Over the last 2 years this Panera service has gone downhill. It's a 50/50 chance you will get prompt service. I called to place to go order when leaving my house and 12min later I walk into the store still on hold and see 4 people standing around doing nothing. I ask to speak to a manager and this younger girl comes out looking annoyed and asks what's wrong and I tell her I've been on hold for 12 min trying to place a to go order and there are 4 people just standing around. Her response is who did you talk to? I don't know but does that matter? There are 4 people standing around and I'm still on hold!! She then says well that register is open you can place your order there. Then walks back to the back. No I'll comp your order or give you a free muffin or bagel etc. and this was the manager?? And people are wondering why these places are either shutting down or replacing humans with kiosks. read more

This Panera is in desperate need of some updates and cleaning. Upon walking in, the menu is split. The main foods menu is on the pickup side. Floors , counter, and tables were dirty. Surfaces appeared as though they a hadn't been wiped down in a while. read more

I was in the mood for a bagel this morning and didn't feel like driving 15 minutes to New Garden Bagels, so I went around the corner to Panera. I won't do that again. Customer service is a pet peeve of mine and this place is bad. I walked up to the counter and the cashier that was standing in front of me somehow didn't see me. She even started to walk off and talk to a coworker. I had to wave her down to get service. Then when the transaction was done, I couldn't even get a "thank you". There are also some quality control issues here, take a look at the photos. You will be better off buying bagels at the nearby Harris Teeter. At least they are polite there. read more

I am disappointed. I ordered a big order, things were going well until I saw that the bread was thrown in the bag, no wrapping at all. Also, I ordered my sandwich and there was a rock solid item resembling a mini acorn embedded in my sandwich!!! I could not eat the rest of my food after that, this is ridiculous. If I didn't flip over my sandwich before taking a bite, I could have choked on my food, or chipped a tooth. They can never get TO GO right. Every time they mess up the order. It's sloppy or wrong. It's not always the regular employees either. The managers mess it up too! I have to constantly get orders corrected. The dine in is ok. Restaurant isn't very clean. Sticky usually. Also a high turn over rate with employees at this location. They never can seem to get my order right even when it's something as simple as a bagel and cream cheese, they will manage to get the cream cheese flavor wrong. I went to eat at this Panera with my husband and six year old, who loves their mac and cheese. We were dining in and my son spits out a small piece of plastic (looks like it was part of the bag the mac and cheese was cooked in) into a napkin...about the size of a finger tip. After asking to speak to someone, the manager came and offered a refund and a box of pastries or more mac and cheese. I accepted the refund (was not our whole meal but just my son's meal) and another small mac and cheese to go. I also handed over the offending shred of plastic in a napkin. Then, this morning, as I was reheating some of the replacement mac and cheese for my son's lunch, I found an even larger, sharp corner piece of the plastic bag in the mac and cheese! (See the pictures attached). I am so upset! I would have thought they would have taken my concern more seriously! This larger piece could have easily caused my 6 year old to choke and I'm relieved I was able to spot it before allowing him to eat this. Great place for a quick lunch. Salads are delightful and a very good selection too. My favorite soup is the black bean. I love getting a bowl when the weather gets a little cooler. Apparently I need to go to this Panera location from now on. I've been avoiding Panera for a while after some disappointing visits a while back at a Greensboro location. I felt they were overpriced and lacking on quality. But I was craving an Asian salad, and it was a Sunday, and therefore Chick Fil-A was closed (the horror). I ordered the Asian chicken salad and a Turkey Avacado sandwich to go (nix the turkey, replace with grilled chicken). I asked for extra dressing, two apples, and an extra big glass for water. I got no strange looks as no complaints, only a smile. My order was surprisingly quick, for being peak lunch time. I double checked it only because the deli meat replacement was a specific dietary restriction for my friend and they got it right. Not only that, but that sandwich was hearty! No wimpy sandwich or salad for that matter. I even took notice of the nice apples they put in the bag. I think this Panera location just won me back over! read more

I used to love Panera, but this last year they have gone downhill. This visit, poor customer service from the lady who took my order. No hello and no thank you. Looked like she didn't want to be there. Apathetic. Arrived at 10am and limited supply of bagels. Juice from soda fountain was broken/out of order. They could not toast our bagels because they said there was a bagel stuck in the toaster. Ordered Ham, Egg, and Cheese on a sesame bagel, and they left off the egg. I really like the food and this place. People are kind and fast but ... I definitely can't give more than 3* for the two following reasons: - their menus are really tricky; when you go outside any combo, you can't really know how much you will pay until you asked for it. You will for example discover that if you take half a sandwich, you will def not pay half the price of it but almost the price of a complete combo.... - they are overpriced to me. It's good food but almost all the best things are signature one, and easily bring you meal over 10$. It's your Panera bread co. First visit to a Panera in nearly three years and the first at this High Point location. While many sandwich favorites remain, I miss the salad selections that were omitted from their present menu. I had a frozen mocha, which was good but miss the java chip offered in St. Louis. My Chipotle chicken was good and the wait short. The establishment is medium sized with a tight spaces at the cashier. Very popular with many parking on gravel. read more

I brought 2 of my kids into the restaurant while my wife was out of town. I did this because I had a gift card to Panera. Thought it would be easier. As I'm letting the young woman ring me up at the register, the manager (assumed) walks by her and says (loud enough for me to hear) "let all the customers know that it's going to be at least 20-25 minutes." It appears they were a little short-staffed, but the store was nearly empty....so I'm not sure what the problem was. Either way, it felt passive aggressive. Lots of little stuff. Asked for the apple to be cut into a few slices for my one-year old. Didn't happen. There was guacamole on the inside of a grill cheese sandwich as if they didn't take the time to wipe the knife off before cutting the sandwich. Were no tops for the water cups. When I'm carrying said 3 water cups - two without tops... and looking like I might need help... would you mind at least pretending that you want to help instead of looking past me? I mean.... Twice i have ordered a pick up. The round trip is about an hour. First bad order, we got home and the Turkey Bravo had one thin slice of Turkey. Called and manager said, new person working and told us next time in that city, he'd make it right. He did do that. Today, did same order, got home, one piece of turkey, no cheese and bacon crumbs..really?? that store that messed up!! Both sandwiches were made like that. Even took pictures. Sent complaint, guess we will see what happens. The price they charge for a sandwich and you get home and it's missing stuff and one piece of turkey. Crazy. I placed my online order for "Rapid Pick-Up" and it was anything BUT rapid. My order was placed at 5:06, and scheduled for pick-up at 6:06. My husband arrived promptly and was told "your order didn't print so you'll have to wait an additional 20-25 minutes for your order"....I was more than irritated. I called and asked to speak with the manager. He then had to consult with the general manager, and neither of them wished to resolve it monetarily as "my husband was already gone"....SERIOUSLY!!!! The soup was great. Nice and hot. Nothing like getting a bowl of soup to find it Luke warm. The salad was delicious and the ingredients fresh. The food was prepared quickly and the staff was friendly. Only negative is they ask if you want to add a .99 cent pastry to your meal but had barely any pastries left.
