I've been here twice in the last month and I let the fist visit back go, just thinking they were having a bad day but my visit today proved they clearly are not being led by anyone with a goal of positive customer service. We walked in at 8:45am on a Monday. Still considers peak breakfast out here in the burbs. No hot coffee ready, no clean tables and took ten minutes to order with only two people in front of us. Ordered a bagel and a breakfast sandwich which I was told would be brought to the table. I noticed after a couple of minutes that a bagel just like I orders was sitting on the pickup wall, and sitting, and sitting...... I asked an employer about it and he brought it over to our table but of course at this point it was now cold. Finally got he bagel heated up and my sandwich. It was dry so I figured I'd add a little mayo. Went to check the condiment area and everything but mayo. Asked one of the shift leaders with greasy hair not wearing a hair net in the meal prep area for some mayo, he said its over there and pointed to the condiment area I just searched. I told him there was none there and he sent another employee to verify my claim. Once verified that none existed, he went to search while the other employee said to another just put some in a cup from the food area. This first "leader" came out and told me sorry we're all out, almost at the same time the third employee Erica, handed me the mayo. I will not be returning to this Panera again....... read more

Upped one star since last time. Went here with lovie for some post workout nourishment and to kill time waiting for my pictures to develop at Target. He had a turkey on whole wheat, plain mustard with all the fixins (lettuce, tomato, with a slice of onion). I had a honey ham and swiss on rye, spicy mustard also with all the fixins. Upon my recent visit, ordered the NEW 4 cheese flatbread by the order screen inside the restaurant. It took about 10 minutes, was delivered fresh from the kitchen by a staff member, who called out my last name correctly. Social distance was not an issue, as the container was long enough to be contactless, as well. The 4 cheese flatbread, ample in size, reasonable in price & delicious. This place sucks. 8:00 AM Saturday morning and you're out of French toast bagels? You only have 6 cinnamon crunch left - crazy. So I order the cinnamon crunch bagels and have them sliced...not sure if it was user error or the machine but my bagels weren't sliced properly...not in half, they only sliced off the very top of each bagel, see picture. Boy oh boy was this place awesome when it first opened. Over the years it's gotten a little crappier. The service is AWFUL. Horrible. Terrible. My most recent visit was while I was in town with my family on my second to last day of winter break, and needless to say, it is the last time I'll be going to this Panera. The girl taking our order was certainly no Miss Personality, but whatever. I get it. It's Saturday night and you don't want to be at work. Well, I'm sorry...but suck it up for the last half hour, put a smile on your face, and don't make me feel like I'm putting you out by making you punch a few buttons and take my money. Grrr... My sister and I go to the other end of the restaurant where a worker begins sweeping up around us - she was so close to us that she brushed her gnarly broom against my shoes. The floor was PLENTY dirty on the other side of the restaurant (or even just a few feet away from us!), where she could have moved to while we were waiting for our meal. Anyway, we get our to-go bag of food which holds my beloved You Pick Two - the Classic Cafe, and Baked Potato Soup bread bowl. Mmmmmm... Cut to 15 minutes later when we get home. Open the bag, and what do we see??? NO SALAD DRESSINGS. NONE! There were THREE half salads in there with NO dressing. Yes...I know what you're thinking "Couldn't she just use ranch from the fridge or somethig?" NO. No, no, no. I wanted the delish Panera dressing that I'd been craving all day! For some reason my mom and sister didn't seem to care, BUT I DID. I know what's best for them. I called the restaurant, told them what had happened, and said that I'd be popping in to get my three little containers of dressing. My sister and I get in the car AGAAAAAAAIN and drive to Panera. I was sweet as pie when we walked in, and asked for my dressings. NOT ONE FREAKING APOLOGY! NOTHING! NOT A THING! There was a vein popping out of my forehead from the pure raaaaage, and I don't even get a "SORRY!" Once we got home, the food was great. Amazing. Now, let us cut to the next day. Can't get up - my stomach is in knots - cramping - RUNS - more runs - etc, etc, etc. This is the Sunday that I'm supposed to drive back to Los Angeles so that I can go to work the next day! I could not MOVE. All day. I don't remember ever being so sick in my LIFE, and I swear it's from the soup. Actually...I think it was the flu, since I felt like death for a week...but still. Maybe the stress of experiencing that horrible customer service somehow weakened my immune system and let the flu take over. Anyway, I had to call in sick from 350 miles away and barely made it over the Grapevine in the SNOW while wondering if I'd make it to the nearest gas station without ruining my car seat...and I'll forever wonder - "if I hadn't gone to Panera...would this have happened?" My first time here today and I gotta say, I am so impressed!! Love at first