I don't write many reviews, but felt the need to do so after this visit. Stopped with my family on our way through town. Sadly, we were extremely unimpressed. The value of food for our money was terrible. We felt the price of Panera food must have gone up, the total cost for two adults and two small kids was shocking. The food seemed 'thrown together', sandwiches falling apart, soup was barely warm, and the restrooms were horrendous. Seemed that they hadnt cleaned restrooms in weeks...horrible smell, dirty and damaged. My wife said the women's was the same. We were glad to finish and will probably not visit another Panera. read more

My favorite Panera location. The staff is amazing. The food is wonderful. It is ALWAYS clean. Parking lot is small though.

Super-friendly staff, especially for a chain in this area. I was nicely surprised by an awesome latte. The Mediterranean Veggie sandwich was also delicious, second surprise for me since I'm a dedicated omnivore and am not inclined towards any sandwich without meat. I will definitely go for one again, though. Points for having vegan-friendly options, although they aren't advertised as such. -1 star because what bread/bagel place doesn't do a bagel & lox? Especially if they have salmon for other sandwiches? Also not a huge fan of the black bean soup. It's only flavor is black bean, which I suppose fits, but I was expecting something more than literally black beans. The outdoor seating patio extends around two sides of the building, and was routinely bussed. I can definitely see coming back when I'm in the area. read more

Definitely great people working here - nice and friendly. The food is wonderful - The strawberry - poppyseed salad can't be beat. I've eaten here lots of times over the last 2 years and enjoyed everything I've gotten except fot the cheeseballs in one of their new salads ( the salad itself was excellent the just discarded the cheeseballs after tasteing the first one. read more

Stopped by for a late lunch today on my way to DC. The restaurant had far fewer patrons than during peak lunch hour ... so you would think they could get the order right and keep the napkins and bathroom TP stocked. I asked for no feta on my veggie sandwich, add avocado with multigrain bread. They got the avocado right, so I assume the register clerk took the order correctly. I got feta and French bread instead. I scraped the feta off so I didn't have to waste time. To make the visit even better, the restroom did not have TP. Come on Panera! I know you can do things right, but you have to be consistent to keep your customers! I make the trip on 95 every few months, so I may give it another shot. read more

I ordered a turkey bravo, fruit cup and drink on the kiosk. First they said they didn't have bacon. Then no fruit cup. I also didn't get my drink( realized it when I was half way down 95 south). And my sandwich was saturated with the special sauce making the bread extra soggy. Worst experience at a Panera ever! Wish you could rate them with no stars. read more

Our first time at this location. Your staff were all super friendly and engaging. Your star performer of the day is Mustafa though. Super nice and sweet! I must say out of all the years I have eaten at Panera in every location we have moved to (military) I have never had someone come up to us and offer to throw our empty plates out and encourage a to go box for the unfinished sandwich. He even brought me a to go bag and napkins on top of the small box. Thank you so much for your kindness! Smiling the whole time too. I got food poison then gave Panera Col Hgts one more chance, but food poison once again. Tired of being sick throwing up my food less than an hour after consumption, so I will never dine again! I've been here a few time. The internet is always slow or never works. The food usually takes longer to get when it's not busy. Today I came in and it wasn't busy the lobby was dirty there were maybe 10 or 13 customers here, it took a little longer to get my food then expected because it was 2 dip items. My sandwich was made first and it was cold by the time my salad was finished. I will still go to Panera because I love the Chester, Va store but I don't think I will be going to the Colonial Heights, Va one anymore. read more

Do not order coffee from this location. Their latte tasted like someone took an espresso and poured water in it. Go to Starbucks .0025 miles away for real drink. To the manager of this location: train your employees to do their fucking job and make some decent coffee. read more

The food is good but the prices are outrageous. It's not really wot the what they charge for soup and sandwiches when you could get it way cheaper and better somewhere else. I recommend Crowd Pleasers in petersburg , way better and it's worth the price. read more

We are driving in from out of town and placed a $60 order only to get there 15 mins after ordering to wait another 20 mins for it. Then get to the car with half of our order missing. And THEN to find out they ran out!! Worker was running outside to smoke as we were still waiting for our order then comes back in and proceeds to bag our order. Manager refunded one pick 2 and a soup. By the time we got the other order our food we did receive was cold and barely toasted. We literally drove 20 mins out of the way so we didn't go to a panera at closing time that was closer to our destination. Also spent 10 mins online ordering for it to not let me continue with placing so I had to call it in. Very very disappointed. And i hope everyone sees this location is not worthy of making a order correct or the manager of stepping in and fixing it completely. read more

I eat here at least once a week. I could eat there everyday. I love their caesar salad with kale and chicken. The green tea is delicious. I wish they sold the tea in supermarkets. The soups are great also, especially chicken and wild rice soup. Not to mention the lemon drop cookies and bagels. It is just a wonderful place to order for pick up. I could go on and on. read more

I thought it might be a couple of isolated incidents, but after my experience this week, I'm sure it's poor training and even worse management. This location was excellent for the first few years, but in the last year and a half, it's not living up to the "eating clean and fresh" marketing campaign being touted by corporate advertising. The food has been okay, but not exceptionally tasty.....nor fresh.....we tend to pick out Rusty and bruised greens from the salads and tomatoes that are soggy and certainly past their prime. I had to pick up lunches for several instructors at our office this week and after finally getting the order from the pick up area, looked into the brown bag of boxed salads and noticed a pile of baguettes thrown on top of the orders. I got the attention of the woman who appeared to be in charge and asked if I could have the bread wrapped. She quickly advised that "we don't do that". I told her I thought if we were dining in, it would have been acceptable for them to be served unwrapped, but I had to travel back to my office and hand out the order and I don't think it looks clean or appetizing to see them slung around the bag. She snatched the bag back and instructed her co-worker to find some paper and wrap them. She was annoyed by my request and was rude in the process. I also saw workers taking breaks to use the restroom, while wearing aprons they wear to prepare food. This was not the lunch rush and the place was a wreck of tables needing to be cleared and cleaned and floors needing attention. Management is really lacking here. I travel around the country and frequently visit PB in other cities and airports. The Panera Bread locations in both Colonial Heights and Chester, Virginia need attention from corporate trainers or the local health department. read more
