This Panera is not making enough bread! I've tried to order bread bowls, out of bread. Today I went in, they were out of all bread! Better leadership is needed if Panera Bread cannot keep 'bread' on the shelf. Customers expect bread, just saying. read more

We ordered online, and everything went fine. No messages that they were out of anything. By the time we got our delivery 45 minutes later, we didn't get any of the bread. Bread bowls and French Baguettes. I tried to call, but after waiting on the phone for over 10 minutes, I took our meal and went to the restaurant instead. It wasn't busy. When I spoke with the manager, she explained they were out of bread. Okay, fine. I get that. She said she told the driver to tell me. The driver didn't. Not even after I exclaimed that the bag our food came in was smaller than I expected. What makes me upset is that I paid for something, never received it, and never got reimbursed. I had to tell the manager I know there's a price difference and would like to get my money back for the product I never received. She acted like it was an inconvenience. I get not having the food on hand, especially when it gets later, but to not even try to reach out and make it right is what pisses me off. They were going to blow me off while keeping the money for something they never provided. Is this standard practice for Panera? We won't be back. read more

I ordered a large delivery order for a company meeting to be delivered by a certain time and it came 45 minutes early. The hot food will be cold and soggy. I called the manager at the store and she blamed it on doordash and said that they don't have enough time to re-do the order and get it to us on time. She offered to mail me some coupons. What a waste of $170.00 in food. I don't think I will be using the coupons if they ever come. Very Dissatisfied. read more

Love Panera Bread and understand when it's busy and that maybe under staffed. That is why I love curb side pickup and in line ordering. Great place to eat and work! Highly recommend it. Fireplaces, tall ceilings, and relatively quiet atmosphere given how big the place is!

Service was relatively quick for stopping in around lunch time, which was nice. I feel like the worker should have known the menu a little bit better (maybe they were new? I'm not sure). But I tried to ask what was on something and it took her awhile to figure out how to look it up on the computer. Overall though, not a bad place to stop! If we would have thought about it we probably would have used the website and ordered ahead, but it was a last minute decision to stop there. read more

The whole experience here was terrible. The woman at the front taking my family and I's order was very rude and not engaging with us. Then our pager never went off to tell us our food was ready. A woman whom i assume is the manager came and told us our food had been ready but when I told her that the pager never went off she just said oh and walked away. I feel gracious giving this Panera 2 stars, the average food prevented this from being a 1-star review. One of my least favorite restaurants in the area. Why? If you've ever dined inside it would be evident. It's disturbingly dirty...not quite "gas station bathroom in a shady part of town" dirty, but definitely not what I would expect in a restaurant. I've been to this location multiple times, each and every time there are multiple tables that have not been cleaned up. What is hard to comprehend is that most times, nobody cleaned up the dirty tables during our entire visit. Our last visit was on a Saturday, roughly 2-3pm, while looking for a seat for our party of 4, I counted 6 dirty tables. I'm not talking crumbs on the table dirty...these are tables that hadn't been cleared off at all. You could easily double this number if you count the tables that were cleared off, but either had crumbs on the table or chairs. A PSA for those of you who use Panera as your makeshift office or place to do homework - if you're going to sit there by yourself for hours milking a coffee, do everyone else a favor and take a smaller table. I think my wife and daughter (who are big Panera fans) are finally starting to realize how bad this location is (at least compared to the others in the GR and Holland area). I honestly don't understand how this place is as busy as it is. If I was the owner of this Panera, I'd be embarrassed. Haven't been here in ages, but for a quick Saturday lunch it was the perfect choice! I did the pick 2 (half turkey, apple, bacon sandwich with a cup of Mac & cheese with BACON). What can I say, I'm a bacon lover! The food was good, & prices are awesome for what you are getting. The bakery selection wasn't fully stocked so that limited my choices but I did get a chocolate chip muffie which is basically a flattened version of a muffin but just the top. Can you say delicious!? Because it was. They even cater. Overall great experience, I definitely recommend stopping in for breakfast or lunch. read more

Visiting Grand Rapids to drop off my daughter to GVSU. I have always loved to having breakfast at Panera bread. This place is packed even at 10am during my visit! My favorite coffee (hazelnut) was out at time But the staffs were very helpful so he filled one cup for me. The sandwich was perfectly toasted for bagel. The sausage egg sandwich was perfectly done! I think my only complaint is that the coffee can't supply fast enough to demand at time. I saw at least 3-4 people behind me also want hazel nut coffee but it was out! So what next is the creamer was also out!! And so other coffee!!! I give four stars so one star because coffee can't supply enough! I believed the management should looking into high sale during curtain time period so they can better prepared! Hope this feedback would help! read more