sight for this place! I arrived expecting to see a lot of bread to purchase! LOL. Oh my! they have a very good selection of sandwiches, soups, salads, smoothies, among other things. When I got in line, there must have been about 5 people in front of me. Line moved quickly, giving me enough time to stare at the menu....as I kept looking at the yummy selections the cashier was waving at me as I started day dreaming of all this good food in front of me! :P I selected the Turkey breast sandwich and avocado BLT. Cashier recommended the choose 2 deal which I get to choose from either a sandwich, soup or salad. I took the sandwich, chicken tortilla soup and they also throw in a bag of chips! Adding a refillable drink it all came out to about $11! The restaurant was spot less....they lady that delivers your food to the table was very nice and helpful. Food was right on point. The Chicken tortilla soup was delicious, I extremely recommend it, and my sandwich was just right! I am an instant fan!! If you have never been here, try it out. Very disappointing to go in and its consistently not cleaned up! The table all have dirty dishes on them and there is no place to sit unless you want to bus the dirty table. They need to hire more people. Also I have taken food home and the French Onion soup you go home with is a pitiful container less than 1 cup and its very expensive! Apparently I'm cursed when it comes to this Panera location because I've been other Paneras were the food was on point and so satisfyingly delicious, but this place? Nope. Recently went here with friends after receiving a $15 gift card. I got the big kids Grilled Cheese because hey, I'm a big kid at heart and who doesn't love grilled cheese? What a disappointment that was. Isn't grilled choose supposed to be served warmish--hot? Mine was cold, flavorless, bland and even though it had 4 kinds of cheeses, you could only really taste just one. My friends enjoyed their sandwiches for the most part, but I had to eat a pickle on one of their sides to at least get some flavor in my dish. Like any other Panera -- fabulous! The only issue I have with all Panera's (which is completely understandable) is that it gets super noisy around 11 until 130ish with the lunch crowd. It just bothers me because I'm always trying to study or work there (with their free wifi...which is sketchy sometimes =P). I again will suggest the tomato cream soup; its my fave there. I also like the mini lemon poppyseed bundt cake -- its a big on the sweet side so if you pair it with your black coffee its perfect! I recommend NOT getting the Chai at Panera because...they are bad. I want to like Panera. The food is good. The service and wait time are unacceptable. They have plenty of servers but no visible manager to direct their efforts. Everyone seems to be wandering about. The new electronic ordering system is terribly slow. It's quicker to just stay in line. There is a disconnect between when you order from the tablet and when your order is filled. Bagels that are available when you order are not available when they fill your order. Please get a boss in here that can manage these issues. read more

I've been to a few Panera locations before, but never in California. This is the first time I've noticed staff who deliver food to your table, instead of making you wait for it before you find a seat. Score! The staff are on the younger side, for the most part, making them friendly, fresh and high-energy. I like that. Also, when it took me a while to become reacquainted with the menu, the woman taking my order was patient and didn't seem annoyed when I told her I needed a minute. I ended up ordering a Mediterranean Veggie sandwich: lettuce, tomato, hummus, red peppers, red onion, all between two tasty slices of tomato-pesto (?) bread. Good service, good food, clean tables. I have been coming here for at least 6 or 7 years and until tonight, have luckily avoid the crappy service i now see listed in numerous reviews posted both lately and in the past. All good luck comes to an end and mine was no exception. Ordered thru the My Panera app at 8:30pm and got a 8:55pm curbside pick up time. I arrived at 8:50pm and pushed the "I'm here" button on both the app and the email I received upon arriving and waited. On all the other occasions I've ordered, the service has been within 5 mins and prompt, not tonight. As it passed 9:10pm, I knew the store was closed but the kitchen door which they come out of was ajar 6 inches so I gave it a few more mins. I see I girl cleaning her bread rack thru the front window while my headlights beam in thru the windows while I sit in the curbside spot. Nothing.. could of been beating someone in front of the store and this girl is not going to do shit. So finally I call the store which now that I waited instead of being impatient, screwed me since the store was closed and went to message. So I get out and walk up to the door and gently open it while announcing myself so as to not startle anyone. Well ,well, now Miss Unattentive which is proficient at not noticing shit springs into action and pops up at the door with a sassy little face and pulls on the door stating they are closed and dont come to this door!!! No shit!!! If someone was paying attention to the computer telling them I was there, then no problem, my butt would of laziedly been still in the car seat and not out of the car negating the meaning of curbside service. The