LOL I fucking hate this Panera because they called the cops on my friend and I, and the police kicked us out in the middle of our meal! Sheesh! People always assume the worst. We arrived at 8:00PM and ordered our food, which was very good. I got my usual--the mediterranean veggie sandwich on the sesame semolina with no feta and extra cilantro hummus with an apple. My friend got the classic grilled cheese on sesame semolina with mushrooms and onions. At around 8:45PM, I ordered some dessert (a brownie). I'm so sorry! I am nearly always a vegan, but I needed to taste this joint one last time. It was good. Taylor took our order, and she is really friendly and hospitable. We even talked about her ex-boyfriend because she's that cool. She is the only reason I am giving two stars. Anyways, two police officers came at 8:50PM and approached us, asking what cheese we had with us (trying to break the ice). We had three packs of vegan cheese from Whole Foods (almond mozzarella, vegan pepper jack, and American). We weren't sure why they were talking to us. Then they asked us what were we doing there so close to the closing time (9:00PM) and what was our deal. We told them matter-of-factly that we were just eating dinner. They accused us of staying at this location for over an hour, but we had only been there for 50 minutes. There were lots of other customers here at this same time, but the police singled us out for some odd reason. Maybe the dumb manager (I think is name is Fred?) called the police because he was suspicious of why we were having such a jolly time. We were laughing a lot, so maybe he thought we were under the influence. But anyone who knows us knows that we don't fuck with those things. Nothing to see here! read more

Unfortunately, Panera's prices seem to continually creep up while their portions seem to be getting smaller. Not as bad when dining in, but since Covid we have only picked up food to go. I like their food, but sadly I don't see this trend reversing. Panera has priced itself out of being a decent value. read more

I've been to Panera so many times, all my experiences have just blended together to create one big memory blob. So, I will base my review from said blob. I walk through the set of double doors. The first thing I see is a table displaying an assortment of baked goods. My mind tells me not to ruin my appetite, so I ignore them. I stop close enough from the cashiers to let them know that I am, indeed, a customer, but not too close to give them the impression that I am ready to order. I argue with myself: "Do I want the You-Pick-Two? That sounds good, but do I want a sandwich, salad, or soup? Oh gosh, they changed the menu! That new seasonal salad looks good...so does that soup...and the sandwich. Wait, do I get a regular sandwich or a panini? Argh, I still need to decide on the second item! And a drink! Ahh!" After a minute of mental debate, I finally place my order. I take my receipt and the buzzer, get a glass of water, and find a seat (booth or table? Decisions decisions...). Once the buzzer goes off, I get my tray and sit back down. The presentation is quite nice, The soup is warm. The salad looks great. I'm glad I got my dressing on the side; they sometimes drench my salad in the dressing. The salad lettuce was crunchy and fresh; the toppings were nice and tasty; the apple chips were okay, but got a little soggy when I added the dressing. I can't complain about the soup, except maybe it was a little watery (I'm talking about the garden vegetable soup for those wondering). Okay, time to clean up. Okay, what goes where again? Right, utensils in the small rectangular bin (*drop drop*); bowls in the larger bin...but I need to clean up the leftovers (blah! *spill drop bang bang bang*); napkins in the trash; tray on top. Okay, my hands are all gross now. Time to wash them....all washed! Time to go home! Well, I hope you enjoyed my somewhat disorderly thought processes in this review! Essentially, my experience at almost every Panera is the same. Decent food, nice staff, good coffee, and good desserts. Breakfast isn't anything special; just oatmeal and breakfast sandwiches. I would rather make them at home instead of getting them here. Overall, this Panera (well, any Panera) is a good place to go for a quick and comfortable lunch or dinner. read more

Food is like any other Panera Bread so no point in reviewing that. Location and service are the only differentiators and this store is in a very convenient location to me and the service is excellent. I've not only experienced outstanding service here but I've also noticed how well they treat special needs customers like the elderly and small children with their parents who always get special attention. It's nice to see the often young men and women who typically work in this type of job taking pride in their work and providing such a positive service to the community. Panera - BEST CHAI LATTE. Better than Cosi or Starbucks for sure. The iced green tea is another winner :) I love their french onion soup and the black bean soup. Both very filling. I've tried a number of their sandwiches and I have to say, just ok. The Sierra Turkey tastes like generic turkey from the grocery store and the chipotle mayonnaise was kinda ewwe. If you want a good turkey sandwich here and don't mind the calories, go for the Bacon turkey bravo...the tuna is good too :) If you want the tomato & Mozzarella sandwich go to Cosi's instead. All their bread from the bakery is fabulous. Staff is always friendly and tried to get people off line ASAP. read more

