It's been a while, but lunch was good. Hubby ordered a sandwich and I ordered a salad. Both came with "chicken". You know, that stuff that probably comes out of a bag from the freezer but has "grill marks" painted on it? Not our favorite kind of chicken, for sure. But portions were good. Bread was delish. Place is clean. Service is good and friendly too. Choc chip cookie had GREAT flavor. Choc chip muffie was good. Since we get to order at a kiosk, and customize our orders, they should offer alternative meats on salads and sandwiches. We both would have preferred steak on our sandwich and salad, but items containing steak weren't something we wanted. But to have the choice to substitute it (at additional cost, I'm sure) I would have given 5+ stars. Something to think about, Panera. read more

Went to Panera during off hour (about 3:30 afternoon). The place was empty except for maybe four people. Ordering was through iPads and there were a lot of choices. No one around to explain the process and no descriptions of what we were seeing. I ordered Tomato Basil BLT with Cherry Lime Fresca. My wife had the Mac and cheese with some kind of tea. Her Mac and cheese was cold on the outside and top and warm in the middle. My sandwich was on wheat (?) that was incredibly dry and the bacon was chewy and scant. My drink was very very sweet, I added more ice and ice tea to dilute but had to wait to get home to make it drinkable. All in all, not worth the money we paid and not going back. As a breakfast place the Panera in Idaho Falls is wonderful. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I especially like being helped by Yesi as she takes my order. Her smile is contagious and puts me in a great mood. As for the food I usually get the oatmeal. Steel cut oats with walnuts or pecans (I've tried both), brown sugar, and usually strawberries or sometimes banana. I add almond milk to this and it's truly delish! However, today I had the breakfast soufflé with bacon and spinach. It was savory & yummy! Cooked in house with just the right seasonings my tummy was happy. It comes in a paper dish that it's cooked in and stays warm for a long time as I'm a slow eater. Added to this is the ginger orange, no caffeine tea which compliments the soufflé well. The atmosphere is relaxing which makes for a good start to my day. Definitely a repeat treat! read more

Twenty five minutes at the drive thru. Sandwich was hard, dry, and definitely not worth the ten dollars I paid. The server at the window was friendly. I don't know if this place STARTS your order when you get to the window or not, but after waiting 20 minutes in the drive thru it should have been ready, I shouldn't have had to wait another five minutes for a sandwich. If my lunch break had been 30 minutes instead of an hour I wouldn't have had enough time to eat, and I would have been late back to work. I've worked in fast food, and I know FOR A FACT that most drive thru limits its time per car to two minutes from the time that they pull up to the window. Most people don't get an hour for their meal break, and it's absolutely abysmal to have a wait that long. If your customer has a big order make them pull around and park so you can get the smaller orders out the window, make the order as soon as you're done taking the order, a single sandwich shouldn't have taken 25 minutes to get to your drive thru customer. read more

