda, that one of the cooks ended up coming over to take my order!! He brought over a refill of chow mein, and since no one else was around, took my order at the same time. They were out of probably 4-5 dishes... the orange chicken is usually in a huge tray, all they had was a half tray. There were missing trays and i took one look at the pot stickers and egg rolls and came to the conclusion that they had been there all day, so i passed. When it comes to rating companies on Yelp, my main criteria is how much they value my time as a customer. The food is the same every time we go, it really doesnt change much. But they dont value people's time. None of the workers speak very good english, and that just pisses me off. Shortly after my husband checked in here a friend swiftly informed us that Panda Express is not hipster enough to be mentioned on yelp. I fancy myself a bit of a rebel tonight and I wont just mention Panda I'll review it! Semi-slow service, mediocre American-Chinese food, average prices. It's basically a walk-in only fast food restaurant and, really, if you come here expecting anything amazing that's your own mistake. I enjoyed the grilled terriaki chicken and steamed rice and my husband likes the orange chicken and walnut shrimp ($1 extra on top of the regular meal price) with chow mein. I like Panda Express as a matter of fact my family of 5 likes it a lot. Why every time we go in the employees are rude? Maybe a language barrier, but I'm not sure. Tell me why all the soda taste like water. My wife proceeded to tell the lady the lemonade and soda was out. The lady walks over pours some lemonade said not it's fine. Um no lady don't tell us it's normal I've been drinking fountain drinks for 35 years, it tastes like water!!!! So we kept on wasting the drinks trying new flavors. All of a sudden the Pepsi has a bit more flavor. Then my youngest needs to use the restroom. The soap is watery and there's no toilet paper or paper towels. Really???? I understand being a manager your goal is to implement scrap reduction measures that minimize waste and maximize production yields to capture recurring annual savings but your being cheap and effecting customer service. I spent $40 and can't even get 5 fortune cookies, one for each of us. The only reason we come back is due to the pot stickers that the one by our house doesn't serve. Usually the food is decent here but my review is going to be more about customer service. I ordered food to be picked up in about 20 minutes or so and left about when the pick up time was scheduled. I walk in and go to where you pick up your order and am on able to make eye contact or interject with a single employee forfive minutes people are skipping in front of me that have came in and ordered in and I am still trying to get someone to give me my pick up order. When I finally asked if I am ordering something I respond that I am picking up an order and points to the bag in the back that I assume is mine. I am given the bag and now must quickly rush to the car to meet someone in time for their lunch. As I am stopped at a light I noticed that they did not follow any of the instructions I had put in the online order so there were no utensils and no sauce included. I have picked up here before with no problems and everything has been good in the past but this time I really felt that my time was wasted. Why give us an option to put special instructions if the people aren't reading the special instructions and following them? really disappointed this time. Pick up should only be taking like a minute I should not be standing there for more than five minutes trying to get someone's attention if it's not busy at all. Hopefully this changes in the future because otherwise this place is been pretty ok. Update: Another disappointing visit, unfortunately my fiancé was craving chinese food and insisted on panda. No longer will order specialty items at this location. My second plate was 3 items regular size. And got a little more than first plate. As I ate I chewed into a paper plastic!! I just went to panda to buy foods. I ordered 4 combination and small box of grilled chicken. The Filipina - name ( Katherine G) who work there cut the grilled chicken and I saw that she left 1 piece of small grilled chicken. So I said to my husband look, she even left just a piece. Instead of putting it inside. So she answered in Tagalog or Filipino language that she put enough already. So I told her just put that 1 small piece of chicken and I'm willing to pay for it. She even whispered ok you said it that you will pay for it in insulting way. So when I heard it, I told her that why she's talking a lot and insulting me as if I cannot pay for it. She even said it will not fit in the box that's why she left that 1 small piece of grilled chicken. So, I told her you're telling me it doesn't fit, and yet now you put it bcoz I paid extra and yet it fits. And she keeps talking back and she even told me not to come back . I even told her you're not even the owner to tell me that. And that she's very rude. She even said that we are patay gutom. This is too much. She is way beyond very rude. She's not supposed to work in the customer service since her attitude is like that. I even talk to the manager and the manager just apologized.
