It's a Panera, so it's hard to go wrong (as long as you ignore the nutritional content of a lot of their stuff). I go to Panera bread for several things - decent food, consistency, and a comfortable atmosphere. This one delivers on all three. It has a cute outside area with a decent amount of seating, but it's busy in the town center. Inside seems cramped when it's truly packed in there, but on slower days it's great to just hang out in. My knitting group is here twice a month, and they couldn't be nicer to us. A great place to go for a nice relaxing meal or drink. read more

Ordered a "rapid" delivery yesterday at 12:15 was quoted 12:45-12:55. No problem started receiving alerts the order had left and that our order was arriving in relation to this timeline. Then 15 minutes, then 20 minutes and still no food or further notifications. I try and call the store. Of the the options I try the manager option. After 3 rings it just goes to beeps. So I call back and try the order option. Get ahold of someone who's first response is "Are you sure you didn't mean to call the Leesburg store?" After she decides to look at the order she says your food has already been delivered. If that were the case why would I be calling? She decided to try and call the driver who said he would be there in about 10 minutes. We live less than 5 from the store. When I try to tell them I am frustrated with the lack of proper communication and the miscommunication that was sent she then decided to just hang up instead of even responding. Decided to search for a online customer service. They were way more helpful and have kept my faith that as a company care about their customers. While I will not be back to this store I will still give Panera a chance. After getting my food an hour after the time it was supposed to arrive it is clear they were processing the notifications so it looks like they are making there deliveries on time and meeting quotas. I have been going to Panera Bread since 2001. This Panera Bread lacks customer service and the manager needs to understand that serving customers should be the #1 priority. Her lackluster attitude and lack of customer service is unfortunate. I know that we all have bad days, but for those in a professional setting they need to be checked when you leave home. The food was ok, but I noticed the sandwiches were almost burnt and everytime you asked for something you were greeted with you were bothering them. I can't even say anything good about this location. I have placed two delivery orders in both times delivery was incorrect and the phone has not been working for at least four months. There is no way to get a hold of anybody at the store and no way to get the delivery order rectified. I did not receive either order and have not been reimbursed. read more

The Lansdowne location is less busy than the Leesburg outlets, and is easier to find seating. I've ordered the same salad countless times using their Rapid Pickup option. These employees just cannot get it right. Once I found preparer's blue plastic glove in my salad! THAT was likely a local health code violation. Other times they don't get the order correct, e.g. without red onions. I've sought out the manager with my comments and yet the miscues continue. Weird tensions between staff and customers made it seem fruitless to address. The customer in line ahead of me turned to me after he ordered and stated: "Good luck with your order." The food here is usually pretty good. The problem is with the workings of the place: drink area is too small and always dirty/messy, the employee turnover is phenomenal, you will always have someone unfamiliar with the workings of the restaurant trying to either figure out how to place an order or how to make the dish you've ordered with the correct ingredients. I used to come here a lot after school to do homework and eat dinner. I would order a smoothie with a bagel, very delicious. I also like their option of a full or half bowl for the caesar salad. Their service is really good. I like how fast they serve the food, the maximum I waited was ten minutes once. It is a great hangout place to do homework and be with friends. This Panera Bread is in close proximity to my school, which is very beneficial. This is friendly family place, it also has a nice comforting atmosphere. NEW: I was here adding another review and saw this older one. I've been back to Panera many times since this initial review and I've changed my mind. I must have just been there on an off day. Overall I like this Panera (better then the others I've visited). Service 4/5 (the morning staff is great!) Bagels 4/5 and coffee 4/5 The wifi still sux, but everything else is good :) OLD: Ok, the service poor (2 out of 5), but the bagels themselves good (4/5), coffee bad to ok (3/5). Be prepared for a long wait in a single line along with non-courteous staff, also often the self-service coffee pots are full of coffee rines so you'll often end up with lots of those in your cup as well. Oh and the WIFI.... forget about it.... it's totally sporadic. Save yourself the hassle. read more

Getting better...still issues with the line, the speed of the staff (or lack thereof) during busy times, and volume of food available, but overall, I think they're (finally) figuring out the Lansdowne crowd. They also now have competition in the Town Center with other options for breakfast items, so that may have helped reduce the lines. Still the best place to grab and go for a soup and sandwich, and you can't beat the frequent flier card they now have that is mysteriously loaded with free fat-ladden goodies every once in awhile. The breakfast menu is amazing. It is perfect for anyone who is looking for a tasty breakfast on a Saturday morning with friends and family. I had the spinach artichoke souffle and it made my day. They also have a variety of bagels. I picked up half a dozen of customized bagels for my family for the entire week. The muffins are also really yummy if you are looking for a quick eat. Overall I recommend this place for anyone looking for a good breakfast place. The service is also really good. The cashiers are polite and apt at taking orders. The food comes pretty quickly and the buzzer system is very convenient. The only thing I wish for is that the tables were a little more cleaner. read more

