I normally do not go out of my way to write a review, but in this case, I am making an exception. I walked in and ordered at 10:40 yesterday. I went to PetSmart to pick up some cat food and was back within 10 minutes. At 11:00, I asked about my food order, and the woman said just a few moments. I ordered 4 Spam Musubi, and 1 order of Lumpia. At 11:10, I ran out of time, at this point I have been waiting for 30 minutes, my food was still not ready, and I had to leave. I asked for a refund, and the woman said the Manager was not in, and to come back later. I came back at 7pm that night, I do not believe the guy was the Manager, I explained what happened, and was told they could not give me a refund. Absolutely brutal experience. read more

10/10 -- Absolutely Incredible! We stopped at LL Hawaiian and WOW... this place is something special! We ordered the combo plate where you can choose two proteins, and we went with half beef and half shrimp. Both were AMAZING -- the shrimp was perfectly crunchy and the beef was packed with flavor. We also got the 3 musubi mix (one katsu, one spam, one BBQ chicken) and every single one was delicious. We added a side of katsu and the portions were HUGE -- two big eaters couldn't even finish it. Total bang for your buck! The sauce was incredible, the sides (mac, rice, and salad) were on point, and everything tasted super fresh. 10/10 would recommend!!! Decent Hawaiian fast food in Palo Alto. I stopped by after meeting a work friend at Crowne Plaza nearby - he was in town from Kansas City for the 50th anniversary celebration of the internet (specifically TCPIP). My eye was immediately drawn to the Musubi selection, and I ordered one of each type - spam, chicken Katsu, BBQ chicken, and Portuguese sausage (each about $3). These took longer to prepare than I expected, and were jammed into a tiny container. I carefully arranged them so I could take a photo for this review, then went about sampling them. The flavor-packed Portuguese sausage Musubi was my favorite, followed by the crispy chicken Katsu. The spam Musubi was ok. The BBQ chicken was my least favorite - dry, chewy, and overly filled to the point that the seaweed wrapper fell apart as I bit into it. The Katsu sauce was bland and watery, so it amused me to see a sign which said $0.25 for extra Katsu sauce! I don't mind paying extra as long as the sauce (Katsu or otherwise) is worth it! Bathrooms need better cleaning and maintenance. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, and lots of parking. read more

L&L Hawaiian BBQ is an okay option for Hawaiian-inspired BBQ. While the food was tasty, the prices felt slightly steep. If you're in the area and craving Kalua pig or Katsu, it's worth a try. I baught some food here and it got me sick. I tryed the mix combo with short rib chicken and some shredded meat that was so toughf it was like dried jerky. It is always perfectly cooked and they give so much chicken that I eat it as two separate meals. I also pick up a couple spam musubi and bring them with me to Shoreline Amphitheatre as a snack during concerts. (NOTE: It is not the traditional Bulldog tonkatsu sauce but we like it more) 2) Half and Half - For a little bit more, make it a combo and you will get 2 different favors. Kalua Pork (w cabbage) + BBQ. 3) Garlic fish is actually good - just make sure to ask the garlic to be well done. I think the stand garlic style is a little bit on the raw side. I showed up in person and placed my order. The wait wasn't too bad - I got it within 10 minutes of ordering. I got the regular sized Chicken Katsu Plate... And dang it was a lot of food... literally a MOUND of chicken katsu!! I only made it through a third of it for dinner. I brought it home after a 20 minute drive, and the katsu was still hot and crispy, which was nice. It went really well with the katsu sauce. The terriyaki sauce was just ok. The mac salad was below average. It wasn't as flavorful and sweet as other ones I've had in the past. I also wasn't a fan of the raw onions in it ‍ I would come back! One of the better L&L locations out there! I feel like it's always hit and miss depending on the location, and I'm happy to report that this L&L is great. I came by on a Friday evening and placed a take out order in person. It was slightly busy with a few parties ordering and waiting, so it took me about 5 minutes to order, and another 10-15 minutes to get my food. I ordered the chicken katsu plate as well as the grilled chicken plate. The portions are massive and generous. I think one plate could easily feed two people. The prices are also on the lower end for what it is and the amount. The chicken katsu is fried to perfection and comes with the tasty katsu sauce. The grilled chicken also had just the right amount of seasoning and you could taste the char on there. I also really liked their macaroni salad since it wasn't too heavy. Overall I would recommend coming by for a quick and cheap meal. Parking is easy in the large lot. read more

I ordered a Loco Moco with no gravy, eggs over easy, brown rice and macaroni salad. I waited maybe 5-10 minutes to get my food as there weren't that many people here. The food at L&L has generally been decent for me. The hamburger patties on the Loco Moco are drier than I would like. This location definitely knows how to make eggs over easy so that's appreciated. Portion sizes are generous, which is always a plus. The service has been good the last few visits. I've had one negative incident in which L&L made a mistake on my order and asked me if I just wanted to take it.
