Celebrated my sister's 30th birthday here this past week. Overall the experience was ok. We were a party of 9 and did the pre-fixe family style meal. A week prior to the dinner, we signed an electronic contract where we were quoted $85 per person. A couple days later when they processed the deposit and sent a receipt we noticed that they referenced $100 per person. When my sister emailed to inquire they confirmed the price for $100 per person. When we went back to the contract we noticed that they updated it from $85 to $100. I find this problematic that they would alter a signed contract without prior authorization from the signee. My sister is more easy going than I am so we didn't make a big deal. A couple days before the dinner, I attempted to call the restaurant to get details about their policy for bringing a cake and balloons. I was never able to get anyone on the phone even when calling during their opening hours. I called about 4 times over the course of 3 days. I left 2 voicemails and even sent a text as I suspected the number may possibly be a cell phone. Here are some key takeaways from our visit: "Valet" parking is available for $40 cash. The catch is, they will go park your car on the street and bring your key back to you in the restaurant. When it's time for you to leave, they do not retreive your car for you, you have to go find it yourself. Hookah is available for $50 cash. The hookah was good. No complaints here. Prior to booking we inquired about options for vegetarian guests in our party since the pre-fixe options were not vegetarian friendly. We were told they would be able to choose items from the a la carte menu. When we brought this up to our server he was confused and admitted he didn't know what to do in this situation. After some back and forth we were able to come to a solution but it was annoying that management had not discussed this with our server prior. Overall the food was ok. The wontons, black pepper shrimp, and filet mignon and broccoli were very tasty. The other items were mediocre. The tables are simply not big/wide enough for family style. We constantly had to shuffle and reorganize dishes to be able to fit everything on the table. The ambiance, decor, and music selection were good although the music was a tad loud and made it difficult to have any table conversations. Our 3-course meal was supposed to include dessert but we were never served any. Our check was brought out after the main course was finished. We didn't realize until later after we left. My sister emailed Panda and they claimed they had brought dessert out and that our guests took them to go. LOL incorrect. I see in some other reviews that dessert had not been served to others as well. Majority of the staff we came in contact with were very friendly. All in all, I likely will not be back unless it's for another bday party that I have no say in choosing the restaurant. read more

Previously a a lounge in Harlem, Harlem Panda has turned this industrial space into a new modern Chinese restaurant. It is easily accessed with the 1 train line nearby and a few buses near by. It was only their third day opened when we visited so it was easy to make a reservation online and be seated quickly. I thought the service hear was pretty stellar, the server checked in on us regularly, the manager came by to ask us how everything was going and the food and drinks were pretty tasty. My favorite drink of the night was the Dragonfruit Mojito, it was fruity and STRONG, can't go wrong with that. The Passion Fruit martini was also a hit. For dinner we ordered a few dishes that are served family styles. We had chicken dumpling, and chicken duck boa buns as an appetizer and let me tell you, the dumplings were filled to the brim, I loved it. The boa buns were so fluffy. Def two great starters to get the meal going. We also ordered chicken & broccoli, Beijing chicken, beef friend rice and vegetable lo mein. All very delicious but my favorite part of the meal was the vegetable lo mein, I could've ordered another serving because the sauce was so flavorful. Stop by and show this new business some love. Over priced Chinese cuisine along with great cocktails (very strong!) and nice vibes. The food was good but you can't really go wrong with typical Chinese cuisine. I probably would only get drinks and appetizers if I do go back. The restaurant has a nice decor and staff is very welcoming. Our waiter was knowledgeable as well as good with suggestions. The food was good and hot upon arrival. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and they came out with a birthday sign, sparkling candle and nice size red velvet cake. It was delicious. The DJ was also very good. My only quirk was, we are not smokers and we were next to a table that had ordered the hookah. Although, the vent pulled most of the smoke up, we would still get some of the initial smoke. Actually YOU are mistaken. After waiting an incredibly long time, your staff reviewed the cameras and our money was returned. So yes, the birthday celebration was ruined by a person you continue to employ soooooo.....dont lie or sugar coat. Ya boy fucked up the party of a $500 meal by trying to pocket $50. And its not the money, its the principle. Plain disrespectful. Your employee is a reflection of your business. Do better. He assummed we had much more to drink than we actually had. This was my first time here and probably/maybe not my last lol. My cousins and I came for brunch and the place is a vibe. It is Chinese cuisine and delicious. I don't how how the regular menu is