Well, for the price you can't really complain. It's pretty good .ordered the broccoli beef and the walnut shrimp -when they rang up my bill. It seemed high and then they said there was a surcharge for the shrimp which wasn't clear not that much only $1.50 but still.. the broccoli beef was good although they were a little cheap on the beef. Positive online ordering interaction at this Panda Express location. I was picking up food for my mom and dad who are stuck at home with the big "C." I went up to the place near the cash register for online pickup and was helped within 30 seconds of standing there even though there was a pretty big line. All utensils and sauces were in my order. Came here to try the Beyond Meat Orange "Chicken" and it was worth it! This is one of the few locations where this is being offered. The outside was crispy and held the sauce well, and the texture inside was great too. It's obviously not real chicken, but it's close enough to the texture of some hypothetical type of meat, which is pretty good in my book. Thank you Panda Express for offering such an innovative product!! Besides that, the rest of the Panda experience is very average. The ladies here could be a bit friendlier. I felt like the fried noodles and fried rice were very average and kind of dry. The eggplant tofu was just alright. But the Beyond orange chicken is worth another trip back! read more

Panda Express is fast food...it already says it in it's name. I have frequently gone to this location for lunch with my coworkers. This place gets pretty busy at lunch and even when they first open sometimes there is already people waiting to get in. My go to lunch pick with the bowl with chow mein and honey walnut shrimp. When I went this past Thursday, they packed in the chow mein, but didn't put much of the shrimp and walnuts. I love walnuts so I was disappointed. There was a line when we got there, but the line went by fairly quickly. The location is clean. There were customers who were eating inside the restaurant if you choose to dine in. I was very exciting to eat my lunch! The honey walnut shrimp was tasty as always. The chow mein tasted like it was burnt. I didn't finish it. It's fast food, so it can be a hit or miss. This time, it was a miss, but most likely I will be back at some point. read more

I DO have a more positive impression of Panda Express because they took the time and effort to reach out to me and try to fix the issue, which I will say has not happened to me since, though I've only return 3 more times in person after the bad experience because I usually have just ordered delivery and the pandemic happened. :,) For a Panda Express branch, I would give it 4*. Came in tonight, 2/12/24 at 8:28pm, one girl servicing a guest while the other two on their phones ‍ The two cooks looked at me. No one greeted. Even the cooks looked confused as to why there wasn't anyone helping at the front. No line either. 7 minutes later, one of the cooks took initiative to help me serve my order. Interesting vibe in this location on El Monte. Had some food caked on and dried out on to the holding woks on the food line. Chow Mein was dry. Orange chicken was over cooked and hard to chew, probably because it was in the warmer for quite some time, next to the beef dish that was burnt onto the holding wok. I had a really uncomfortable interaction today at this panda. For context, I don't eat chicken. I ordered my plate, and the server took out a pre-assembled plate with the same side, but the two mains were chicken. She began to dump out the chicken dishes back in the serving bowls, and went to grab the main I had asked for. When I told her I don't eat chicken and requested a new plate she gave me a really dirty look and told me "it's the same". I asked a second time, and finally was given a new plate. I thought it was very unprofessional that they tried to serve me someone else's plate (unclear if an online order wasn't picked up, or if they had messed up someone else's plate), and that they would put food back in the serving bowl. I asked for more, and the two ladies serving the food on Jan. 26 @2PM showed me some serious attitude. On top of that they didn't understand English. I had to point to everything. The teriyaki chicken and chow mein were horrible. The lady wouldn't give me chow mein from the fresh batch they just made, instead she ignored my request and kept giving us the stale noodles from the old pot. Barely any meat in my side of chicken, just a bunch of pieces of burnt skin (see photo). The other lady who rang me up wouldn't give me extra soy and chili sauce. I know everything is sweet but it tasted like everything was overly sweetened. Couldn't even finish it. It's really amazing to see that more and more companies are incorporating plant-based options on the menu! We drove to a specific participating location of @officialpandaexpress in Mountain View as they just started rolling out these Beyond Orange Chick'n in the Bay Area! The nuggets were decently seasoned and has a nice touch of crispiness to them. We ordered ours with a side of greens and had them with quinoa made at home for some extra protein in our grains. So my husband and I used to come here all the time when we lived in Mountain View but since moving to San Jose, obviously we have not frequented this location. We do however come back to Mountain View often to visit family and such so one day when we were done with some errands in this area we decided to get some lunch. Panda sounded good so we came here and of course we ran into the lunch crowd. I personally think it's very odd how this location is structured, when you first walk in immediately to the left is where the line forms so every time they have a crowd of people you basically have to walk through a line of people in order to get to the end of it. It seems like it would've made more sense to make the start of the line at the back of the location that way you can just walk in and get in line and then as you're done you could just walk towards the entrance of the location. A minor thing I think but it is kind of annoying because when you first walk in there's sometimes just this huge crowd of people. The food itself is roughly the same as any other location, I don't think it's stellar but for some reason it just sounds really good every now and then. I think the portion sizes has gone down over the years, or maybe it's just this location I'm not sure. But I seem to recall a time when they would actually heap your food into the to go boxes and now it's like they barely make it level which kind of sucks because I'm still there paying the same price as before. The location itself, as I said before is structured a little oddly in my opinion, but everything else is nice. It's clean when you walk in, they provide silverware and napkins but again because of the weird structuring sometimes you have to get through a long line in order to get to the silverware. They do have the assortment of drinks at the counter so you can just grab whatever you want and go, and it looks like they have ample seating if your plan is to stay there and eat. read more
