Had an early dinner tonight, about 5:30 pm. Panda's wasn't too busy and we scored a parking right up front. Food was pretty stocked in their bowls, but I wanted mushroom chicken, (the only bowl almost empty)so the wait for it was 5 minutes. I waited. We noticed there was only 1 cook but about 5-6 Employees. Tons of open tables but we wanted the booth next to the window. The booth was super dirty so I asked an employee if she had a towel so I could wipe it. She did me a favor and wiped it for me while bringing the shades down. Thanks girlie :) Now the only reason why I'm giving Panda's 2 stars is because....... While waiting for the table to be wiped my husband had to use the restroom. He went to open the restroom door but it was locked, so he waited thinking there was someone in it. About 3 seconds later an employee comes with a key, my husband and I both thought she was opening it for him but she opened it for herself. We couldn't believe our eyes. I'm not sure if she was being aware of her surroundings, but I'm pretty sure my husband wasn't standing there for his good looks. When he got out, apparently the 2 little intermediate girls were waiting too. If my husband knew he needed a key he would've asked. There was no sign on the door, so he assumed someone was in there. But for the employee to by pass him not even acknowledging him was a pretty low blow. What ever happen to customer service. I know in retail, whenever you see a customer it's a MUST to greet them. Panda Express in Kamehameha Shopping Center has been a great addition the family of existing eateries. Yes, we all know this is not genuine Chinese cuisine. My daughter, who recently spent a year in Beijing, shared how different mainland China cuisine is from anything she's ever experienced in Hawaii. "I wish we had a Panda Express in China!...although they would've found it odd..." she lamented during our rare-connections over Skype. What can you really say about Panda Express? It's essentially where we go when nobody can agree where to go. It's not Chinese food by any stretch, but if you luck out and get in line when they actually have what you want instead of the dreaded empty pan, it's like a total score. Wow this Panda location is the best! Very clean and new interior, friendly service but most important fresh and tasty food. We are in the process of moving so have been eating out more and this is our go-to for more healthy fast food. The orange chicken is always flavored well and the beef broccoli has been really tasty lately. Compared to the mall location I feel the food tastes better here. Panda Express is a really big chain store with lots of employees. The food is consistent, but sometimes the employees are not. In the case of Kamehameha SC Panda, this is not the case. We come here at least a few times a month and besides their famous orange chicken, we enjoy this location's "famous" friendly service and efficiency. The folks behind the counter are always courteous and professional, but they are quick with a smile and a thank you. Other Panda stores could learn from them. Raise your hand if you thought that this place actually served pandas when you were a kid. Okay, I see a thousand hands. And don't deny that you weren't one of 'em. Fortunately for the WWF, this place is just a popular Chinese chain restaurant. The only panda you'll see is the occasional employee dressed as a mascot patrolling the premises. Opened about 2 weeks ago, this fast food restaurant is a nice addition to the busy shopping center. (Also being employed at this shopping center and eating at the same old restaurants here can get a little boring. It was time for a change!) We came here on a Wednesday afternoon around 2pm and there was a line that led out the door. Typical though- new place, different food, school just ended, free Wifi.. Those were just some of the many reasons why the restaurant was bustling with people. The line did move quickly though and when it was our turn, we decided on a 2 entree plate of orange chicken and a sweet chili chicken of some sort. Sampled the orange chicken with bacon (new dish) and it tasted a little dry as if there was no sauce on it. Most of the dishes boast of a low caloric serving (if you consider ~250 calories low.) The noodles and fried rice we ordered were also a little bland. Perhaps this is the healthier way of cooking? Or perhaps someone ran out of salt? Either way it was okay to me because I kept convincing myself I was eating health... ier than a fatty juicy burger. However, there was still the small thought in the back of my mind that this was fast food after all. Oh what the heck, it's still summer. Summer beach body hayyyy. Our two entrees were good as I like anything sweet and sour. The orange chicken didn't have as much sauce as I thought it would, but it was still enjoyable. If I were to come here again, I'd try the Beijing beef which looked really delicious. What fascinated me the most was the tea bar! The menu consists of fruit teas, milk teas, lemonades, and ice-blended drinks. We ordered a passion fruit ice tea and a mangolicious freeze. The cashier who assisted me had to ask the barista if the flavors were available because some are sold out or unavailable, but you won't know until you order. She asked if we wanted boba and I said yes, but when we got our drinks, neither of them had boba :( Normally I'm not one to complain, so I moped around for five seconds, but the drinks were really good without the boba, too. Service was great and efficient for the line that was present. The employees are courteous and don't rush you while you choose your entrees. The communication between barista and cashier needs to be a little better or there should be signs indicating which types of drinks are unavailable that day. Overall, I liked the bright atmosphere and decorations and the taste of new kinds of food in the shopping center. read more

