Thanks to recommendations from neighbors and Yelp reviews we found a great dine-in Chinese restaurant. We made a reservation for a Saturday night and the place was busy. The host was warm and friendly. We were seated right away, and they seemed to be seating people who were waiting very quickly. We got a nice booth in one of the quieter rooms. Our server greeted us immediately and gave us a minute to look over the menu. Hubby and I each ordered a cocktail and they were served quite quickly. Maybe not the best Mai tai I have ever had, but it was good and my hubby really liked his, but I don't remember what it was called. The food. We started with eggs rolls which were really good. Tender veggies on the inside and a light and crispy outside. For dinner we had chicken fried rice (tasty and large pieces of tender white meat chicken), the special kon Pao with beef, chicken and shrimp (very tasty with just a little spice over all, unless you eat the peppers like my hubby), and we got the honey walnut shrimp (shrimp was cooked perfectly, tender with just a touch of crispness, and a light sauce that gave just the right amount of sweetness. Panda Inn in La Palma has been my favorite for many years. Fantastic choices, great servers and food is always spot on. Dined here with a big party three times so far within the past few months, and the food and service was always great. Food -- - Spicy Eggplant & Tofu was surprisingly one of the most favored dishes by many people in our group. The eggplant is soft, the tofu has a nice bite to it, and the flavor is delicious. - Panda Beef sounded like it'd be the most interesting and safest out all the beef dishes. It tasted great. Everyone in our party enjoyed it. - Orange Chicken is typically a good and safe option. Can't go wrong with it. - Honey Walnut Shrimp is another good and safe option (assuming you like shrimp). It's usually the most popular, and it was another favorite that was consistently the first dish to be finished out of the others. - Chow Fun is such a simple noodle dish yet always so delicious. Everyone loved it every time. - Pan Fried Noodles was a good dish to try during our first visit. The sauce was somewhat lacking in flavor when we had it, so it needed some soy sauce or anything to enhance the flavor. We never tried ordering it again after that visit, but it was still enjoyable overall. Service -- Our first dining experience was when we made a reservation for 30 people at 11:30am to celebrate an occasion. They were able to accommodate us in the room towards the back. They didn't allow us to close the dividers at all, but the walls at least still provided some seclusion. Since we had preordered the food in advanced, everything came out quickly while still hot and fresh. Drinks were refilled as needed and things were provided when requested. Service was great overall. Ambience -- I've passed by this place numerous times, but never thought to eat here until recently. After only seeing it from the outside for so many years, the inside looked bigger than I thought lol. The restaurant has a unique layout, and the interior is nice and clean. read more

My family and I came here for my cousins graduation party. There was about 20 of us. We came on a Saturday around noon and they accommodated us with no issue. We didn't sit at one large table, but they used multiple tables around each other and it still worked out great. The service was amazing, the food was delicious. An elevated panda experience! The honey Walnut Shrimp and phoenix chicken really does give a lot of those panda flavors but with less breading which is a great thing. Came here for Mother's Day, thank God we made reservations online because this place was packed! They sat us down as soon as we arrived. Despite being busy we were able to get our food fairly quickly and man was it delicious. We ordered the orange chicken, fried rice combination, Mongolian beef, kung Pao chicken, and garlic noodles. All came out amazing, to a surprise the orange chicken came out spicier compared to the kung Pao but was no issue for us. First time here at Panda Inn for dinner. The ambiance inside was very nice and had very traditional Asian vibes. We were promptly seated and attended to by their staff, who were very friendly and came by often to make sure things were okay. We ordered the panda beef and crispy noodle as our entrees. They were both exceptional. The panda beef was nice and crispy, which I hope for when ordering orange beef. The noodle was very crispy and not stale, and the savory vegetable and chicken toppings were seasoned just right and was not over salted. Their menu had a lot of selections, too much for one sitting but is enticing to make me come back again to try other dishes. Overall, this place is definitely legit for cozy Asian dinner spot and I will return soon. read more