This Panera is an overall nice location. It's a great place to get some studying done. The food was a little pricey for a fast food establishment- $14 for a sandwich and a cup of french onion soup, but both tasted fine. The wifi was also very slow, and this was at 8pm. Not sure why this Panera advertises "Rapid Pickup". Every other panera places your order in the pickup area, this one keeps it behind the counter forcing guests to wait in the order line to request their bag. This is not a one time issue, it's a frequent pattern. Food was OK, but the added wait time makes it a negative experience. read more

So, I've been back a few times since my last review an have to say its much better than before. Now they seem to keep a stash of extra coffee right behind each of the blends so when it runs out its quick and easy to change out. Another thing this time I was with my son who has a nut allergy and the manager was patient and put the extra effort to ensure our food did not have any nuts. Had dinner here this evening. The staff is friendly and courteous. I ordered an Italian with chips and a drink. The bill was $11.01 which I thought was expensive. The sand which had a nice roll but there was very little meat and fillings. It was a disappointment. The chips were good as was the lemonade but over all I would have been better off at subway. read more

My usual Panera spot- no longer! A few weeks ago I was in the supermarket near the Panera and a lady was telling a bunch of us in line that the police had to go to Panera to ask someone to leave because they brought their non service dog in the restaurant. I thought that was an isolated incident. However, today, I go in and there's a lady with a non service dog in her lap eating from her hand and licking the table! I spoke with the manager on duty and she said she can only ask her to leave but it won't matter because the woman frequently does this and is a lawyer and won't leave. I was shocked. It is against the health code to allow non service animals in a restaurant. The management should step it up and make sure this person is not allowed to bring their animal in the restaurant. It is the law. Plain and simple. And it's disgusting. And I will not be back. read more

I love Panera! Whether it's their fresh bread, their good service, or their sandwiches, I am never let down. I always get their breakfast sandwiches in the morning and their lunch sandwiches in the afternoon. If there is one thing I was disappointed in, it was that they took the Caesar sandwich off the menu. But other than that, it is a wonderful and healthy food choice. read more

I am very displeased with my experience at Panera. I placed an order for rapid pick up and waited 10 minutes before anyone could help me track down my order. Finally I walk up to the cashier after I asked him if he had my order for my last name twice and he said I can take your order up here. I told him that I had just spoke to him about my missing order and the first thing he said to me was I don't know let me see. He then asked his coworker who looked at me and said well I didn't have it and I don't know. The cashier then walks me to the rapid pick up shelf and says "the orders are in alphabetical order so I don't see yours". Finally we go back to the front and he asked what I ordered and for proof of purchase. I show him a receipt and then he asks if it's payed for (you can't place an order online unless you pay for it?). The one girl working hard behind the line asks what I order and then shows her coworkers how to look up order numbers on the screen- something they should probably know how to do. He then looks at me and says "yeah I don't know if we didn't made it or if someone took it but they will make it soon". Honestly, I am asking if Panera can train their employees to be more friendly, helpful, and have a stronger work ethic. Only one woman helped me and everyone else stood their and stared or looked mad at me for being difficult when I was just trying to get the food I payed for. No manager spoke to me and one girl said "Opps sorry here's your order" when she handed it to me. I am still frustrated and confused with the whole situation and probably will not return to the store as they have messed up the other two times I have been here. read more

Since my other review in 2017, I have not been back to Panera. I decided, after all the commercials about "clean food the way it should be," I'd see how things were going. So I went a few days ago. It was nearly empty at the dinner hour, which was surprising. I had a salad, which tasted absolutely toxic. The chicken had a nasty, sour taste. There were so few greens, it was absurd to even include them. Ohhh, but they made up for it with an overabundance of nasty, strong onions. OMG. My husband smelled them when I walked into the kitchen. We had to wrap them up and take them outside to the garbage can. This is a new assault. I don't recall ever having this issue in the past. This is clean food? NASTY. I also had the chicken and wild rice soup, so overwhelmed with thickeners (flour), it was more like the paste I used to make as a kid. Are they not ashamed of themselves??? This restaurant used to ROCK. Now it FLOPS. I think the Health Dept should inspect the freshness of the food. Does Bezos own this too? NO MORE PANERA. read more

