This location has really gone down hill. It seems to be dirty every time I come in and the food is prepared haphazardly. They even run out of the basics like Mac and cheese at 7pm in a Saturday. Must be hard to plan inventory. All things considered it is over priced for what you get. I travel a bit and know how good Panera can be. This location is just not up to par. Usually the staff turns things around if he food is iffy, but everyone seems sad to be here and there was a heavy Mgr guy barking orders. Rather depressing. read more

I'm sorry to say that in my opinion the relatively new Clarksville Panera is already slipping in quality. The last several times I've been inside the store it has been very dirty. Last night, as I approached the food pick up area to wait for my order, the stench from the garbage can right next to the pick up was overwhelming and sour. It's not a good idea to have the dirty dish/garbage drop right by where you pick up your food since it's an appetite killer, but I'm sure the management had no say in how the store was designed, so I don't fault them for the positioning. Because of that shortcoming in the stores design, they do need to be scrupulous about the trash being emptied frequently though, in order for it not to turn off diners as they wait to get their meals. There were many empty tables to sit at, but they were all dirty, so I picked the least disgusting one to sit at. That said, I generally stick to the drive-thru but I've begun having problems with my order being wrong. I always order the same salad and ask for no tomatoes or onions, but the past 2 times I have ordered it I've gotten home to discover that my request was ignored and the salad was covered in tomatoes and onions, neither of which I can eat. It's very annoying since Panera's salads aren't cheap and that's not a hard request. Just don't put them on it. How hard is that? I've even been questioned at the drive thru about why I don't want those 2 items (none of your business, really and you shouldn't ask your customers to explain their dietary preferences) which I found off putting. The employees are very friendly, but management probably needs to do some fine tuning on cleanliness and quality control. It's very frustrating to repeatedly have your order turn out wrong. I was turned off enough by the dirtiness of the dining room to not dine inside again. In the future I'm opening up my salad at the drive thru to make sure it's right before I leave and that shouldn't be a necessity. read more

Constant and predictable - I always love Panera. This one isn't the most cozy, doesn't have that warm homey feeling that some have. Food is great though and employees friendly. Pickup is fast and accurate. Great choice when you want plenty of food at a good price. read more

The food here is pretty good, breakfast is filling and the clam chowder seems pretty close to authentic. The sandwiches are kinda so so. They are slapped together willy nilly, the tables are never clean and there is always someone asleep in the back corner booths. Panera Bread is one of those places that my wife and I will go because the food is awesome and healthy, We have only lived in the clarksville area for about a month and we have already eaten here like 5 times. Food: The food choices here are really good, everything is fresh and pretty healthy. The bread is always warm fresh out of the oven and the pastries are never stale. Food almost always comes out in less than 3-5 minutes unless it is super busy. I don't like how small the sandwiches are, I like more meat, and maybe a bit bigger, probably better for me since they are small. Service: Awesome service, staff are always friendly, polite and smiling. Atmosphere: Lack of seating isn't really a concern of mine, this place is popular and that comes with the territory. I would say the eating area is pretty clean considering how many people come and go from this place. Eating outside is always pleasant too. Panera is always good. Glad they opened one up here in Clarksville. Prices run a little high, but the quality is better, and you get what you pay for. Menu/choosing can be a bit hard, it feels like your first time at Starbucks. What I like to do, is go on my iPhone in their mobile version website and choose what I want. There is an option to order online and pick up. They also have a drive thru! Two things we love to order from here are the bagels/cream cheese spreads for breakfast. The bagels are freshly baked, soft, doughy, and there are a variety to choose from. My favorite is the asiago cheese bagel. Second fav is the chocolate chip. For lunch we order the pick 2 option. Their sandwiches, soups, and salads are all great. Their smoothies are delicious, try the mango! I prefer their smokehouse turkey Panini, or the Tomato Mozzarella Panini, and chicken Cobb with avocado salad. It comes with a side. You can get a French baguette, apple, fruit cup, or baked chips. There are also great choices on their kids menu. Only drawback is the long lines. It is new here in Clarksville still, and it's a very popular lunch option but it does have a drive thru. When it's just my wife and I on a lunch date w no time constraints it's definitely dine-in, but if not we use their drive thru. They package everything really nice, especially the salad. You can take it to one of the parks here in town and enjoy it there. read more