Maybe it is because this is a new location and they need to work the kinks out. Used the app to do a "rapid pick up" for 6 lunches. As I ordered it kept deleting my order. By the time it allowed me to checkout, it gave me an estimate of 1-1/2 hours so I called in and talked to the manager who manually took the order and said it would be ready in 20 min. When I arrived, it hadn't been started but I was offered a free drink! Again, maybe they are working the kinks out but dang! I had a lunch appointment. If I would have just come in and ordered it live I would have been out the door. Not happy at all. Update 7/19/17 Looks like they have worked the kinks out. I have used location multiple times since review and everything has been great. Good job Panera manager. Update: 8/13/19 Placed 2 orders for breakfast sandwiches (8 each order) to be picked up 45 min apart. They decided that what I really wanted was to have the first order 20 minutes late and the second order 20 minutes early to pick them up at the same time. Tried this place several times while in Idaho Falls for business. Drive thru is horrid. Ordered 1/2 a sandwich and two large teas. Extra turkey also. Bill was over $19! I questioned the blonde girl at window, wow that cant be right. She didnt care and ran my credit card through. Then she brings me my sandwhich, and i said again, you rang me up for a whole one. She is like, yeah i noticed that so i threw in a couple cookies. Im like jeebus, you won't even fix your error and then steal fro your employer by throwing in 2 cookies. Went back next day for soup, got it and tea.. back to hotel, open soup and thid was maybe filled up 2/3rd in bowl. Im like, thats it. Done with Panera here. Wont be back. 1/2 ounce of dressing for a half salad (and I'm not exaggerating) and barely any chicken on the ceasar. Mac and cheese is microwaved in a plastic bag. This is the first Panera I've been to that doesn't have cane sugar for their iced tea. Maybe it's because I'm not in the south anymore, but I feel like if one Panera offers something they should all offer it. $18 dollars for that, no thanks. Food came out fairly quick though. I've been here about a dozen or so times since they've opened. I've had 4 or 5 different sandwiches, a couple of their soups, and their macaroni and cheese. Let me first start off by saying that their mac-n-cheese is out of this world! I literally can't go in there without ordering it; it's very possible the best I've ever had. It's so creamy and delicious, I wish I wasn't diabetic so I could eat it by the gallon. Seriously. The sandwiches are quite good. My favorite is the turkey, bacon, & avocado, followed by the steak & cheese sandwich. The soups are decent, with chicken & wild rice and tomato being my two favorites. The chicken noodle is so-so, and the baked potato is pretty bland. (As a rule-of-thumb, if I'm looking for good soup I go to Geraldine's or Kneaders) As for their salads, I had their Fuji apple salad and it was absolutely amazing! Their Caesar salads with or without chicken are delicious as well. The service is pretty much non-existent anymore, so if you do go, just know that you order your food up front or at a kiosk, and then you pick it up at their window when it's ready. They also have a cubby where you pick up your to-go order. Price gets 3 stars. A meal for me costs between $15-$20, but I eat quite a bit and that will fill me up. Their food is very consistent, so that can be a good or bad thing depending on how you feel about your order. read more

I was at the restaurant here in Idaho Fall and as I entered a sign said that you must wear a mask or you would not be served. There were 3 girls in line in front of my sister and me that had no masks on when I talked to a manager as to why I must wear a mask but the girls didn't and her response was that she didn't see them without their masks off and they had already sat at a table. Have been catering to this Panera Bread location about twice a week for three years. Is it possible my level of expectation has increased or the quality of service and order correctness declined. Every other order i receive is either missing something or incorrect. We thought it was a disconnect between when the front person types it in (maybe s simpler order entry system would be good). However l have done my own self service entry and exactly half the time the order is incorrect (maybe it is me). Perhaps a training program where order correctness is emphasized instead of how we can be more diverse and all inclusive would be better (all of our training at work right now is how to be less white and how to be ashamed of being white). Also last comment, this location needs to change hours to open up by 7:30 AM. We often go instead to Kneaders because they open up earlier (by 7) but service is absolutely scary and atrocious there but always correct. read more

I have worked with businesses that struggle with getting their feet wet in a new place, and I can say that Panera Bread is on top of things, and will only get better! The food is excellent, and the upkeep of the dinning area is great. Servers are always around to help with concerns, problems, or if you are looking for a compliment this is the place. We have been going to Panera Bread locations since the 90's. When we travel, we know we will be served great food by great employees at a fair price! However that is not the case with the Idaho Falls location. We moved here in January of 2018 and we have consistently been disappointed with this location. This just hurts me to give this low of a review. When we go to breakfast, they almost never have light roast coffee ready. The bagels (with exception of the Asiago) are hard and chewy. When we go to lunch it gets worse. The soup is always cold....always. My husband ordered the new grilled cheese, bacon and tomato sandwich and it came with no bacon on bread that was hard. He doesn't like to complain so he ate what he could. I have never written a review on Yelp, but something is very wrong with this location. read more