I never really write reviews for chain restaurants or anything, but this is by far my favorite Panera location around. I find that it is definitely way less crowded than any other Panera locations I've ever been to. I usually go to Panera with my laptop to do some work, and I find that this location is definitely the best for that. There is never a shortage of space, or that awkward moment when you've gotten your food and are walking around trying to find a seat and there just aren't any available..Free coffee and tea refills, and way more outlet plugs for my laptop than anywhere else! The noise level is pretty acceptable as well. Definitely conducive to productivity. read more

Farewell Panera Kentlands. For the first several years, I spent lots of time and money enjoying healthy fast food. Panera was and has the best crowd control I've ever seen. Even during busiest times, when lines were long and comprised mainly of groups, they *moved*. Impressive food, impressive overall eating experience. But the food. The food. Awful. The worst. I realize that just about every restaurant I've ever liked in the last decade or so has taken a nose dive. Quality and quantity. Panera was great for a couple of years. Then I noticed less of everything..less chicken salad on the sandwich, less of everything in the salads, esp the main ingredient. Then it became hit/miss. Some days were better than others. I've eaten in all Paneras in the area, but Kentlands is decidedly the worst. Kentlands, the land of horrible eating. There's a place that should have at least 4 decent family restaurants and several places for adults to dine. It has *never* had one, imo, except for Panera itself that was worth the money. NYAJ is now lousy, was pretty good. Better than most...but now, after several bad dinners, no way. This past week, I stopped in for the Chicken Cobb salad. I did carry out. It smelled great. To my horror, what you could find of the chicken was hard as a rock - I threw it out. The greens were dirty and tough, couldn't even chew through them. There was *one* hard round piece of what I guess was bacon. All of a sudden, this salad has become the Green Goddess Cobb. Is that supposed to be a good thing? They must have won a vat of this crap in a contest. Sadly, I'm done w/the last OK restaurant in Kentlands. I will say Batik *can* be good. It can also be way too greasy. So you take your chances. The rest, pfffffft. Panera, you need to get your s together. If that happens, I'll gladly return. read more

I was in a hurry and My rapid pickup order wasnt ready when it said it would be. So I had to go out of my way to ask for it which isn't the way it's supposed to be. The hazelnut coffee was watery so I had to go back and ask for more. Then on top of that I find out I've been given a small coffee cup and not a medium like I ordered. Maverick had a problem with the food , but today I was suggested a lunch combo and told the price . And when a trainee wring up something higher , I asked if the higher price was due to tax and was told yes . But when I get the receipt I found that was not the case , I was charged higher then what I was quoted . To their defiance , apparent the higher price was the correct one , but when the trainee as well as the trainer both mess up , I would have prefers they just give it to be for the $1.00 less , rather then prompting me to ask for a refund on just a matter of principle . The food is good and the personnel are friendly. However, the environment is too chaotic for my taste. First, having two different ordering stations (bakery/breakfast and other meals) creates initial confusion. More importantly, the self-service food pick-up and table bussing, along with the crowded drink station and complex trash station are not customer-friendly. Places like Corner Bakery and Zoe's Kitchen have equally good food and are much more customer-friendly. Ordering is simpler, they bring your food to the table, and they don't expect you to bus your table. So much better than Panera! read more

Placed a Rapid Pickup order Friday, and forgot to select my side. Took my order up to the counter, and Shawn was able to swap out the bread for apples. I placed a 7 person phone order today for 1- Ham/Swiss on white tst, 3- Turkey/Amer on white toast, 1-turkey/Amer on rye tst, and 1-Turkey/Amer on whole wheat tst. I got 2 turkey's/Amer on white tst and everything else was Ham/Amer on rye. WOW....really bad! If you can't get an order for 7 sandwiches right.....where do you go from that level of service. I'll be using another restaurant in the future. This is not normally the case. I'm thinking this is an employee issue. Seriously poor listening skills. He should have read the order back ot me which I believe would prevent this type of error in the future. read more

I've never been a big fan of Panera with the exception of their bagels and shortbread cookie, but the new BBQ chicken flatbread is surprisingly good. Service here is always a hit. I've been coming at least once a week for almost three years now, and whoever is working the register always remembers my coffee and cookie after my first visit. They get my carry out order wrong every time. Not sure what is so hard about a croissant with turkey, Swiss and mayo. Wrong every time.

So I will start out by saying the food is good. The problem is the setup for ordering your food. For some reason all Panera locations try to separate the bakery line from all other orders. It's about the most stupid thing I have ever seen. Every time I go to any location, there is total confusion about who is in line for what. I never have this problem at Corner Bakery on any other quick service establishment. I hope some process engineer at Panera reads this and gets a clue. read more
