We were at the restaurant Friday 5/23/25 at 5:00 for a reservation for 6 adults plus 2 toddlers. First off they had entered our party as 3 adults and not 6. We got seated and right away 4 of our plates were dirty with an oily like film on them. We ordered our drinks and one person did not get their drink until we asked them 2 or 3 times. We ordered the food and we did not get our rice until everyone had eaten half of the food. We ordered string beens and we never did get those. We spent over $250. Our waiter was awful and 3 of us got food poisonin! Panda has long been a family favorite for celebrations but, I am sorry no more. Been coming here almost 25 years. Every trip to CA must include a visit to this restaurant. The food is delicious and perfectly authentic. Service always with respect and smile. Had 2 guests and up to 22 guests and always served professionally. Will be back again and again. read more

Finally tried this place after years of passing by. The food was very good . We ordered all family sizes since we had a family of 7 , and it would of fed a family of 10. No problem, we had leftovers the next day. Just be mindful of the portions you order. Our waitress was very good and friendly, I wish I would of remembered her name. She told us the history of Panda Inn and how it's one of the original restaurants that started Panda Express. Overall great experience and really good food. I'll start with a positive: the food was delicious as always. The service was awkward and even downright rude. The waiter seemed like he may not be a waiter in real life. He had zero "people skills" or at least chose not to use them with me. I came in knowing I'd order the Upside Down Crispy Noodles with shrimp - my fave! I had just this morning received the email from Panda Inn that I could use a "Mother's Day" credit to get one free entree with the purchase of one entree. Great! But no. Apparently no training was provided to the wait staff or none to the wait staff assigned to me. I realized that despite the wording in the email, Panda's menu is not labeled with "entrees." Rather it is divided into types of main ingredients: "beef," "noodles," "shrimp" and so on. So I immediately upon being seated and glancing over the menu ask the waiter if the upside down crispy noodles with shrimp are included in the Mother's Day special "bogo." He cuts me off mid sentence and says "After! After!" I tell him I want to make sure to use the coupon correctly BEFORE I order. He looks confused and says "Mother's Day I don't know." That was the end of his attempt and he just looked at me to order. I asked him if he would please check before I order and he walked away without another word. He returned after several minutes and said "Yes. Fine." So I ordered the dish along with Panda Beef and he walked away. No "What kind of rice?" or anything they typically asked. I knew he'd not bring the brown rice I wanted but I wasn't willing to chase him down the hall. He seemed super hurried although it was only ten minutes into opening and the entire area I was in was literally empty. I felt like maybe he's a chef/cook and they made him wait on me. I really thought that. He returned with the food and white rice which I politely asked to be switched to brown. The food was excellent as always. One person came once to refill my iced tea and I knew better than to expect anything more. He returned once I was finished eating and asked "Which one do you want to redeem?" WTHeck? Typically an establishment offering bogo will have you pay for the higher priced item and get the lesser free. I've never been asked "Which one?" So awkward! But since he asked I replied "Which one? Well, I suppose I need to know which one costs more?" He said "I don't know." Sigh. I said "Should I look it up on the menu?" He said "Yes" and walked the heck away. Holy cannoli! Dude! I got out my phone, pulled up the app and looked at the prices. The beef was a few dollars more. He returned and said "So which one?" I replied "The beef." He left and came back with the bill and said "I'm sorry it wasn't supposed to include the noodles, just the regular entrees. The noodles were not included in the promotion." At that point I really would have just paid for everything and left because what a crappy happy Mother's Day to me this whole lunch "treat" had been! Ugh! But on the bill the lesser priced noodles had been zeroed out and the promotion applied. I left a less than ten percent tip which is so NOT my usual generous tipping method and wrote "see Yelp review" because I hope they realize the service really ruined my Mother's Day treat. read more

Good Chinese restaurant. We were here for a 50th wedding anniversary. About 90 people I think. They had a big separate room with round tables. Each table had a lazy Susan which made it easy to get to the food. We started off with Chinese Chicken Salad, then Mongolian Beef, Honey Glazed Shrimp with Roasted Walnuts, Beef Chow Mein (meh) and about four other entrees. All served family style. So we stopped in for lunch. My first time here. Kinda looks like they're still under construction inside. Drywall patch spots all over but, no worries, renovations underway. You can order R regular or F family portions. We ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp and Shrimp Lo Mein noodles. Both dishes were great, the HWS was greatly portioned but , the Lo Mein was sadly small. This is the worst and most expensive Chinese restaurant around and the portion they gave us for regular size portion was very small. We ordered lettuce wrap and it only came with 4 lettuce leaves and we asked for more and they were charging us $1 for each leave. It's ridiculously way TOO expensive! We placed an order online on Christmas Eve around 12:00 for a pick up at 4:30pm. We ordered the following: Edamame steamed, both potstickers veggie and pork(which the veggie were well done), Panda Beef(very well done), sweet and sour pork, crispy garlic chicken, chicken fried rice, garlic noodles and chocolate dipped fortune cookies. The sweet and sour pork and the fortune cookies were the best. Everything else was either cold and terrible. Way overpriced. When I arrived the girl stated that my order wasn't read when I arrived on time. I did see the girl bringing more to go orders out and placing them on a table behind them, I waited for awhile and a gentleman started calling out names and I was the first one and he picked up my order that had been sitting there for at least 5-10 minutes. Then he checked the order and stated that the edamame wasn't there so I had to wait longer, it arrived and he checked the bag again it was in the bag all the time. He didn't even offer me the fresh ones and just it's in the bag and you have everything. We were really disappointed with the quality of the food and for the price. read more

It's AMAZING how you can detail an absolutely terrible visit and someone replies with ridiculous, insulting nonsense like this: "Hi Bob, Our team sincerely apologizes that the food did not meet your expectations. I have raised this issue with our team and they will consider making adjustments. We hope you give us another try in the future. Best, Panda Inn Team" Apologies don't cut it, Andrea. You served us crap, then billed for the crap. Your kitchen is having obvious multiple issues, and in our minds, you owe us. It's as simple as that. The Cherngs would be beyond pissed if they knew what was actually going on in this restaurant. Next - My "expectations" are that food isnt served frozen when it comes out, as well as other "expectations" all people have whenever they eat anything, anywhere, at any time. Why on earth would I give Panda Inn another try EVER? Give me one reason. We spent a lot for food that was so off, so bad, (not even defrosted) and you want us to risk spending MORE in the hopes that you'll cook the food, not serve frozen crap, and will somehow be enjoyable - even though Panda Inn has been in this location for a good 30 to 40 years already???
