I was driving to LA for the weekend and pulled over in La Quinta for a bite to eat. I'm glad that I stopped at Panera because the portion sizes are on the smaller size. (Perfect!) I am a bit unhappy with the vegetarian selection. Only two vegetarian sandwiches, no meat-free signature salads, and a basic selection of vegetarian soups? Why can't I have fancy salads with fruits or nuts or wonton chips in them? I guess I could have asked to have a salad sans chicken, but the girl taking my order seemed to be having a rough day... One more complaint is Panera ran out of my sandwich's bread. Maybe the employees at the register should also know which breads are out for the day so that customers can change their orders. Love the fresh, quality food you always get at Panera. I've eaten here many times and I am never disappointed, sometimes you might get a young person at the counter that might not have the best customer service skills, especially while facing many hungry patrons. Today's dinner was courtesy of my rewards from the Panera card, ordered online and order was ready to go at the specified time I selected. My daughter ordered off the pick 2 menu. 1/2 sandwich and soup served in a bread bowl. We were thankful that they put her soup in a cup, for her to assemble at home. Hey YELP FANS, As you know, I only do 5 or 1 stars as you either have it or you don't. I have been coming to this Panera Bread for about a year and LOVE their food. I am a SOUP guy and they are all delicious. I love the FREE WI-FI and the best part of it is if they make an error, they always refund your money or offer you a FREE dessert. I think customer service is KEY because STUFF is going to happen, but it is how you handle your stuff that makes a difference and Panera Bread knows how to handle their STUFF. read more

This Panera location never seems to disappoint. Everyone is friendly and helpful and the food is always prepared precisely as ordered. Sometimes the line is crazy long, but the ordering kiosks work very efficiently. The only issue is that most times, the men's restroom paper towels are non-existent. No big deal though. I love Panera especially this specific one but today I ordered the teriyaki chicken and broccoli bowl and they gave me half of what I initially ordered when I ordered it on the Panera app the teriyaki chicken and broccoli filled up the bowl in the picture and when they gave me the bowl there was only half of what was supposed to be in there. I payed for a full meal and they only gave me a small portion of my meal I know that they are all working hard and I do realize that it is especially hard during these times but I just didn't appreciate how I didn't get my full meal. read more

Eh. About all I can say. Mom and I decided to have a quick lunch here today. After the lunch hour about1:20, certainly not crowded. Used the kiosk for ordering and mom went outside to get us a table while I waited for food. Wow, had the good gown downhill. We had. Tuna sandwich and a Cesar salad with chicken. Very little tuna on sandwich and the roll was ice cold. I'm assuming it was pre-made and tasted like it. The salad was served a a small plastic to go container with one little container of dressing. We looked high and low for some chicken and did find a few scraggly pieces. This is the second time we've had way less than stellar food. First time we chalked it up to the covid thingy. Nope. I really like the food, the whole idea of getting soup and a salad and a big chunk of crusty bread sounds amazing. It's pretty darn good. The only complaint I have is that the workers tend to forget things when you order food to go. I've had things missing from my orders many times so now I always go through the whole to go bag inside before leaving. Other than that, I really enjoy the food. read more

My experience at panera was awful. I had ordered one chocolate chip cookie and the worker said "are you sure that you want ONE chocolate chip cookie?" and i was like "yes im sure, i want one chocolate chip cookie." He said again "are you suuuuure???" and i was like "Yes give me my cookie already." and he said "okAaaayyyyyy i'll get you one chocolate chip cookie." My favorite weekend breakfast place. Great bagels and coffee and of course fabulous sweets.