but for brunch Thales serve everything family style. The apps came out first with our drinks and then the main and sides after like 10-15 after the appetizers. Our waiter was Thomas and he was great and informative. I had the Rum & Sugars Punch that just hit the spot and quenched the thirst. I originally thought you pick what you wanted to eat off the menu but everything is in the brunch price. Our drinks were separate because we didn't do the bottomless. The only thing I didn't like was all the additional fees. They have 5% admin fee (never heard of) and a customer disc fee (also never heard of). There was a $40 difference between paying cash and card but other then this I can see myself coming back, don't know how soon but I see myself back here. Visited Panda Harlem on a Tuesday around 9 pm with a friend for casual hang out. There were about 2 other parties there at the time, the place didn't get a little more crowded until 10pm. Very spacious. For appetizers we had the rock shrimp and pork dumplings. The rock shrimp was great. The pork in the dumplings didn't taste good. For entrees I had the salmon and vegetable fried rice. The salmon was over cooked, the rice was okay. They do have hookah also, $50 cash. Wait staff was very attentive. Almost too attentive actually they were so quick to clear the table they took my rock shrimp before I was done after multiple times of saying I was still working on it. I have a friend who went on a different occasion and she had the same experience. The lychee martini was good. Overall, it's a good one stop shop for food, hookah and vibes. Went to Panda Harlem on Mother's Day for dinner. Went there with my family. Had a great time. The staff were very helpful. I let them know of my food allergies. The appetizers were dim sum dumplings and crab cakes. Delicious I ate Sweet n Sour Chicken with Vegetable fried rice. My hubby had Salmon and fried rice. My daughter had steak and fried rice. The steak was so tender and delish. Her friend had shrimps and lo mien. All the dishes were delicious. The waiter Henry was helpful and friendly. Panda is IT. I came here with a group of friends for the first time and it was such a great experience from start to finish. We were received by outstanding hospitality from the Ast. manager, Hannah. She was very knowledgeable about the restaurant, extremely accommodating and above everything just a sweet, beautiful spirit! We got some strong, delicious and refreshing drinks made by Arielle and our waiter, Alex was so attentive and sweet. We shared a couple of plates that were all delicious; shrimp was so fresh and both chicken plates were chef's kiss. The star plate of the night was the vegetable spring roll. We had the bokchoy with sweet and sour chicken and 4 margaritas. The bill came up to $160 for two people. They automatically add gratuity. It's suitable for a group party, date or just a drink with a friend to watch football. 1. Bouncer is courteous & friendly. 2. Decor is 100% true to Harlem neighborhood & Hip Hop lovers. 3. Live DJ on set made for great vibe with Hip Hop, Reggae, Reggaeton, Bachata, Salsa & Merengue music playing over a decent audio system that had females dancing nonstop by the bar area. 4. The patrons are mainly single females outnumbering men 8 to 1 & groups celebrating milestones together. 5. Came here last Saturday night for dinner with a friend. Ambience, decor, music, and vibes are fun, lively, and trendy. To eat we got the chicken bao buns - I don't eat pork or beef so I've never gotten to have bao buns before and these were so good! We also got the sweet and sour jumbo prawns and chicken lo mein. Everything was good - standard. For drinks I got the passion fruit martini and dragonfruit mojito - both were yummy and well-made. Overall I'd say this is a standard fun trendy restaurant where you go for good food and drinks (not amazing per se) with fun energy. The main downsides were that they apparently charge a service fee when you use credit card with a discount if you use cash, which had we known we would have brought cash! The service was great. Our waiter catered to our every need and was very attentive throughout our entire time at the establishment. The front desk host was also great, she was able to accommodate me with changing my reservation time and made everything extremely seamless. The ambiance of the restaurant was great, I loved all of the NYC style graffiti and all of the little pieces placed around. Great for photo opps! The music was amazing! Definitely put everyone in a great mood with that awesome feel good music! The food was a bit subpar. I had the crab cakes and shrimp dumplings for appetizer and they looked aesthetically pleasing but there was no real flavor in either dish. I had the salmon and pork fried rice for my entree and the sauce for the salmon was perfect but the piece of salmon had a very fishy taste(if you eat salmon often, you know the difference between a fresh caught salmon and something not so fresh. The rice was good, and the serving size was great. I also had the vegetable noodles, they were great! The drinks were spectacular! Strong and got the job done! I had Don Julio classic margaritas with Tajin on the rim and they were made to perfection! I would love to come back to Panda! It's still a new establishment so I'm sure they are working all of the little quirks out, and so far they are doing well! read more