I like to call this place Fancy Panda. Why? Because it's a Panda Express with cool designs on the wall and they even have a tea bar. Yup, a tea bar where you an a tea like you want it...not so sweet with aloe and rainbow jelly. Oh wait, that's how I like mine! This place is located in Kam Shopping Center. The staff is friendly and the food is what you would expect from Panda Express. It's great that you can get tea here. The tea was good as can be expected from a food chain kinda of place like this. And it's reasonable, $2.50-$4.30 for the drink and you can add things like boba or jelly for $0.50 additional each. I think it's great that they incorporated this concept. I hope all Pandas will end up being Fancy Pandas. read more

I secretly LOVE Panda Express. My friends tease me saying it's not real Chinese Food, I know that, but it's comfort food! This location is brand new! TV screen menus, a tea bar, everything is clean and shiny! I didn't try any teas, but thought it was so cool. I regret not trying one. I got my usual. Kid's meal with chow fun and chicken and string beans. I was sad to see there was just enough chicken and string beans for my order. I was thinking great, I get the leftovers...but they asked me if I would like to wait for a new batch! I was so excited! Yes! Of course I'll wait! No one has ever asked me that, and I'm not one to impose. The wait was so worth it! A fresh hot entrée! Yum! I actually had to wait for it to cool down. My meal is $6 now, I don't know if there was a price increase for all Panda's or just this one. I did try their Kung Pow Chicken, it was yummy, but I was craving old faithful. The staff was so nice to offer me that, and just generally friendly. More than I expected. As I ate I watched them interact with various customers and they were continually nice. Offering fresh batches of food, smiling, saying thank you like they mean it, telling customers goodbye, and cleaning. This may seem like normal standards, but in a fast food place like Panda? I don't usually expect so much. I was so impressed that I had to tell the staff that they are doing a great job. I can't give 5 stars, because well this isn't fancy dining, and the food is standard panda. However, this has become my NEW favorite Panda. I love that I can see them making the food, and see that their facilities look clean. Staff is great and love the new diggs! I like the feel of this Panda Express even though it can get very busy. There seating is pretty comfortable and you can sit inside or outside which is nice. Tonight it wasn't too busy. Today this Panda Express made up for the last fiasco I had here. The young man doing the front end serving was very nice and accommodating. The brown rice was barely getting its cook on so he offered me veggies. I, gasped because those little bushes called broccoli were present and dominating the dish. I'm not a fan of broccoli and told him and he offered to have the cooks blanch some without the broccoli. I was a happy camper and ordered veggies and rice. My entrees were black pepper chicken and teriyaki chicken. They were rather fresh and tasty. I finished most of my veggies and rice and made a good dent in the chicken, but let's just say tomorrow people will be hating on me for lunch. I'm glad that this was a far better experience than a few weeks ago. I am glad I let people and places redeem themselves and they have. I'll definitely be coming back and hope to get the same level of customer service and quality of food. read more

