I came on a Friday night to celebrate a birthday. I walked in and was approached by a man who did Not greet me what so ever but rather nodded his head at me. I told him how many were in my party and he told me that the only available seating is outside and rushed me out. We waited outside in the cold for a few minutes before being helped. I politely asked the same man to please drop the tarp that was rolled up so that I can be a bit warmer to which he replied, No. i asked why. He said because of dust (which made me think why it is not cleaned regularly). He proceeded to close one of the two tarps that was rolled up and sarcastically said, here at least one. It is mid December and cars are rushing by. So it's very very cold. A nice woman came outside to help us, whom I asked to to roll Down the other tarp which she did happily. More people joined outside and I could be over hear their unhappiness with the service. The food was mediocre. The bread was dry and cold. The food I ate was heavily seasoned with nutmeg. A glass of Wine was almost $10. I like to support small businesses but I am not going to support bad service and over priced over seasoned food. The only highlight of the night was a very nice waitress. If you decided to come, make a reservation other wise expect BAD service and a Bad time. read more

I'm not really into going to new places with someone telling me about their experience first but I had a wonderful and delicious dinner with my family of 5. Raphael was a delight. His Italian accent (I'm bad with accents) was perfect for our dining occasion. I had the spare ribs with noodles instead of the fish Or chicken parmigiana. I'm so glad I chose that the rest of the family really enjoyed their meals too. We are going back for sure. Prices were on par for what we got. 5 people / about $200 including adult beverages. The owner needs to know how happy we were and we sent our in laws the following weekend. They enjoyed the fish! See you guys there next time! read more

Makela not only helped with our choices of dishes, but the house Sangiovese she recommended was fruity, lightly dry, and went perfectly with our meal! The meal selections of Italian specialities all tasted great. We also had a chance to meet the owner (Mark) and due to his additional wonderful hospitality, he made our night! We live in the Covina area and always drive by but never stop. Stoped today and so glad we did. Very good hole in the wall Italian restaurant. We had the bow tie (don't remember the name) pasta and prosciutto pizza. Both were very authentic & tasty! The service was quick, we sat at e bar. I was in the area for work and decided to come here based on the reviews. The service and food were wonderful. I had the caprese salad, and the farfalle pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the flavor was awesome. The bread is super fresh - make sure you don't eat it all and save some for dipping into your sauce. What a disappointment this place was for my wife and I, If you're going to charge $15 for a plate of Bolognese the least you could do is make your pasta fresh in house. I asked our server if the pasta was fresh made in house and he said "I'm not going to lie to you its not" even though their website says "made from scratch daily". He did say that their lasagna is fresh made in house and that we actually enjoyed. We also ordered a pizza and while I understand less is more if the quality of the product represents its price point but its pretty obvious that its not the case here. Came here with my daughter when we were doing a college visit. I ordered the Shrimp Fried Mozzarella, my daughter ordered the Farfalle. The grilled shrimp were great. As for the fried mozzarella, I'm sure it came out of a box in the freezer, because it was cold in the center. Not cooked all the way. My daughters Farfalle was very tasty. The atmosphere was ok, you could tell there were a lot of locals or friends of the business. They kept coming in and out getting drinks. Came here on a Saturday night and we were seated before the door behind us even closed. The restaurant itself is very clean and well-lit, intimate enough without being crowded amongst other guests. The menu is impressive- you can find most of the classic Italian staples on there but also try something you haven't had before. The lasagna bolognese was superb and the portions were perfect. The burrata was delicious in a way I've never experienced before. The man of the night was Paul, our server, who brought such a wonderful energy and laughter to the table on top of amazing service. I have been coming to Pane E Vino since it opened. I have always referred to this restaurant as Covina's best little kept secret! Authentic Italian food and ambience to boot! When you walk in Natalie (best sever ever) will greet you with a smile! Plenty of places to sit. Great place for lunch or dinner! Also a long beautiful bar. Great wines and beer! Mark (the owner) is just as friendly. He remembers the majority of his customers. Gabriel (the chef) is so talented! Everything he makes is delicious! Long over due review My family and I decided to try this place for Mother's Day I called ahead to see if we needed to reserve and a gentleman answered the phone and was very nice. He told us he would have a nice table for our party of 10. When we arrived everything was set up for us. He made us feel like family. Gave us great menu recommendations. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and it sure was delicious. The sauce was amazing and the amount of mushrooms was perfect. Such a beautiful experience. My niece was craving Italian food as her special birthday dinner so I found this place on a whim and it absolutely did not disappoint. Everyone welcomed us so warmly. They treated us like it was a special day even before they knew it was her birthday. Lets start by saying that the staff was amazing! Very attentive and extremely welcoming. The restaurant is pretty dark inside and the music is pretty loud, and that causes people to talk a little louder. So if you want a quiet place to eat this is probably not it. As for the food, it was good; but not great. We got the bolognese and chicken parmigiana. Like it said, it was good but i wouldn't say it was "out of this world - i have to eat it again!" Kind of good. The best thing i ate here would be the pizza! Now that i can say was amazing. I hate pizza. Any chain restaurant pizza; even Costco. But this pizza was thin crust, sauce was just right. The only reason my friends and I popped into this lovely establishment was due to waiting 2 hours to be seated at another restaurant nearby. We couldn't decide what we wanted to eat after being hungry for all you can eat KBBQ but yelp narrowed it down and we were not disappointed. The food tastes as if the chef took his time to cook each and every one of our dishes specifically for us. The waitress ,kind and attentive, did not let the mood from our waiting experience sink in. As soon as we were seated we completely forgot about the whole ordeal. Tried this place out, and was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, and the staff was great. We ordered the risotto balls, which were nice and crunchy on the outside and soft and cheesy on the inside. I ordered the capellini because I was wanting something kind of light, and my dad ordered the bolognese with meatballs. I'm not a big meatball fan, but I loved these. Full of flavor, huge, and perfectly cooked. My pasta was full of flavor as well. The sun dried tomatoes were a good size and packed a lot flavor. I can't wait to come back here. read more

She's so nice and does her job at a fast pace -ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and caprese -the caprese sandwich was (from a 1-10) a solid 6. The bread wasn't crunchy and baked fresh, but rather stiff. My sis said her spaghetti was undercooked a tad bit, meatballs were delish - the fries that came with the sandwich were super yummy. (Had to add salt for flavor lol) but they were crunchy and had a tender inside. The desert which was some custard ice cream was the only dish that stood out most. It was sooooo good Atmosphere is nice and chill. -prices are a bit over set. So you overpay. Portions are for individuals and are great.