Panda, panda, panda... Now try not to sing the song lol. I really, really, really wanted to like this place. I really did but the prices do not translate to the quality of the food. I went to Panda about a little bit over a month ago after being excited about its opening based off of all the social media promo I'd be seeing. I had very high hopes as I had been a patron of former establishments in this space (Solomon & Kuff being one of them), and I know just how dynamic the space is. The two stars I'm giving is because the decor is pretty nice and the service was good - our waitress was very patient and attentive. Now, let's get to the not so good. The drinks were ok... they spanned from overly sweet - Passion Fruit Martini - to overly strong without a proper balance - Lychee Martini. The food left a lot to be desired. The menu isn't very varied itself, so I decided to stick with what I thought was a safe dish - sweet and sour chicken. The chicken I felt could've been cooked a little longer and the sauce I felt was overly sweet. It just did not have a good taste. The salt & pepper shrimp was decent but there was nothing really to it, and the dumplings were also lackluster. Overall, the meal itself, with the automatic gratuity included might I add, was really lackluster and yet we were being charged Philippe Chow prices. Next time, believe me, I will go to Philippe's. The flavor isn't missing there. I really do want this place to work out, so I do sincerely hope their menu gets stronger and their dishes and drinks get the tweaking they deserve. read more

They tried...but no. I really wanted to like this place and reviews were good so gave it a go. This place is for a young patron/crowd, who is there for the vibe and for a photo op. It's for someone who is more consumed with their social media profile than the flavor profile. It's not for me. And speaking of vibe I didn't catch it. Music was 90s hip hop, but how many Nelly songs can one listen to? The playlist was my Saturday house cleaning music, at best, not Friday night energy. I could see how the space could be elevated but it didn't hit the mark for me. The blue velvet bar stools were a nice touch and comfortable but a few were missing the piece your foot rests on, so you ended up dangling from the stool like a child. My girlfriend switched her stool out for another at an empty table. Fast forward- The prices of the food and the quality is not worth it. Everything I had was smothered heavily in what I would describe as an MSG mess of flavor. For a starter we had the shrimp lettuce wrap. The shrimp came diced up in a bowl with onions and some peppers in a very sweet brown sauce, which sat on top of a long platter. The portion size was enough for 2 people to enjoy and it came out piping hot, which I appreciated. Next to the bowl was a half head of iceberg lettuce. Ice berg lettuce is not a wrap-able lettuce - period! A more fitting lettuce choice would be a Boston lettuce and for the price of this dish, that is what it should have came with. Next came the peppered beef dish and my girlfriend got the salmon. Both were smothered in what tasted like the very same sweet brown sauce the shrimp was in. Smothered! I love me a Chinese brown sauce like the next man but you cannot just smother that sauce on your choice of meat and charge $34 for the plate, especially when it comes with nothing but the meat. Since it was an a la carte situation, we got a side of broccoli to split. Broccoli was good. It was very garlicky, but I like garlic and love my veggies. For drinks my girlfriend got their margarita and I got the passion fruit martini. Would put money that the martini had no liquor in it. All I tasted was sugar. Margarita was decent. Bill was 175. Gratuity was included. There are plenty of bathrooms but they were not clean, with pee all over the seat and toilet paper holder broken. Trashy! If we are doing upscale prices then let's do upscale bathrooms. Service wasn't anything extraordinary for the price either. The waiter didn't know answers to any of the questions. We asked if there were peanuts in shrimp lettuce wrap dish and he didn't know, we asked if the salmon could be cooked medium and he said he wasn't sure if we could do that so he had to ask the chef, we asked him to split the bill between two cards and he failed at that. Also when he was clearing the table he took what was left of my sugar martini-perhaps the liquor was in the bottom but guess we will never know. Checked that one off the list. First to begin, I never been to a restaurant and the waitress is right there to clean up instantly. Second, I love the attentive the servers have to guest. They not hovering over you but also not to far away to assist you. Lastly s/o to Hasim!! He was amazing, attentive, available, didn't have to look for him. The Customer Service was not great. I called to place a Take Out order and the young lady who answered the phone stated they did not take orders over the phone, that I had to come in and order in person. Odd! I was able to order via Uber Eats, the food was ready very quickly. When I went in to pick it up, the set was odd had to go around on the line of people who were waiting to be seated, there was no easy access for pick up orders. When I arrived there were several take orders waiting which means that you can order and pick up without being there in person. The crowd also seemed super young. I ordered the spring rolls, chicken satay and lobster fried rice. The spring rolls weren't the greatest, had a particular taste that I've never tasted in spring rolls. The Chicken Satay looked good and were well cooked, the peanut sauce was excellent. The Lobster fried rice was tasty and had a fair amount of lobster.
