    Inconsistent portions

I was genuinely happy when I heard we were getting a Panda Express here in Sonoma. My overall experience with this chain has been a positive one. The handful of times I have been to this location haven't been.... The first time, the portions weren't what I was expecting. No biggie. New location, new employees, i figured they were just finding their legs. The second time, the portions were better but I ordered Teriyaki chicken... They forgot to put the teriyaki in the bag...so i had grilled chicken instead. The third time, they were out of almost everything, and I waited for over a half hour for them to have something I could eat (shellfish allergies). And the chow mein was just a few scoops of dried noodles that was left in the pot... I'm not sure why I wanted to try a fourth time but i did.. Again, lousy portions and no teriyaki.. I won't be going in there again.

Rudy are right next to Lucky and I made an opportunistic stop to pick up some food since I have not been to a PE in a while. Something about their chow mein and cream cheese rangoon...I just never tire of it. They were open and I was able to go in and order which was surprising given the SIP.

This brand new Panda Express just opened in Sonoma on the Westside of town, and is offering the usual menu that patrons can find at any of the existing Panda Express locations. My household and I decided to try it and take advantage of the coupons we received in the mail. We had the broccoli beef, chicken chow mein, fried rice and Kung Pao dish. All of the entrees we ordered we enjoyed. The only thing we were disappointed in were the pot stickers and the spring rolls. They were less than average. Still we are happy to have some Asian style food in a town that has very little to offer with regards to various ethnic foods. This place is brand new and it no doubt will take some time for it to get settled. We will go back again as it is a good spot to grab some delicious and perhaps more nutritious "fast food" once in a while, that's much better than McDonald's and we found more economical too. It's a real meal deal here.

Missing 1/3 of food... and they didn't notice?

Don't bother ordering online as it won't be right and when you call they don't give a crap. They give you the " there's nothing I can do my manager comes back tomorrow". So helpful. They use DoorDash as delivery and charge ridiculous amounts as well. Better places to order food from that actually appreciate your business.

So we finally did it. We planned our entire day around a meal. No spontaneity. Just commitment, a full tank of gas, and moderately managed expectations. The verdict? The food is genuinely tasty, the service is warm and friendly, and the outdoor seating is generous enough that you don't feel like you're eating on top of strangers. All good things. Now, about the bathroom situation. To reach it, you must walk through the kitchen. Yes, the kitchen. The actual working kitchen, where people are actively cooking your food. It feels a little like being a contestant on a show you didn't audition for -- part awkward intruder, part curious food tourist. On the upside, you get a front-row peek at how everything is made, which is either charming or anxiety-inducing depending on how much you like to know about your food before it arrives. We chose charming. Was it worth the drive? Yeah, it was.

What an exceptional discovery for authentic Mexican cuisine. This unassuming roadside restaurant,…read moreoffering dining exclusively outdoors, delivers the kind of culinary experience that reminds you why some of the best food is often found in the most unexpected places. The dining concept is refreshingly casual yet incredibly efficient. Guests place their order at the counter before making their way to the outdoor picnic seating area tucked behind the restaurant. The staff then delivers the food directly to the table, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly complements the rustic roadside setting. The menu itself is intentionally concise, which immediately signals a kitchen focused more on execution and quality than excess. It also appeared to feature a rotating seasonal selection, and with the beginning of summer came a fresh seasonal menu showcasing vibrant and authentic flavors of summer. We decided on the beef tacos, and they were truly outstanding. I wish I could remember what type of beef they were. The plate arrived simply presented with three street-style tacos accompanied by fresh lime wedges and crisp radish slices. While minimal in appearance, the flavors were anything but simple. The corn tortillas were among the best I have experienced, lightly crisped, with a delicate texture and subtle depth of flavor that elevated the entire dish. The beef was exceptionally tender, moist, and perfectly seasoned without overpowering the natural richness of the meat. Finished with diced white onions, fresh cilantro, and a vibrant green salsa, every component felt thoughtfully balanced. With a squeeze of lime over the top, the first bite delivered that rare and memorable reaction every food enthusiast hopes for, an immediate "wow" moment. What makes this restaurant particularly impressive is its authenticity and restraint. Rather than trying to do everything, it focuses on doing a select number of dishes extraordinarily well. That dedication to quality is clearly reflected in the numerous accolades displayed throughout the property, including multiple years of Michelin recognition. Who would expect that one of the most memorable Mexican dining experiences in the region would be found at a humble roadside establishment in Sonoma? For anyone visiting the area, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit destination. I look forward to returning soon to further explore the menu and experience more of what this remarkable culinary gem has to offer.

I've visited several times and have sampled different items on the menu, and nothing really has stood out to me to the fact that I want to return. If you are next door at Olde House, this is a convenience as they will deliver directly to you inside. Portion wise, it's a good amount, so no complaints on that front and the service is pretty good. Being a strip mall Mexican restaurant, nothing to rave about in terms of ambiance, but I am totally fine with that as it's more so about the food for me. All and all, I' am done with this restaurant as there are much better options nearby.

The burritos were large and the flour tortillas were soft and had an excellent chew. We tried carnitas and al pastor, and both were well seasoned and tasty. The refried beans, rice and homemade guacamole incorporated into the burritos were also excellent quality.
