10/10 -- Absolutely Incredible! We stopped at LL Hawaiian and WOW... this place is something special! We ordered the combo plate where you can choose two proteins, and we went with half beef and half shrimp. Both were AMAZING -- the shrimp was perfectly crunchy and the beef was packed with flavor. We also got the 3 musubi mix (one katsu, one spam, one BBQ chicken) and every single one was delicious. We added a side of katsu and the portions were HUGE -- two big eaters couldn't even finish it. Total bang for your buck! The sauce was incredible, the sides (mac, rice, and salad) were on point, and everything tasted super fresh. 10/10 would recommend!!! We would honestly make the trip out here again just for this restaurant. A new favorite for sure!

Pretty solid spot for Hawaii BBQ. I went with the healthy plate. Excellent portions for the price. Portions are amazing. They have a lot of great items that are delicious and perhaps not as healthy. Interior is clean, no frills and service is solid. Check this place out.

Delicious food and service was amazing. The girl taking my order was super helpful. I was trying to choose between seafood combo plate or fried shrimp but I'm glad she convinced me with the fried shrimp. It came out pretty quick and it was so delicious.

I would have honestly rated this higher because the food was pretty decent, but I found a hair in my mac salad :( Parking was simple, easy to get to and right by one of the MV Petsmarts. We got the Chicken Katsu/Loco Moco half and half plate-- everything was great minus the hair! We also got the garlic shrimp, which I feel like could have been marinated longer. Prices were reasonable as well. I would come back here so long as there is actionable change in cleanliness :,)

Decent Hawaiian fast food in Palo Alto. I stopped by after meeting a work friend at Crowne Plaza nearby - he was in town from Kansas City for the 50th anniversary celebration of the internet (specifically TCPIP). My eye was immediately drawn to the Musubi selection, and I ordered one of each type - spam, chicken Katsu, BBQ chicken, and Portuguese sausage (each about $3). These took longer to prepare than I expected, and were jammed into a tiny container. I carefully arranged them so I could take a photo for this review, then went about sampling them. The flavor-packed Portuguese sausage Musubi was my favorite, followed by the crispy chicken Katsu. The spam Musubi was ok. The BBQ chicken was my least favorite - dry, chewy, and overly filled to the point that the seaweed wrapper fell apart as I bit into it. The Katsu sauce was bland and watery, so it amused me to see a sign which said $0.25 for extra Katsu sauce! I don't mind paying extra as long as the sauce (Katsu or otherwise) is worth it! Bathrooms need better cleaning and maintenance. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, and lots of parking.

I stopped by L&L Hawaiian BBQ in Mountain View for a quick meal. The atmosphere was casual and clean, but nothing special. Better for takeout as most folks are doing that. Interior looks bland. L&L Hawaiian BBQ is an okay option for Hawaiian-inspired BBQ. While the food was tasty, the prices felt slightly steep. If you're in the area and craving Kalua pig or Katsu, it's worth a try. Pricing is decent for the area and get full from the meal.

Half and half: garlic basa and katsu

The L&L on El Camino isn't as friendly, and their katsu is dry. THIS L&L, HOWEVER, IS THE OPPOSITE! Workers are friendly, katsu is always juicy--never had a dry or thin katsu here before. They don't skimp on rice or mac salad, either. I didn't know you could do a half & half until today, so I ordered half garlic basa, half katsu. Again, they really don't skimp on portions! Best comfort food ever.

This L&L is amazing. I've been here three times so far and have yet to be disappointed. My go-to order is the chicken katsu. It is always perfectly cooked and they give so much chicken that I eat it as two separate meals. I also pick up a couple spam musubi and bring them with me to Shoreline Amphitheatre as a snack during concerts. The staff is friendly, food is prepared quickly, the restroom is clean, and there's plenty of parking. Not much more you can ask for.

Going by this one item we headed off for lunch! Apparently a lot of others had the same idea. As this place was busy! We drove over, found it easy, parked in one of 3 of their last spots and got in line. Line of 6 moved like a flash. Friendly staff took our order. While we watched a man pull apart lovely looking meat in back. I couldn't stop at brisket tacos, I also ordered Mac and cheese and a peach cheesecake pie slice! My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach! You get two tacos, on the most amazing tasting, fluffy flour tortillas. The meat is piled high! I got full off the pile of meat before I got to my tacos. I'm not a big meat person, so when I say the brisket was out of this world I mean it. It had the perfect fat to meat ratio (which for me is not a lot of fat) to go box please! Desert to go, latter eaten and it was so good! My new go to BBQ place! Yummy yummy!

The brisket was some of the best I've had in the Bay Area while the mac n cheese was super creamy. That visit was 5 stars but that was back in 2024. This latest experience was some of the worst brisket I've had in the Bay Area and would be rated 2 stars. The brisket was dry, chewy, and sliced in the wrong direction (with the grain instead of against the grain). I also tried the pork ribs - meh and the Dino ribs - tender but very fatty instead of juicy and seasoning seemed to be just salt - a lot of salt. The sides of brussels and kale slaw were also just fine. There was way too much vinegar on the kale slaw. There was live music but the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk much less think and we were sitting pretty far away. While I enjoy live music, it would be great if there were parts of the restaurant that was quieter for those looking to talk to their friends or who don't enjoy the specific band that evening. Bartender was a cool dude and staff in general are nice.

He was super attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect for us. The food was honestly incredible. It's hard to even pick favorites because literally everything was so good, but if I had to choose, the mac and cheese, cornbread, and ribs definitely stood out. The ribs were suuuuper juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. I'm really picky about mac and cheese, but theirs was SO good -- creamy, flavorful, and with chunks of meat mixed in that made it even better. The cornbread was moist with the perfect amount of sweetness. And the BBQ sauces?? So dang good that I ended up buying two bottles to take home with me. Overall such a great experience all around between the food and the service. Will definitely be coming back again!

I ordered one of their meal packages, plus some extras on the things we needed more of. the meal package was supposed to include 2 types of bbq sauce plus ranch for the wings. they didn't give us any of the bbq sauces or the ranch. considering they charge $5 each for sides of sauces, that's $15 they shorted me. so we had dry chicken wings with nothing to dip them in... which means nobody wanted to eat them. there's another $25 I was out. we ended up having to use the bottled sauces that I bought as a gift... another $20 gone. pulled pork was fine. the brisket was pretty tough. my dad usually loves leftovers and didn't want to keep any of it... so that said a lot about the meal all by itself. the positives (?): cornbread was pretty good. wolf turds were good (though crazy expensive for what they are - only 2 come in an order for over $10). mac and cheese was good, though it has far less meat than it used to. all in all, not a positive experience. seems like they've really gone downhill. if you order to go, check your order carefully before you leave. they had everything ready when I got there and had tied the bags shut (double knotted), so it would have been hard to get them open. do yourself a favor tho and take the time to open each bag. it sucks to get all the way home and find key items were left out.