They have self ordering on these tablet like things that makes the whole process of analyzing the menu and deciding what to choose so much resort and with way less pressure. I usually really enjoy Panera but this was not a good experience. I ordered using the mobile app and was pleased to see a bag with my name on the counter when I walked in a few minutes later. Unfortunately it wasn't my order and the person filling orders had to re-do the order. It was again filled incorrectly. How hard can a simple order of just broccoli cheddar soup be? The soup was good when I finally got it. The baguette was very stale - I know they are supposed to be crusty but this well beyond crusty... We were driving home from North Carolina and stopped in Clarksville for the night. We both enjoy Panera and were wanting some of their great soups. Well, the soups were okay, not very hot, and come on, a SMALL PLASTIC SPOON FOR THE SOUPS. The spoons were about the size my granddaughter would use. 2014-2015 The staff has improved and this location is not as busy. The "newness" has worn off. That being said, they're still "out of ingredients" more often than not, and the consistency of the meals isn't great. Always go here with my wife when we can't find something to eat and are just lazy. I'm sure everyone has been to Panera Bread but this store is pretty fast with getting your food out and making an special orders that you have. Came here to catch up with a friend this afternoon. The day was disgusting and pouring. It was fairly empty when we got there. We got our drink/food pretty quick and steaming hot. We sat in a tiny booth to catch up. The place died out shortly after. I loved seeing the employees active in the dining area. They were interacting with guests and cleaning or taking dishes away. I really don't like when you go into some Panera's and the dining area is dirty. One of the managers, I believe, went to the booth behind us. He was attempting to take dishes away. He noticed that they hadn't had any/very little of their turkey chilli. He asked if they liked it or if something was wrong with it. The husband said that his wife didn't really care for it. He asked him if he could get them something else. I was obviously being nosey, but I loved seeing that customer service. I had a really bad experience at the last Panera I went to; do it was nice to see the great service that was happening. He had gotten them dessert to go. Good for them for taking care of their customers. We stayed and talked for a couple hours. No one bothered us or acted like we inconvenienced them. Love Panera. read more

After waiting a long time, we pickup our screwed salads and informed a very rude young lady with a nasty attitude who proceeded to slop the missing ingredients into the bowls. I have eaten at several Panera Breads but not the one in my own town. I had lunch with a friend and she suggested we go there. They weren't very busy at lunch so we got right in and found a great table outside. I had the "You Pick Two" which was the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich with avocado added and a cup of black bean soup with bread. The sandwich was very tasty and I really wish I had gotten the whole instead of the half and the soup. The black bean soup was okay. I love black beans but I just wasn't crazy about the soup. My friend had the chicken noodle soup and thoroughly enjoyed it with the same sandwich. She expressed that both were yummy. The restaurant was clean. There was plenty of parking. This is my first visit here, I felt like my first visit to Starbucks (confusing menu) the staff was pretty helpfully but we ended up with a $40 bill for 3 people. Extremely overpriced for what it look like a half toast sandwich. It was flavorful but after leaving I was hungry still. It is very unlikely that we return. Good place for a soup-and-sandwich lunch. The salads are huge, fresh-tasting and served with a chunk of baguette (as are the soups). One problem that we've frequently encountered there is a lack of seating. The "free wi-fi" seems to attract a lot of people who think of this as a place to order a cup of coffee then camp out with their laptops. On several occasions I've seen small groups of what look like college students who seemed to be using the place as a study hall, clogging up tables while diners wander around with their trays of food in search of a place to sit down and eat. I've never been to Panera before going to this one. After my first visit I was seriously hooked for life. The food here is by far amazing. It always tastes fresh and full of flavor. I am never dissatisfied in what I order. The staff are always incredibly polite, nice, and talkative. The staff 100% make the experience here better. There have been a few times where they may have forgotten a little something in my order but when I go in and explain they are fast to fix it and make up for it, even with a smile. I had previously visited a Panera Bread in Nashville and was excited to bring my mom here but it was not as good. Of course the inside looks nice. Walking in the place was so busy there is no place to stand and look at the menu without being in someone's way. Then we had a blonde cashier who wasn't friendly. Like coffee? If your lactose intolerant or vegan, the only creamer options are milk and half-and-half. They really need to change that. Also the healthy sandwich I so much wanted was breakfast only. This is my very first time eating at Panera, despite having one at near Memphis. Before I actually went to the place, I thought it was going to be more of a restaurant but turns out it's like a cafe. Which is totally cool with me. Walking in, there was the sweet smell of the bakery...which was amazing. But it was pretty packed when I came with a friend. The line was long, but it didn't take long for us to make our order and paid for our food. The place was placed, seating was limited but the manager was kind enough to tell those who was waiting that they should have it to go if they are not willing to wait for an available seats (which will take about 20 mins). Every body was really nice. I went and got the 2 for idk how much deal lol. I got a bowl of cream of chicken and rice and a chopped chicken cobb with avocado. It took like less than 10 mins for our food to be pick up. (We found a table btw) I didn't order a drink, but they had cups for you to get water. The piece of baguette came with the meal. It was warm and fresh, simply yummy!!!! I also love the salad because they used real chicken slices. It was a nice touch. The soup was creamy and goes well with the bread. I have used Panera Rapid pick up multiple times and it is always top notch! Today I ordered for 11 people for pick up at 11:30. I walked in at 11:30am and was leaving with everything at 11:36am. I went in on a night they were having a staff meeting. I was aware that they were closing early so I didn't get much food. They took 20 minutes to get my food to me, and by that time they closed in less than 10 minutes. I tried to eat my food fast because I knew they were closing, but as soon as they closed all of the staff started sitting at all of the tables around me and looking at me like I was in the wrong. I felt very uncomfortable and felt that they could have waited another two minutes and I would have been done with my food. I felt like I was being pushed out by 30 staff members. No one ever asked if I could move to another table out of their way. I was very uncomfortable and I will not be returning to this Panera. I felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable being surrounded by staff that were looking at me and wanting me to leave. I've never had a bad experience there before this but they have now ruined there good reputation for me. read more