Came here for a big family dinner with 24 people including about baby and 3 kids. They were able seat us at 2 large tables in a back room where still had plenty of space. The hosts and servers were very attentive, friendly, and mistake free. We ordered sizzling rice soup, orange chicken (mild), Mongolian beef, fish in black bean sauce, combination fried rice, spicy eggplant and tofu, and beef chow fun. Nobody had any complaints about any dish and I felt that everything tasted fresh, full of flavor, and not overly greasy. The fish stood out with nice thick pieces of fish with a light breading so that you could still taste and feel the texture of the fish. I didn't find any of the dishes to be overly spicy considering most had the spicy symbol and the eggplant tofu dish had spicy in its name. I could have enjoyed a bit more spice actually. The orange chicken was nice and crispy rather than soggy as sometimes happens at other restaurants. We also enjoyed the surprising chocolate covered fortune cookie at the end. I was in the area with my son for a medical appointment. We needed to get dinner after and wanted Chinese cuisine. This place looked good and was close by. Prices were kind of high but portions were big. We ordered low-mein with chicken and sweet and sour chicken with a side of white rice and brown rice. I misunderstood the menu and thought the sweet and sour chicken was not breaded. When it arrived at the table I was surprised it was breaded and I explained that I expected it to be not breaded. The server was very nice and explained that it comes breaded but that she could replace it with non-breaded if I'd like her to. I said yes and she happily took care of my request. The replacement dish was out quickly. It was all SO DELICIOUS! THIS IS THE BEST CHINESE FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD. The servers are so nice and the restaurant itself is so pretty and clean. We've loved this restaurant for years!! Food is delicious. However the last few takeout orders have been strange. We ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp and got home to just shrimp and not much sauce. Why would they forget one of the main ingredients?? Was it because we got ot to go? Most recent order was good but the strange thing was fried rice. Ordered it with no meat and there were no veggies, green onions, peas just sad brown rice with very few pieces of egg. Food was great but hopefully next time the dishes arrive as advertised on their menu. Consistency is key for any good restaurant! read more

Lunch Special has a great selection. The servers are very curious and attentive. The place is very clean and the decor is cohesive. I enjoyed my food. I order the spicy trio and a ginger ale. The lunch special gave a choice of hot and sour soup or chicken corn egg drop soup. Everything was delicious. This will be my new hidden gem. Lastly most place give you prepackaged fortune cookies. These cookies were very yummy and quite the surprise. They come foil wrapped and the extra mile of white chocolate dipping is a great touch! I'm please with the all around experience. Not impressed. Went for my wife's birthday and she wanted to try a new place. This was just before a major holiday and wanted to make it special. We were a party of eight. Arrived just before 6:40pm and checked in. Understandably we were told you can wait an hour or you can be seated now but make sure you are out by 7:45. An hour lunch was reasonable for us. So we got seated...had our eye on the clock th whole time.... waiters took our orders and once they brought our food....they stopped checking on us.....then when we finally got one it was 7:35 roughly... asked for water refills, boxes and check.....waitress only brought boxes....went back to ask for check...and they were sending a waitress to kick us out....but we were already getting up to leave....waitress rolled her eyes....just rude staff. But the worst part was the cost....this place is expensive in comparison to far better chinese restaurants.....and quality of food was like panda......such a let down.....there are better restaurants with better food and hospitality in cerritos. read more

I love La Palma. I used to live there. I'm in my late 30's now and I went and had 5th grade there. Panda Inn, La Palma has been around a long time. It is a roomy space for ambiance. Service is always polite and proper. I heard that Panda Inn and Panda Express owners are cousins, which might be very true. I have only ever had lunch at Panda Inn and always beef. You have your choices of beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, fish, vegetables, tofu, as the main entree and it comes with an egg roll, a salad, and the soup of the day. So I recommend the lunch specials because these have kept me historically happy. The beef lunch specials are beef and broccoli, black pepper beef, wok seared Mongolian beef, and basil beef with asparagus. There are also fortune cookies.