Giving Panera 2 stars makes me kind of sad. I've come here for years and always enjoyed my experience. There was an incident years ago, but the staff is very kind and was able to resolve it. I've visited this Panera so many times. During my senior year of high school, I would get breakfast here nearly every day. With the pandemic, I turned to Panera for delivery quite often. However, the quality in service has decreased tremendously. For the past few months, each one of my orders has had AT LEAST one thing wrong. Whether it's the 4-pack of cookies missing, a missing side dish for a meal, or putting bacon instead of sausage, it's always something. Also, they always arrive late. Anywhere from 20-60 minutes late, which is frustrating when I have to go to work. I stopped ordering for a month and tried again today. I thought it would be better. It wasn't. The order arrived late and there was an error. At this point, I'm going to stop ordering from this location. read more

Well looking throughout the comments, this location is consistently not well kept. I ordered soup for a friend of mine and thankfully the plans changed because I would have been embarrassed to show up with what I was given. Unfortunately I tried again a few days later and the pickle they served looked like it had been kicked around on the floor all morning. My daughter's mac n cheese was cold. I don't get why the reviews are bad. I guess the experience is different for everyone but I go here a lot and it's been fine. Occasionally they mess up an order and occasionally the tables are dirty, but they've always given us free meal vouchers for our troubles and someone was always willing to clean the table if we asked. I was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease, so I'm still figuring out how to stick with my gluten-free diet in restaurants. It's especially hard on road trips! I went out of my way to check out this Panera location when I was driving through the area, specifically for the gluten-free options. They couldn't have been more accommodating, and I was so grateful! The most frustrating thing about my dietary restrictions is that I have to feel like such a high-maintenance jerk whenever I eat out, but the staff made me feel totally comfortable and totally safe. Without me even asking, they looked up the ingredients of my salad order in a binder full of allergy information, and the chef immediately changed his gloves before handling my food. Such a relief not to have to worry that I'll get sick! Thanks so much, Grandville Panera - I'll definitely be back! I love their food! I can't comment on thier bakery stuff though b/c I never have room after eating a bread bowl (usually brocolli-cheddar, YUMMO!). I don't think they've ever screwed up my order and staff is usually friendly. It can get a bit crowded though so make sure to come on off hours. A favorite of mine and a must have for the wife. Great rotating selection of soups and salads. Creative menu options and combinations, "you pick 2" is the best. Turkey bacon bravo is the king of sandwiches. Tomato basil bread, fresh sliced turkey, spiced mayo, and smoked Gouda cheese. Add some cheese broccoli soup and you have an award winning pair. Always consistent service no matter which location you visit. One last thing to add... My wife also worked at Panera for a year and still loves eating there. Please train your employee. I watched this clearly new employee struggle with a simple order for sliced bread while the manager was right next to him. He fumbled his way through setting up the slicer. His hand was still in the machine on the bread loaf when he started up the blades. Then after he sliced the bread he couldn't figure out how to use platform on the top that helps put the sliced bread into a bag so that it stays all together. You can look at the pictures I posted to see how that turned out. Lastly, he placed my bagged bread on the ground while he wire tied it closed. I'm very disappointed. read more

He thinks its because they were severely understaffed. Supposed to get coupons sent in the mail since he called and told them what happened... didn't come in a few weeks, so I emailed the store manager and he was very short with me and said he had sent one coupon out recently. My girlfriends and me visited this Panera the other day and had quite the experience. Upon walking in it reminded me of a trip I took to Italy. The aroma smacked me in the face like a warm summer breeze, smelled like home. I ordered the broccoli cheddar soup and italian sandwich, couldn't go wrong with that. My friend Charlene ordered a grilled cheese which had to be put on white bread because they were all out of wheat! How could a bread place run out of bread? The service was great Natalie did an awesome job. I was a little unimpressed when the butter was hard to find, also when arriving at our table. We sat up stairs next to a quaint fire place. The table looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day, crumbs, and lettuce every where. Overall the soup was scrumptious, yet the sandwich was a tad soggy. I visited Panera for the first time last Friday with a wonderful friend of mine. Our ordering experience was good, however, when they run out of bread bowls and the soup you've been looking forward to all week isn't available it's pretty unpleasant. We sat upstairs overlooking the entrance of the restaurant. Our table was horridly dirty, it looked like a mess my nephew would make. The soup was good but the grilled cheese was very plain and boring, the butter was so hard to find for our baguettes that we had to take turns getting up and searching for it.