This review is just for the tea bar... I'm really not a fan of American style Chinese food so you don't want me reviewing that haha.. Today was my first time in many many years at panda express. I've heard about their tea bar for quite a while now and decided to finally check it out. I ordered a lychee green tea. The price is quite standard to most tea places.. however for the quality of tea that they are serving, it seems to be a little pricy. This is supposed to be a fast food chain, not a place that specializes in tea! So as I said, I ordered my lychee green tea and watched as the guy made it for me. All he did was pump about 3 to 5 pumps of syrup and poured some already-made tea into the cup before sealing it. Given that panda express is a fast food chain, I'm pretty sure that the tea that they are using isn't exactly the highest grade of tea. That's fine though. The thing that really got to me was the fact that he didn't mix the syrup with the tea at all. So my first few sips of tea included the thick sugary lychee syrup (actually all my sips thus far, since I've only taken a few sips). Since the cup is sealed and filled with ice and tea, I currently can't mix it very well myself. I've tried... But had no luck getting rid of the thick syrup taste. I think it would taste pretty good.... If it didn't make me feel like I was drinking pure syrup... I guess I'll continue trying to mix the syrup into the tea.. On the plus side, service was great other than the way he made my tea. The girl who rang me up was pretty nice and the guy who made my tea initiated some small talk while he was making my tea. Friendly service really makes a huge difference! :D Overall: decent but please please please mix the syrup with the tea (either with a shaker or one of those cocktail mixing spoons) before serving!!! read more

I ordered pandas from Uber eats for dinner.. I can't believe they had the audacity to give us dry hard rice and soggy chicken that seem like they had kept food from the day before and sell it to the people who order from Uber eats online.. so you wouldn't be make a compliant or get your money back! This is very awful, I am sure that the food should be fresh coming in to order.. but buying my food through Uber eats by them was so messed up what they did. Our food was dry and disgusting. I got a larger plate for my husband and I which was a total of $32 including the delivery fee... I am very disgusted with what they did to our food. Our rice was so hard we couldn't even eat it it felt like it was microwaved everything! Even our egg roll! will not ever order food from here again or suggest anyone too off Uber eats and if you are coming in to eat please sample before eating! read more

I love pandas whenever I feel I'm in a mood for some Chinese food. Well Americanized version of chinese food that is. I don't really like to eat anything heavy in general especially when eating these type of hearty foods. So I usually just get the panda bowl which include 1 starch and 1 food choice. I've tried a lot of these items before but I love the mushroom chicken the best. Maybe because I'm a little health conscious that it seems to be one of the more healthier ones on the food menu. I usually top it off with brown rice for a healthier choice option. This pandas location open last year I believe so it's a fairly new location. The inside decor is modernized and it's one of the nicer pandas I've been to. There's a good amount of tables and chairs to enjoy your meal. There's tv as well for your entertainment. I've never sat inside since I always get take out and never had a problem with their service. Quick and on the go type of food is what sums this place up. I like that they had a panda bar that offers a wide variety of drinks such as teas, bobas, tea jelly. There was a catchy sign that I saw that made me want to try it but I didn't have it in my stomach at that time to try it then but it made me want to go back and try it. This place is convenient for me as I live nearby so it'll probably be a place for me to stop by whenever I'm craving for pandas. read more

Location is very convenient, inside Kamehameha Shopping Center. Food is yummy like all other Panda Express locations. But what makes this place special is the Panda Tea Bar. I've never seen this at any other location in Oahu so it just might be the first on the islands. They have fruit teas, ice blended teas, lemonades, milk teas or plain tea. Lots of different flavors to choose from and you can also add things like boba (big or small) , jelly (coffee, tea, or grass) , fruit jelly (rainbow or lychee) , aloe vera, pudding, or chia seeds. So many different options, you might wanna try them all! They recently opened a week or two ago and I've already been there multiple times. I honestly was very disappointed of this panda express location, the customer service is very terrible. I know they have to serve there customer's but I had to wait for my order for about 20 minutes. Employees were rude; no manners, not smiling, negative vibe. Manager was unprofessional when I asked about my order and how I was waiting for to long and that my food was getting cold. There cooks especially, they were short handed. I literally seen one of there cooks go on break at 8:30pm on a Sunday when they close at 9. Management and customer service needs to improve. This location is a hit or miss so I avoid it unless I absolutely gots to have my Panda fix! Most of time I visit the location by the airport but I'd love to see more consistency at this location that is only a few blocks away from me. Things that need consistency: Customer Service- Be pleasant Food- The scooping of food is sometimes just right, too much, or not enough‍ On more than 2 occasions I have ordered the Orange chicken and its dry(probably needs more sauce or its been sitting there for awhile it dries up) The timing of refilling the food could be better timed I get it, working at restuarants are stressful and cant be perfect everytime.. but consistency is what is needed. read more