girl says... " you want your order?" NO SHIT, I came down to watch you clean your freaking bread racks for late night entertainment, duh!!! I watch her snap up the food off the togo table not more than 15 feet across from her and out the front door she storms. Well unfortunately , I've already snapped into cut off my nose to spite my face mode and let her to go refund my order and ask her name ( which as bad as I want to state , I won't) She snaps off her name in her shitty little sassy attitude and says... "want the manager?" to which I reply, sure..drag them out here. The manager Robert appears and states he's refunded my order and sorry for her attitude and take the food. He did it so fast that it seemed he already is attune to her shit attitude. I told him didn't come down to get in a fight over salad at 9pm!!! The item I received did not include all the ingredients listed. I brought this up to an employee and she had informed me they charge for the caramel because what I ordered doesn't come with it. I had the green goddess salad and onion soup which were both fairly good. My husband had the "steak" sandwich. Hardly any meat, which was not steak but deli roast beef which was tasteless. I've been enjoying Panera (aka St. Louis Bread Company) for years. They always have very tasty food, quickly served, and it feels relatively healthy considering the alternatives. Each time they come out with something new on their menu, when I try it I'm impressed that it tastes so good. They've got good food scientists, that's for sure. Past couple of years they've been going a little more up-scale with their presentation, including bringing your food to you and bussing tables (instead of how it used to be where you always bussed your own table and had to wait for your food until your name was called). These guys run a tight ship, and have delivered consistently on fast, hot and delicious food. Recommended to try: -- Frontega Panini -- Chipotle Chicken sandwich (SO GOOD) -- Asian chicken salad and / or cobb salad Their coffee is ok, and they have unlimited free refills and free wifi (another big plus). read more

This morning, after buying the smoked salmon at Trader Joe's, I thought I would head over to Panera for some bagels. I totally forgot why I have not been there in over three years. Well apparently nothing have changed... I entered the place, there was only one customer being assisted. I stood at the designated spot in front of the counter, more that one worker passed by behind and in front of the counter but I was never acknowledged. I headed to a self serve kiosk and placed an order for 3 sesame bagels, one plain bagel and two chocolate croissants. kiosk indicated that i will be called when order is ready. i waited around 5 minutes, watching other customers come in and get served at the counter. I was never called to pick up my order. after waiting an additional 5 minutes, I got in line and approached the counter and requested my order only to be told they are out of sesame bagels!!! (9:00 am at a bakery and they are out of a staple item). I requested to cancel my order and get a refund. she said she will get the manager who came in and said I should come earlier for sesame bagels !!! When I commented that "its now my fault that they do not have what customers want", he shrugged and continued the transaction. I do not understand what all the raves are about for Panera Bread. We stopped here for dinner with the family, and I expected to be wowed with the way friends and people online talk about it. I was definitely not wowed. Pros: It was clean. Nice roomy dining room with a good casual vibe. My husband's sandwich was pretty good. Cons: The service was crazy slow. I don't know that I've ever stood in line so long anywhere to give my order at the counter, and the line wasn't even that long. The kids meal portion is tiny! My kids usually share a kids meal (they don't eat a ton) but there wasn't enough mac & cheese here for even one of them. My soup (the broccoli cheddar) tasted like one of those dehydrated powder soups that had been reconstituted with some extra frozen broccoli thrown in. Way overpriced for what it is and I don't see myself going back. read more

I'm not impressed. I went for my first time on Sunday to get some soup for my Grandmother. She wanted enough to share so I asked about sizes and was told that Soup for a Group would be good for about 4 people, I'm not sure how they came up with that assessment because it was about enough for two bowls. The soup itself was nothing special, taste like standard store bought soup, and the four pieces of bread it came with were obviously not fresh, my guess would be cut early in the day and left sitting out. I like Panera Bread but, today, they gave me very poor customer service. I ordered and paid for Soba Noodle Soup and a you pick 2 soup/salad combo to go. They later found out that they do not have the Soba Noodle Soup. The server kept on insisting they can replace it with pasta. I don't know if it was for convenience (if the price is the same) but how exasperating can anybody be. She finally stopped offering the pasta when I told her that "pasta is not soup". Duh!!! I told her I wanted the Soba Noodle Soup replaced with a cup of Chicken and Wild Rice. They did not want to prepare the replacement until after I paid $5.77 for it even though I had a credit of $8.75 for the Soba Noodle Soup. What were they thinking!