As usual poor customer service,,,So I arrived early for lunch figuring it would be crowded for lunch...I placed my order at 1124 which took about 15 minutes to place. There were 2 people in front of me and no one working. I paid for my lunch and walked away to find a table. During lunch I was looking for my cell phone and I thought I left it at home or in the car. So I sat at the dirty table and my lunch arrived. The worker asked my if I wanted anything else and I said yes I would like a paper bag for my bread and butter. Never saw her again. So after I finished my lunch I walked around the restaurant trying to get to the soda machine as there was a crowd waiting for their lunches. So basically I walked around the store to get to the machine. As I passed the front sales counter the cashier said OH I have your phone! I said,"Wow, why didn't you bring it to me earlier, I was looking for it. " She told me she was calling after me as I walked away but I didn't hear her and then the manager told her I would come back. Really.....No I probably would of drove home 25 minutes away to my home to look for my phone....How rude is that???...Why couldn't the manager come after me. They apparently saw me walking away looking for a table....Again just poor customer service......It's the little things that matter,,,,Management!!!!!! I really wanted a bagel this morning. Panera bread came up in the yelp search. The restaurant was semi busy. Service was fast. Employees were just doing their jobs nothing spectacular in the customer service department. I ordered two bagels. One cinnamon crunch and one blueberry, both with cream cheese! Yum! Mmmmmmmmmmmm Nothing beats a fresh sandwich or tasty salad. We love Panera and highly recommend it for those of you who haven't tried it yet. Our favorites are: Chicken chipotle sandwich, Asiago Roast Beef sandwich, Greek salad, or steak salad. You wont go wrong with any of those. Try an extra side or their horseradish sauce if you get the roast beef sandwich, it's fabulous. the staff are always welcoming, and the establishment is always in order. Clean, neat, tidy, and wonderfully fresh food = a great lunch experience. they do take-out too, so call your order in 15 minutes before you arrive, beat the line and walk directly to the take-out section. you may get some scowls from ppl standing in line, but hey, if they read Yelp.com they would know how to do it right. I order from this Panera almost every week for me and my family, but lately every time I order there's at least one or two items missing and I have to go to the cafe to pick it up. It destroys the point of getting my food delivered if I have to go to the cafe anyway because they're always forgetting something. Great chicken noodle soup! Also had the turkey apple cheddar sandwich. The bread that came with the soup as well as on the sandwich is fabulous- sourdough just the way I like it- tangy, substantial, chewy crust. Also splurged on a choc candy cookie - very tasty. This location was on the north side of the 111 in La Quinta - easy to park on a Saturday evening. Pleasant staff, quick service, uncrowded, clean tables, no surprises. read more

The ambience here is really great the people who serve our food are always so happy and energetic I almost feel guilty for not leaving a tip knowing its not required but I often do and suggest more people do as well my favorite items are the creamy tomato soup and the thai salad There was one incident I must say did manage to linger in my mind when some tall elderly man who I think is a manager there was yelling at some of his employees I found it rude and extremely unprofessional the people there work so hard overall I enjoy this place and the service . read more

I went into Panera this morning in La Quinta and was helped by Kevan well, 10 stars for him! I had ordered 2 sourdough bread bowls for some folks in my neighborhood who cannot get out of the house, one of them had holes in it when sliced, he cheerfully sliced a new bowl, and gave me the original one for one of my elderly neighbors, not only that, he gave me some shortbread cookies for these folks. I've been to this Panera a few times and have to say I was pleasantly surprised today. I was here celebrating lunch for a co-worker who picked the location. I've had salad in the past that had the taste of out dated lettuce. Today was fresh and really good. I will give it another try. Terrible attitude at the order station. And i got home with my order and was missing my bagel. So they don't check the to go bag to ensure it has everything! Bogus! The Palm Desert store did, at least the last time I visited it. They even double checked that I had my pastry from the bakery, which I didn't. They promptly went back to the front bakery and retrieved it. The La Quinta store manager needs to implement these same audit checks. read more

