It is Panda Express, so my expectations are about as high as other fast food joints. It was relatively late, and I knew the pickings would be slim (they were). I ordered a couple of the least empty, most appetizing looking dishes and got it To-Go. The guy who dished up my food was polite, but I had a pretty straight forward transaction so it would be routine. The food was ok, the Sriracha shrimp wasn't bad (I added more Sriracha) and the Sweetfire chicken was just ok (flavor didn't jump out at me). The veggies side looked sad, droopy but oh well. The place seemed in decent shape, and people seemed busy in the kitchen, nothing much else to say since it was a to-go order. It was just "ok" I have had a couple decent meals from here, not bad for a pick-up and go kind of situation. There are far better Chinese food places elsewhere, if you've the time. read more

My husband went there to pick up dinner for us I was told he had to order it online although he was standing right in front of the food.!They did not know how to work the register. UPDATE: I revisited here several times, and I wanted to make a comment that they kept their quality control pretty on point. If you want some fast-food Chinese, this place won't disappoint. I usually get a plate of half fried rice and half chow mein. Of course, I get their famous Orange Chicken. Their walnut shrimp is pretty good, too. I don't like to complain, but the service at this panda express was not good. The food was very nice but the server was rude and had an attitude. Through the whole serving time she acted as though she would've rather been somewhere else. After paying for my order I went to take the bag out of her hand and she just dropped it at me and it spilled. There was no sorry, I just had to clean up my stuff and walk off. It's Panda Express so I never have any high expectations. However, I must say, their food looks a lot more appealing than any other Chinese restaurant around or in SLO. I had the orange chicken and green beans with chicken. Eat were perfect for what it was. The green beans were still crispy and not mushy and the orange chicken was fresh and crispy as we got there when a new batch was put out. I think people judge it for what it's not. Awful service, they don't care about online orders at all. Order was done 20 minutes after it was supposed to be ready with almost no customers in the restaurant. Never ordering from this location again. The cashier was extremely rude and when I stepped back inside to see how my order was going, he simply and sternly told me to wait outside without seeing what I needed and made me wait outside with no idea of how long my order would take. It's not that difficult to manage your time well and make sure that you get the online orders completed at the same frequency as in person orders. Usually has great customer service every time but today they told me to wait for bejing beef which is perfectly fine with me, what I didn't like is they gave my food to someone else then didn't ask me what I was waiting for until they had helped 10 separate customers. When I arrived only one guy was working as the other was sitting on the side eating and the one cooking was texting. The only guy working was nice/patient with the family in front of me whom was taking forever and coaching him to put oversized potions on their plates, but by the time he got to me he was no longer friendly and gave half scoops of the sides. My boyfriend went back in politely pointing out that there wasn't much of sides and the other worker that was eating "helped him" but was talking crap under his breath. Got there at seven minutes after 8 PM. Saw that there was a lot of near empty pans and asked when they were going to be bringing out some fresh food. Server irritatingly told me no more food. We don't make any food after 8 o'clock. She said we have already cleaned the grill. This is all you can have. I picked a couple of items for the two dinners I was getting. She scraped the remnants of one pan to make a serving of my selection. I would've been better to leave at that time because it was awful and tasted like it had been in a food pan all day. They were going to close the doors in a matter of minutes and had a line of people out the door waiting to get food. What kind of business model is this that closes a popular fast food restaurant like Panda Express at 8:30 on Friday night. I got to the register and got the same line. I added a couple of drinks to the order, and she handed me my cups, and then said "our ice machine doesn't work, so there is no ice" for anyone's drinks. I felt like I was at a film segment of the movie "Waiting" with Ryan Reynolds, Anna Farris and Justin Long... Clearly, nobody cared and their attitudes all showed it. They offered to prepare the missing dishes in a tone of voice making it obvious they would rather not, and saying I'd have to wait ten minutes to be served. I know this is typical of most Chinese places, but even with this expectation the food still is not the greatest (soggy and cold). The line was nearly out the door and only one person plating food seems odd. bathroom was almost out of toilet paper and had soap on the floor. The staff were nice. Horrible service! I went there for dinner, and they were out of orange chicken. I wanted 4 orders of it, and the worker (Cambria) was very annoyed that I wouldn't pick something else. She just wanted to ring me up, and I had to keep telling her that there were additional items that I wanted to order. I had to ask twice for the soda cups, and of course the lids were out. When I asked about the lids, she rolled her eyes at me, and then pulled some out of a closed cabinet (as if I was supposed to go digging for them). I will never go there again. read more

I'm honestly in shock about my experience at this panda. I'm paying and they are boxing up My food when the employees inform me they only have 1 lid and I have two containers. They actually sent me off with my Togo order without a lid on the plate. That's a lot of food to just be free in the bag. Do you not have other to go containers? Smaller and split my plate up maybe? Saran wrap? Seriously, it took all your employees"searching" the building to decide you just don't have lid's or a solution and there is nothing that can be done for me. She actually said "gee I wish we could do something for you." Then I get home, the chow mein is burnt, the smell and taste of burned oil made it completely inedible. If I lived closer and hadn't been at work all day myself I would have brought this back and let them know what a terrible job they are doing. What a joke, and in a town with a lot of food competition. They still had 2 hours left open, wonder if they came up with a solution or just all continued standing around scratching their heads. Both our dinners, short of a couple bites where thrown out, really sad I wasted money on this terrible meal. Went in for lunch today, had Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, and wanted Mandarin Chicken which was being made. I was told the Mandarin Chicken would be brought out to me and I love eating it with the Chow Mein so I set that aside. 16 minutes later, still no Mandarin Chicken and a cold plate of Chow Mein. Awful! The worst Panda Express I've ever been to. The gentleman who helped us was nice and offered us samples, but the food was terrible. We chose to eat here because of the lack of Chinese restaurants in the area, and all the other Panda Express restaurants we've been to all over SoCal and NorCal have been great. I ordered a plate with fried rice, and the fried rice was really undercooked. It was also tasteless. My husband ordered a plate with chow mein, and his chow mein was slightly undercooked and covered in too much cabbage. It even had a cabbage core! We also asked if they have Beijing Beef, and the employee who was helping us just said no. At the other Pandas we've visited, if an entree plate was empty, there is usually someone in the back cooking it and they would tell us the wait time, but nope, not here.