3 out of 5 times to this location, customer service is poor or lacking. Disappointed! Today's visit was the longest I've waited for a new batch of an entree. I normally don't mind the wait but watching the employees work and noticing how they did not communicate with the cook that a customer is waiting specifically for a certain item -- no sense of urgency. No employee acknowledged me standing off to the side waiting nor did anyone follow up on my plate sitting there with the rest of my other 2 plates getting cold. First off I would like to say this pandas is REALLY NICE. I do not like giving low ratings but I couldn't believe today. My first time here To this pandas i really liked it, usually you would think the staff would be friendly. To me they seemed to be rushing things. My friend and I were in line I ordered 3 panda bowls 1 with mixed vegetables orange chicken, 1 with fried rice and orange chicken and the last with chowfun and sweet fire, anyway she tells me I have to wait for the chow fun 10 min or so which is not a problem so I do. Once we get our food, I notice that the panda bowl with mixed veggies which was mine, only had a few vegetables and the rest was chowfun! I didn't know why, now you must think "oh well they pack it in front of you why weren't you paying attention!" THIS is why! My friends son who is a toddler was throwing up! Might I add on the floor, we were too busy noticing that and the workers looked at it and did NOTHING, my friend cleaned it up, and the lady besides us helped as well, THE workers looked at them and did NOTHING. My friend even went up to the counter to ask for paper towels and the girl tried to give her more napkins. Talk about cleanliness. Way to go pandas staff, next time something like that happens you should do something about it. Help at least. But my friend ended up doing a better job then what they probably woulda done. I would have rated this a 3 or even a 4 but the last visit on 4/28 was the last time I will be going here, which my son will be very sad about since he loves orange chicken. I however, am not a fan of food poisoning. We ordered 3 plates at around 1:30pm, and have narrowed it down to the beijing beef. The chow fun, fried rice, orange chicken, and mushroom chicken were okay but everyone who ate the beijing beef had the squirts. Ordered food online, had a family member go to pick it up but they were told they didn't have the order. I went in the next day to tell them I didn't receive my food from the previous day. The manager Melody refuse to give me the food I paid for and refuse to give me a refund. After investigation of the surveillance tapes and looking over my receipt from the previous day she realized that I in fact did not receive my food. She had the worse customer service and only apologized to us after telling her we'd like an apology for making a huge fuss and accusing me of lying about the whole thing. I'll never go in here again. i never even knew there was a Pandas in Kam shopping center. its right inbetween payless shoes and subway. The insides seem to have been renovated lately because everything seemed new and nice with a very modern style and even had several flat screen tvs mounted on the wall. We got here right before the dinner rush (around 4:45pm) The order counter is right up to the door so if there is 3 people in line you might be standing outside the door. We was lucky and just made it. The workers seem pretty proficient and the line moved efficiently. I read other reviews saying this location has the most friendly workers. Maybe we came on an off day but the workers didnt seem overly friendly but they were accomodating and pleasant. This particular branch was cool because they were also part of a Farrington fundraiser. The food was pretty consistant with any other Panda I have been to and the portions were decent (i have encountered less than generous locations in the past). Take their tex mex (so to speak) style of chinese food...(which i prefer over traditional chinese fare) reasonable prices and good portions and now in Kam shopping center whats not to like read more

Did an online order that was supposed to be ready 5 minutes before we got there. It wasn't ready so we waited about 15 minutes and when we got home we saw that they gave us the completely wrong order. They even looked at my online receipt and name and tied the bag up tight so I was reluctant to open it and check. It was my first time visiting Panda Express at this location. The workers are cheerful, energetic, and very accommodating. I can even see them smiling even with a mask. I love how they served us.