Clean place when I've eaten there. Never had a problem with my mobile orders. Their scrambled egg,cheese on brioche is amazing and very affordable. Not crazy about their coffee. While the food is great, and the convenience of rapid order is great....Some of their options need improvement. I went 2 days in a row seeking out the jalapeno bagels and found nothing. I asked the cashier if they would be making any for the day and she simply stated that was up to the manager. Boo! Two days of disappointment. Officially: 3.75 Stars I can't believe I am doing this.....giving Panera Bread this many stars. I had actually pretty much decided to boycott all Panera Breads (due to the Miramar and Lake Forest locations), but I was on vacation with a friend who really really wanted an egg sandwich from Panera....so I went in. Even once inside, like a belligerent child I stoutly refused to buy anything....but then the smiles and the samples started flowing. While in line, we got to try a taste of the Breakfast Power Sandwich (whole wheat bread, egg, cheese, lean ham) and the caramel latte. The sandwich was so good, and was the perfect size (one slice of bread cut in half made up the sandwich) that I knew I had to have one. They also told us they would be sampling the chicken salad sandwich and the barbecue chicken salad a little later. Sure enough, about 15 minutes later, they came to our table first with little sample cups. That was day one, and by day four I had tried the following items: Summer Corn Chowder (5 stars) - the bread they give you with it is actually toasted!! Dude!! Asiago Cheese Bagel (4.5 stars) Cheese and Jalapeno Bagel (4 stars....wish it were spicier) Spinach Artichoke Baked Egg Souffle (4.5 stars) The brownie (5+ stars) In addition to the food being good, the whole store is very clean and all of the employees are very friendly and efficient. Finally, today, my last day in the desert, I told one of the employees (who I believe may have been the assistant manager) how happy I was with this location, and how much the locations near me seem to suck. He said that in the San Diego area, the locations are franchises. It explains a lot. They also re-record a new message every day so that when you call them, it will tell you what the soup of the day is, before they give you the option to press a number to place an order by phone. Brilliant! I would give this place a higher rating if they weren't so damn stingy with their wireless internet. They even say on their menu board that they have "Free wi-fi and a comfortable inviting location to enjoy it in". Inviting my ass....when you tell me I am limited to only 30 minutes, during busy times (and the system will kick you off), this is not inviting. When you tell me that the reason for this is that they don't want people sitting at tables with their laptops all day....THAT is NOT inviting. But it is ok. I will tolerate it....Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is right down they way, and they don't care how long I sit on my computer. I will visit this location whenever I am in the desert. read more

Sorry excuse for a Panera Bread. I've consistently had problems at this location, but today was by far the worst. My family goes to this location at least every other week. At least 80% of the time they mess things up. Today for example one family member ordered 2 cream cheeses and another ordered chives cream cheese. We were delivered one plain cream cheese... We informed the lady that delivered it, expecting 2 more cream cheeses to be delivered to our table. After waiting for 2 minutes, I got up to see what the heck was taking so long. Apparently the delivery girl completely disregarded us. I then went and spoke with the cashier who took another 2 minutes to figure out what was going on. 4 minutes just to get the damn cream cheese that we had ordered with our meal and by then our bagels were cold. Pathetic! We won't be going back to this location. read more

I love Panera and this one is the closest to where I live so we frequent often. I have to say its also the worst at cleanliness. They do not wipe off or clean the tables and they don't vacuum or sweep well enough. There is always someone running around to deliver the food but no one to clean the tables at least. I know you're supposed to pick up after yourselves here and put your dirty dishes away yourself but sadly not alot of people do that. But they need to have someone at least taking care of this so other patrons can sit in a clean environment when they come in. They are quick to come out with the food but the lines here are always long. Have alot of patience is all I can recommend. read more

I have to remind myself this is essentially a fast food restaurant. But, that being said, this particular one is not very clean and the staff is sullen. In regards to the free wifi - I can understand limiting time on PC & free wifi, during busy rush hours (lunch time). I have spent a few hours here on my Laptop pc having coffee & breakfast when my desktop PC broke down & all my billpmts were paperless stmt- Online (laptop not on wireless then). I'd rather be in a nice atmosphere with jazz music (altho' loud at times) than at public library. Just order more coffee,rolls or sandwich! (However,I wasn't keen on some breakfast items I had). Every time I come here the sandwiches get shittier and shittier. My grilled cheese was a single slice of melted cheese in between 2 pieces of bread, that had grill marks on them for some reason. I paid $12.50 for that and some lettuce with some cheese and bread crumbs on it. read more

I noticed that every time that a certain night manager is working the coffee is not kept up fresh. Its been approximately three times at night that I have asked them to brew a fresh batch because it doesn't taste fresh and hot, and obviously its not because the time tag they use says its been more than an hour they've brewed it. I still come here because its closest to home but when I can i rather drive the a few more miles to the palm desert location. The good thing is that every time they always brew a fresh batch for me as soon as they can. The customer service is great, cleanliness is good, the food is good. I just hope that with time this will be resolved. read more
