Had lunch here, at a table by the window. You place your order at the counter, and they bring it to your table. We had pork egg foo yung with the "plain" fried rice. The gravy was good, could have used another ladle full tho. The egg foo had plenty of pork , bean sprouts and other oriental veges. It was good snd the patties were a good size. Since there aren't many places to eat at in Hayward that weren't fast-food . Here was my place of choice. I ended up getting the Honey Chicken Chunks of deep fried chicken w. broccoli in honey sauce. I also got an order of Cream Cheese Wontons. This was a to go order since they were about to close. The Honey Chicken was pretty good. The Wontons on the other hand were delicious. Ordered takeout beef fried rice for $16 which came in a 4" high carton. There was next to no beef and a few peas. Flavor was okay but way overpriced. Won't be ordering from this place again. The beef and scallops was AMAZING! I have never had scallops this good, and I eat alot of scallops. My wife had the chicken cashew and all of the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The front desk woman was wearing a mask but you can see straight into the kitchen where they're clearly violating basic health guidelines (and that's *outside* of a pandemic. In the kitchen you can see them touching food with no gloves on, then touching other foods still with no gloves and not washing hands between to avoid cross contamination for those with allergies.. or basic germ standards? Disappointing! I ordered the special and the side veg was stuck into the entree but was completely frozen. When I mentioned to the hostess/waitress, she told me it was meant to be that way. (lol what?) I waited for another five minutes to get the bowl of white rice that came with the special - by which time the frozen veg had cooled the rest of my dish. Passed through Hayward after a camping trip and didn't have a lot of options for food. We were all famished and saw Panda House. We thought to ourselves, how bad can it be? It is bad. The mixed vegetable dish was so bland that the rice was the most exciting part. The "spicy" bean curd and vegetable was a much better dish but not spicy by any means. The chow mein was not even chow mein. The noodles were the wrong kind and were not prepared the right way. For some reason they served it with rice as well. The service was non-existent and the atmosphere is very Americana Chinese. They play elevator music and it made me need a nap. Pretty bad quality all around and I certainly don't recommend it. Sesame chicken was over sauced and over cooked the broccoli side was cold when delivered to our table . Happy Family was ok but where was the beef and crabmeat ? Not very happy ! Wonton soup base was tasteless and the wontons were not good tasting. And no crispy noodles came with the soup . My husband threw it out. Yuck !!! And No fortune cookies were offered. I'm a big Chinese food fan, and they always do a great job with my favorites like beef w/ broccoli and cashew chicken, and the lunch specials are a great price for just the right amount of food. Wow, this has to be the worst food in town. Hands down. Although they've been open here for about two years now, it was my first try as I just moved and was only in town briefly. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, a basic staple, and an egg roll to go, to see if I had been wrong to not venture in those two previous years. The attendant was friendly and helpful, and suggested that the one dish would be plenty when I asked about portion sizes. In hindsight, she could not have been more right. The food came out in about 10 minutes, and was not too pricey. When I got home, the food was still hot. The contents of my bag included a small side of rice, typical, the egg roll, which was not too bad, but not too good, and the obligatory fortune cookie. The sweet and sour chicken, however, consisted of a tub of what looked like chicken nuggets and a tub of sauce. I dumped out the chicken nuggets to find exactly 3 pieces of green pepper, 4 pieces of onion, and one piece of carrot, all raw, resting neatly on the bottom, just above the grease. It was horrible! I really shouldn't have eaten it but I was starving. Hours later though, my stomach still isn't the same. Next time, I'll wait the extra ten minutes or so for a better meal a few doors down at a much better oriental restaurant. read more

Great food! I love coming here, the food has good flavor and is cooked the way I like. The atmosphere is great, I feel comfortable in the restaurant when I dine in. They always get the food out in a timely manner. So compliments to the chefs. But my favorite part about eating at this restaurant is the hospitality I get. I like this food my main problem was why do they sell pu pu platter I can just look in the pu pu pot and eat pu pu for free. The food was really good and worth it. #justice4pupu Food is pretty good. Self service counter ordering and no flame with the PUPU platter is just a sampler platter of appetizers. And their "tea" is a carafe of hot water and they hand you a teabag. I love this place! I've never had anything bad from here, portions and huge and the people are friendly. Seasame chicken is amazing and I usually get that all the time, the beef lo mein is great lots if beef and steamed veggies. Plus it makes no sense that the "lunch menu" is a lot cheaper than the "dinner menu" even though they are exactly the same. Figure that one out. Interesting that this place got poor reviews. Tried this place on a Friday night and it was not busy at all. The menu had quite a few selections. We tried the following: Egg roll, good but nothing special. Chicken Fried Rice - Big portion, very large pieces of chicken in it which you usually don't see, seemed to have more flavor than your usual fried rice, lots of soy sauce I think. Kung Pao Chicken - This was a little disappointing, it wasn't spicy at all like Kung Pao usually is, and to me it didn't really taste like Kung Pao chicken I've had at other places, not very flavorful, kind of bland. Triple Mongolian - this was Mongolian chicken, shrimp, and beef, and unlike the Kung Pao it was VERY flavorful, the shrimp were big, the beef and chicken were good quality. We have eaten here a few times, and it's always great! Good food, good portions, clean and VERY friendly staff. Today I had the Garlic Scallops, with mushrooms, onions and water chestnuts, and we had a side of wontons and crab rangoon. We had enough to eat the leftovers tomorrow. I visited this place with my wife and her 2 girls for the first time while on vacation in Hayward. I'm from Minneapolis where there are quite the selection of Chinese restaurants and I've visited many of them. My wife refuses to broadened her horizon past sweet and sour chicken but her girls age 8 and 11 thankfully are open to trying different foods and restaurants. The chicken fried rice and chicken lo mein was some of the best I've had in a long time and both the girls want to go back next time we are in Hayward. The fried rice wasn't greasy or too dry. IMO it was just right. I don't normally eat lo mein but that's what the girls wanted and I'm glad I ordered it to share. Very flavorful and the girls loved it. The food must've gotten better in the past few years. My expectations were of franchise food as well, if it is it tasted much better than the franchise Chinese food in Minneapolis so I have to give it some credit for being authentic. I've never had scallions in my cream cheese puffs, I'm not a fan of scallions so I wished at least the cream cheese puffs were like franchise cream cheese puffs.