As a few others have mentioned, I too had an issue with my food not made as described. The BBQ chicken salad was missing two key ingredients: the tortilla strips and onion frizzles. They fortunately had good service recovery and let me order another salad at not cost. However, I think it's unacceptable to serve a menu item that is missing ingredients. Maybe once a month, my husband will stop here and pick up salads for us for dinner on his way home from work. I ask you - how hard is it, reasonably, to get a salad right? We order the same thing every time: classic salad with balsamic vinaigrette for me; Spinach Power with Salmon for him - both with a baguette. Keep in mind that the classic salad is listed as being served with the balsamic vinaigrette and all salads are listed as being served with a baguette on the side. The only that ever changes is which dressing my hubby is in the mood for and we never customize our salads. So why, oh why, is our order always wrong?? Now, I've had to ask many times for them to wipe down the tables (and finally had to grab a rag on a few occasions and do it myself) but the food is always good so we overlook the messy dining area or clean it ourselves! read more

I wish I could just not give this Panera one star. They don't deserve it. Customer service there is horrible. I've ordered take out from there now twice. The first time I get home and the soup was not in the bad so I had to go back. Then, thinking it was just a one time mistake, I ordered take out from there again today. I checked in the bag to make sure my family's food was in there before I left and the person behind the counter looks at me and says "it's all there." True the correct amount of items were there but when I get home and open it up, the order is totally wrong. Chicken Caesar sandwich was ordered and there was no chicken even on the sandwich. I have eaten at this Panera a handful of times over the past couple of years. I'm not sure why, but the last time I was there a couple of weeks ago, things had just gone down hill. The service was bad, they were out of a few different items. Our order wasn't right and had to wait a long time for it to be corrected. Our office usually orders breakfast from Panera but lately it has become a frustrating thing. We place multiple orders sometimes online and sometimes in store but EVERY single time something is wrong!!!! The two stars im giving is for the actual food. Its really good and we enjoy eating Panera but service could use some work. They need a better system on food prepping or something. There is always certain things missing from sandwiches avocado seems to be the most popular. There is a "lovely" lady, that works in the food prepping area who always seems to have an attitude. I really wish I got her name. (Hispanic lady who wears her hair in a long ponytail) I asked her to please place all the orders under my name in one large bag and she didnt and gave me a bunch of little bags. Another lady behind the counter sees me struggling to grab all the bags and ask if I would like large bag. It was nice of her to notice seeing that the other lady didnt. Then the pony tail lady asks me how many salads I have and I accidentally said 1(I had two). They the other lady who was behind asks who the other salad was for and I realized it was mine so I said Sorry thats mine too. Pony tail Lady says Well thats why I asked you how many salads you had? I'm usually a fan of Panera as they have some healthy options for people that want something quick. My experience at the Lansdowne today, however, was extremely disappointing. I was meeting someone for a lunch meeting and noticed the line was long, so we grabbed a table and used the online order option. I got an email saying the food would be ready in 8 minutes, which isn't just a vague time (a lot of restaurants say 10 to 15 minutes) so I figured it'd be pretty accurate. When my food wasn't ready after 15 minutes, I figured it was because the place was busy but wanted to check on my order. I was told by staff members that it wasn't even on their screens, so they had no idea when it would be ready. Okay....then why promise me in the initial email that it would be ready in 8 minutes? The wait (which turned out to be a total of 35 minutes) wasn't too bad considering we were already planning on being there for a bit, but it's the customer service that really bothered me. I asked if we could have cups for the drinks I paid for while we waited for the food and was given a dirty look and was told "uhhhh....nope, we can't do that." Then, another customer came up to explain that her order has been messed up and she was told "you're gonna have to get back in line if you want that fixed." (she had already been there for at least 20 minutes, they messed up the order, and she was told to get back in line) After seeing that happen, I didn't even bother to bring it up when they messed up my order (gave me the wrong sandwich and the wrong size cups for soda). Overall, I very disappointing visit to Panera. read more

Look, I'm a fan of Panera. I've been to a number of different Paneras and this one just isn't up to the standard. The food is close, but they take some little shortcuts like shorting my salad on lettuce or tossing a couple of chunks of lemon into my soup instead of taking the time to slice the lemon. Staff is adequate, but not as friendly as other Paneras. Bigger issues: the furniture appears to have been rented out for a demolition derby and electric outlets are impossible to find. I count 2, maybe three outlets for the entire seating area. I've never seen a Panera like that. Main reason I visit Panera is to get work done while I eat. Lack of outlets makes that impossible. read more
